What a sweet place. sigh~

One of my besties and I went for brunch after shopping and we had a magical experience. We were seated upstairs...it was warm, light chit-chat in the background, great service and the food...the food was delightful.

I had the Chicken Curry Salad with a side of harissa-cranberry chutney. Perfection. Prices are reasonable.

The perfect brunch. Could be great date location, too (or morning after ^_^)

I want to like it...but...I felt like the whole experience was just ODD. My brother and I wanted to try something new and this place was highly recommended. He got the special lobster roll and I ordered the mussels.

The lobster roll was fine, nothing particularly spectacular - just chew and swallow.
The mussels were good but why are they an entree? They don't even come with bread for the broth (it's an additional $2.00). It's kind of weird to offer and entree without a starch or veggie in my opinion. The pricing seem high for what the food is and mixed drink prices are astronomical.

The atmosphere would be nice if it weren't so industrial around it; they really should've gone for a location that could provide a front entry versus side.

Porky. Soupy. Noodley. Not too salty and comforting :) I've only done take-out here but they're consistent so I didn't mind putting it together, it's just prettier when they do it for you

Ren's still can't beat my Ramen Hakata in Flushing, NY!!...but they recently closed...so ...I guess Ren's wins :T

ah.
may.
zing.

I want to come here alone so I could fully indulge and savor each moment. The portions sizes are huge but I don't want to share...unless I'm sharing this with myself at a later hour. I could eat this every week, maybe every day. Can't wait to be back in L.A. for this!

I shudder to think of what would happen to me if I were actually in Japan surrounded by ramen houses  ^_________________________________^

This place can't even keep their appointments straight. I bought the Living Social deal like everybody else - 1 for facial and 1 for microdermabrasion.

The first time I went in, I ended up waiting for 1 hour 45 min and then was told sorry but we're double booked do you need to make another appt. I was super understanding about it and made another appt for today. But instead of getting a microderm I'm sitting in a Starbucks bc guess what....they don't do microderm at this location anymore. Yesterday, I told the person on the phone I was getting the microderm so wtf was so hard that you couldn't say "oh, thats going to be at the other location" ?????!?!?

I give up bc between work, school and living in VA I don't have time for this.

First time with shabu shabu...even though this isn't quite authentic or anything especially with a Korean twist it was super good.

I like that everyone has their own hotpot right in front of them and you do whatever you want with it. I stuck to lots of veggies and tempura and beef slices. You turn on your hotpot and wait for the desired level of simmer. Put your different foods in and put in all the different sauces you want. There's extra sauce you can go get from a designated area.

Warning: you will most likely burn your tongue...or in my case, my whole face. I underestimated how hot the food was and I was slightly sobbing over my dinner.

Don't ask me how much it cost cuz I'm a girl and someone else paid :D

I wish we had this in DC :*(

THIS is ramen. Big, brothy, porky.

Cute atmosphere, very relaxed and casual with good polite service. Moderate prices that are more than worth it when you see the portion sizes.

I miss you....

Not too shabby, Red Roof Inn....not at all...

I was expecting a lot worse in terms of cleanliness and space but turns out that the room was a lot bigger than expected. There's garage parking right across the street but we didn't even have to pay for parking since there was ample street parking available. Getting in and out of the hotel isn't that bad except at night when the front desk personnel all disappear completely...quite annoying that you have to call to get them to open the door - automated key entrance perhaps?

The room was super clean and looked recently renovated with simple layout. There's a free continental breakfast set-up in the mornings when you go to the 2nd floor (i think?). Again, nothing spectacular but much appreciated.

Plenty of places to eat, the subway is available and there's a brand new shiny Target in the area as well. We were visiting friends so we didn't go into the city much. Overall, a very accessible area but can't say there's much to do besides eat and eat.

MMMMMMM....this place was like a dream...a loud dream but still a dream; it's very echo-y. It has a truly beautiful space and ambiance, very European. Very bright and well lit, very good service and the food was excellent. Brunch is a great time to go...I love the deli counter set-up with breads and desserts for carry-out.

It was busy and bustle-y but not crowded, everyone seemed at ease including the waitstaff. I will definitely go back when I'm in L.A.

FINALLY lamyun has arrived!  But...with a lot of .."oh, i guess can't argue since there isn't any other place"-isms.

Location is awful due to non-existent parking even on a weekday (I went on a Wednesday night), it's next to a Popeyes aka ambiance-killer and the space is so tiny. The broth was more bland then expected and the portions are really small compared to other Japanese lamyun places in L.A. and NYC. For starting at $10.99, I thought it would be bigger.

The side dishes and extra condiment prices are baffling with "homemade" sriracha coming in at $1.50 for a tiny dish smaller than the palm of my hand. It tastes just like the bottled kind! Maybe I should always have a supply in my purse....

The staff is actually really great and very personable and with the small space, they've done a good job of making it visually interesting without trying too hard. I loved the skateboards and the dessert presentation :)
