You can swing either way here - coffee or wine.
I'm sure many a customer has walked out of here, hand against forehead, thinking, why didn't I think of this?!
Not only do they give you the beverage variety, the food selection is a bit more substantial than some other coffee shops - you can get breakfast burritos, sandwiches, desserts and cheese plates. They also have vegetarian options, too.
The owners and staff are both friendly, and they also have a private space for party rentals. I've yet to attend one of their Sunday night monthly wine tastings, but I'm sure that they would embody the same passion and vibrancy that makes this place so special.
Even if you don't leave here a bit tipsy or on a caffeine high, you'll still want visit again!

So I'd actually only been to the legendary Buckhead location a few times. And I know it got a lot of love. And I would even give it some love for it because it sustained twenty-ish years of trends, buckhead-ers and the ebb and flow of constant changing out of booty bars and more surrounding them.
So minus any reminiscent stories from the first locale (except for a bowl of soup with a coworker), I will say that the midtown location is better.
Why, you ask?
- Feels cleaner
- Huge arse patio. Awesome huge arse patio.
Hurts so good:
- Kitty, who has been with Steamhouse forever (or like twenty years or so), is the hostess with the mostess. Super sweet, loves the management and owners (they're a great company, she exclaimed!) and informed me that over half the staff from the original locale followed 'em to Midtown.
- One word, said very slowly to sound like two: po- (pause) boy. I love me a po-boy and am glad to get a decent shrimp one very much ITP.
- um, helloo? Oysters, baby. Oysters. Raw and juicy. Not sure if it is for all time or changes, but they have a dozen oysters for five bucks on Wednesdays.
- Music makes for a fun atmosphere. Even during lunchtime, its the kind that will lighten a business lunch, make you dance a little in your chair, and wish you had a cocktail so you could really get up and dance.
- And if you do get that cocktail, close your eyes, go to the patio, sweat a little bit, and you'd nearly swear you were on a beachfront vacationing instead of off of W. Peachtree traffic.
Things not to like?
- freakin' parking. hard stuff it is. The first time I went, I ended up paying five bucks for a lot, and the second, made the block and found a free spot. So come prepared and budget that into your night!

George, the owner, is adorable, and made a quick cameo at our table. The space is very light and open, with walls covered with colorful paintings by an Athens native artist. A very comfortable vibe, and tasty apps like a tower of fried goodness, goat cheese, and mussels.
They do indeed like their wine 'round these parts, and truly, what's not to like about wine? A lovely list and also a sizable bar to do your sipping.
So glad to have experienced this hidden spot, and lookin' forward to a return visit for one of their wine tastings!
