We had a situation with my mother (depression, dementia, alcoholism) where we engaged American Elder Care. I will say that Donna worked hard - but it was a difficult and unique situation, where the end result was a lot of activity with little productivity.

We ended placing my mom in a facility my sister had originally found, contact and established a relationship, then moved her to a second facility my sister also initiated the contact and relationship.

I will say this - to be honest and fair - we were working under very tight deadlines, but that is the reason we sought out help. In my opinion we accomplished 80 percent of the critical work ourselves.

In general, the moral is that no one will work harder for a family member than a family member. So be cautious when trying to outsource elder care.

My recommendations to anyone engaging with American Elder Advocates, or any other elder care services, would be to set up a contract for payment upon completed tasks instead of billable hours.

I give two stars, not because Donna didn't work hard, but because the results were not what we were hoping for.

I walked into Scarpe looking for a gift for my wife. The service was incredible, and most important the clothes, shoes and jewelry I bought are my wife's go to in her wardrobe. I often hear her friends ask where she got the clothes she is wearing, which makes me think they know what's up in fashion. Since I was just visiting Telluride I now go their online store and buy for special occasions. Gotta keep a good thing going.

Loved this place. Great tiny sushi restaurant. Since we got there at about 3:30 we were able to hang with and talk with chef and owner.

They go to the market everyday and buy fresh fish.

The sushi was amazing - very fresh, very well presented.

It's a tiny place, at about 6 pm it started filling up fast. The locals were coming in and hugging the owners, chatting with the chef. It was an awesome experience.

Whoa. I just ate here for the first time and the burger was great. I did a "create your own" with 1/3 pound, multi-grain bun, cheddar cheese, ketchup, mustard, lettuce, tomato, onion and fresh jalapenos.

It was delicious. For a quick burger this was the best I've ever had - that was not homemade off a grill.

I'm most certainly coming back. I hope they open closer to downtown Boulder.

Why not 5-Stars? Don't know. I've been there once and I never like giving 5 stars until I've been a few times. So maybe soon I'll upgrade the rating.

Matt from OneButton is incredible. He's the best home theater, audio visual person I've ever worked with.

Seriously, my system is fine tuned now and it rocks. Plus yes, I have a single remote that powers it all.

Had a great night with my business partner here. The manager set us up with a premium sake that was so unbelievably good.

Must be getting older to get that kind of service. Five years ago they probably wondered if I was going to dine and dash, now I get free sake. What a difference a bald head and a nice suit makes.

The rolls were great. I loved the spicy rolls, plus the all the eel rolls were fabulous.

We sat the bar, got great service from the sushi chefs. Would most certainly recommend this if you're in Chevy Chase.

BTW, the sake was: Nigata Sake: Snow Shadow.

This place is full of cycling elitist employees. I went in there with my kids one time, and they have kids bikes on the floor, my four-year-old hops on a bike and the person yelled at him for biking in the shop.

I responded back telling the guy to chill out. He didn't like that much.

Since I live in North Boulder, I thought it would be great to have bike shop close by. Come to find out they don't want to service the community at large, just those people that wear logo bike jerseys.

I can't stand running - which is why Boulder Running Company rocks. The employees are the most well-versed product and fit people I've been around.

I'm a trail runner, so my needs are obviously different from those of road running. I've probably bought 10 pairs of trail running shoes (about a new pair every year) from Boulder Running Company and each time I get great attention and service.

The reality is that I'm not "totally into" the shoes, and going once every year I forget what I'm looking for in a shoe. I never feel talked down to which is great.

NOTE: If you visit on the weekends, it can be really packed.

Love the atmosphere at Sherpa's, has a great outdoor patio, the food is wonderful and the people are great.

Glacier is ridiculously good. They've got this raspberry chocolate melt that came from a passing comet or something - it's that yummy.

My kids, my parents, my friends - we all love it.

All of my out-of-town guests  that come through request at least one session at Glacier. Show owner comment »
