Last night was my first trip to Gaslamo Strip Club, but I have been a frequent visitor to Turf Club in Golden Hill, so I knew the drill. The place wasn't very crowded, so we got a table right away. We started cooking our steaks, and I saw a sign that read "Tell your server when you have five minutes left to cook your steak", so they can bring out the side dishes.Our server brought our side dishes out before any of our steaks were done, so they got cold. In addition, she took away my drink and my friend's, without asking. She rushed to give us the bill, and rushed out of there, so as far as service is concerned, it was bad. I prefer Turf Club over this place in a heartbeat - service is better, people are freindler..
I just walked over to Bubba's for lunch today, and I was so glad I did! I am from the southeast, so it's hard to find good, souther BBQ, complete with hush puppies and sweet tea! this place has it - the pulled pork sandwich was so good, i can't wait to go back and have it again! the If you like southern BBQ, this is the place to go!!
I keep trying to give this place the benefit of the doubt, but last night was it for me..I am so tired of the crappy service you get when you sit at the bar. I think they ignore you on purpose. We finally have to wave down a bartender so we could order food, which was mediocre at best. I would not reccomend this place to anyone. Oh, and if you want to sample a beer before you buy it, they charge you $1.

Went to Girard Gourmet for lunch yesterday, as I really wanted some soup..they have the best white bean and ham soup, comes with yummy fresh bread and all reasonably priced!!

this was my 1st visit to the Stone Brewery, and I have been drinking thier yummy bear for some time! I have to say, I was very dissapointed by the service we recived sitting at the bar yesterday. My friends and i were volunteering at the Anniversary Party, and had two hours to kill, so we had some lunch at Stone. We had to ask a bartender for service, we had to ask for silverware, even though we had food sittting in front of us (and got the meanest look from the girl bartender when we did), and they spent thier entire time talking to each other, vs. the customers who were there, spending money. I am usually a good tipper, but after the service we got yesterday, I only tipped 10%. To make it worse, we were wearing shirts from their event (with volunteer on the back) and the only nice people were the guys filling the growlers!!
Too bad to see a nice place give such bad service!

this is the place to go if you are nursing a hangover...fast service, strong coffee, great breakfast! it was crowded for a Friday morning, but hey, we want tourists spending money in our fair city!

yes, being on the Food Network has certainly helped Mama Testa's, becuase it was very crowded on Saturday night. I also realized that almost everyone was eating fish tacos, which was great, but I decided on ordering something else, and that was my mistake. I guess their new focus is fish tacos, not the rest of the menu, so I was dissapointed in how little meat was in the tacos I ordered, and I doubt I will go back. I should have walked a little further to La Fuente's.
This place is great, and the staff/owners are awesome! The tour that is given on Saturdays is super informative, even if you are just a beer drinker, not a homebrewer! $5 gets you a sweet pint glass and four tastings, which is a great deal for awesome beer!!
I have been to this place several times and the service has sucked every time! Clearly they don't care about customer service, since so many people are going there, but I won't be going back anytime soon...if i wanted sucky customer service, I will go to PB.

I was scared to leave the buble and head to La Mesa (leave the bubble, get in trouble with THE MAN)...but I did it on Tuesday night, and was worth the trip!
love the new place, way more open that the Turf in Golden Hill, steak was awesome, Lima Jack was yummy, and yes, I tried the Chocolate Bacon cake - well, everyone knows anything covered in chocolate is good, and bacon goes with everything!!
