Some drawbacks are that the temperature can get uncomfortable with the heat of the kitchen and the afternoon sun coming in through the front windows. The kitchen also can get brutal when they're frying onion or bacon and the perfume becomes eye-wateringly overpowering.
Otherwise, the coffee is decent and the staff is always straightforwardly helpful. The books are fun to browse through and the tables against the bookshelves in the second room on the forund floor are generally the most pleasant...
Seems like they're still working out the service kinks, but with the excellent fare that's not necessarily a big problem for me.

For the "cinema" component, there's always some kind of Himalayan tie-in, no matter how tangential. I saw "caddyshack" here several years ago -- selected for Bill Murray's Dali Lama reference.
The museum's great too... The spiral staircase, a holdover from the space's former incarnation as a department store, is quite appropriate to the subject matter.

As for the restaurant, I've generally had a good experience with the menu. The main dining room is a little cavernous for my tastes, but I enjoy sitting at the bar if possible.

The reason I'm reviewing this location is because of its wretched, God-awful fitting room situation.
Ever been sentenced to solitary confinement in an Eastern bloc country like Bulgaria? Well neither have I, but after spending some time in a 3 ft. x 3 ft. "hole" that passes for a fitting room at the Urban Outfitters, Santa Monica, my mind began to wander to thoughts of trading cigarettes for protection against a KGB-sponsored prison gang.
Really guys... Could you not spare the extra 500 square feet to make your fitting rooms habitable by a civilized human male of average build?
For the price, I think you'd be hard-pressed to find a better udon noodle in this town.
It'd be nice if they made takeout easier here. As it stands now, you have to awkwardly self-pour the entire contents of your meal into a too-small styrofoam container. That's unfortunate.
Also: the parking at the Mitsuwa shopping complex during lunch is a Hobbsian state of war of eache against alle. Even so, it's still worth fighting for a spot to enjoy some Sanuki noodles...

The waterfront seating on the balcony is a real plus, and the food is a slight cut above the usual Marina fare as well. I particularly like the "special burger" and the "no cream of broccoli" soup.
They're obviously still working out the service kinks here and seem to be in need of what the business world would call "process." The last two times I've been, my waiter has seemed harried and rush despite the place being nowhere near booked to capacity. A parade of different bussers also come by to awkwardly clear plates (but seemingly never to refill water.) Fortunately for the wait staff, the outdoor setting is enough to lower people's blood pressure so they don't get too upset about the various dining indignities brought about by inattentive and ill-planned service...

I tried quite a few dishes during our visit here and found each one well-prepared and presented. All the while - the buzz of the space kind of propelled us through our meal. The bar crowd was lively; I'd like to come back and be a part of that some night...
Until then, I'd recommend Le Saint Amour for anyone looking for to put some causal *verve* into an evening meal in Culver City.
