My buddy took me here claiming it was REALLY good and upon walking in, my first thought was this was another one of your typical korean sushi places. Service was nice and friendly and we were seated immediately. At first glance on the menu, there is nothing too extravagant, strictly sushi and a few staple "non-sushi" items as well. I wasn't in the mood for fish so i decided to go for the combo dinner. Rice with salad and a choice of 3 items from a list. I chose Mixed Tempura, Chicken Teriyaki, and Pork Katsu. I thought to myself "well, this is sorta expensive for whatevers japanese food" that was until the first item came out... Miso soup... my friend used to work here and he was PRAISING miso soup... REALLY? are you sure? took a sip and everything was clear.... i asked him if it was instant soup.. Nope! made fresh daily. Hell, even the dressing for the side salad was good! Tempura had an incredibly light, golden crispy batter and the chicken and katsu were also excellent! I'm so sorry i doubted your authenticity. Tried a few of my friend's different rolls as well, they were great! If i ever drive 95 miles over to my friends house in Pearblossom again, I would not hesitate for a second to come back to this fine establishment!

Now, my poor rating could possibly be from what i ordered, but that wasn't the full story. I ordered the sliders which came with 3 small different burgers. None of them impressed me much, they were cooked medium which is the only choice for sliders but it was only medium in the very center, the rest was a little too cooked (probably due to the small size). The Hostess seemed extremely unhappy when I arrived with my friends and when i left i said bye, she bid me farewell with the same sad state of emotion... kinda killed it. As i was saying, the burgers lacked any "interesting" flavors despite the delicious description in the menu. The sliders were quite small and overall just didn't impress me as far as taste. Even though each burgers used different beef, they all tasted much the same. Presentation was pretty and the fat fries were pretty good but that just didn't cut it for a $20+ bill... i was gonna go for the ballin 60 dollar burger with truffles etc but opted not to at the last moment. Now im curious how that would have been. hahaha

Hmm lets see, it was in Cypress located in a sketchy alley behind a bar.. haha the line wasnt too bad but then again i was one of the last people to line up with a few friends. We all decided to get the burritos. 3 beef and one veggie. Honestly i think i would have enjoyed the tofu more than the meat... The meat was caramelized and everything but... It lacked that delicious smokey flavor you exibit when eating korean BBQ. There was cheese inside but only half was melted, the other half was cold. The abundance of sauces proved fail in this instance too! There was a lot of sauce for the meat and also alot in the salad, this resulted in a salty burrito.. Not too enjoyable. Maybe it was just this time it wasn't good... i'll be back!

i probably would have rated it higher if i got something else, but i decided to splurge and get the 4-cheese pasta.. bad idea. haha the only other thing i ate that day was a homemade 3cheese egg quesadilla so the cheese was overwhelming! It hit my stomach like a brick.

The service was adequate, courteous but a bit slow probably because of how crowded it was but im sure it is faster at other times.

Everyone seemed to like thier food and we ordered 3 different cheesecakes. I dont remember the names of them but i liked the chocolate one most.... im not a fan of a million flavors so i probably would have enjoyed just a regular one most. But of course we didnt get that one. haha

my goodness. I can say that it's 90% worth it to drive 40 miles and eat a delicious ice cream sandwich here. With infinite choices and super low prices, i decided to go with one side macadamia/white chocalate, other white chocalate with vanilla ice cream. It wasnt exactly what i expected, the cookies werent soft, but i actually LOVED how it all came together. the crunch from the sweet cookies followed by the savory taste of vanilla ice cream.. Tasted so great together. I tried eating it "sandwich style" but ice cream kept oozing out. I ended up just using a spoon everytime the oozing occured. Mmmm. Cant  go wrong with the price and next time i'll DEFINTELY get the 50 cent milk carton to go with it. The lines look long, but they move fairly quickly so it's no big deal. Be prepared to stand and eat though! there is no sitting room!

I was driving to my friend's shop to get my car fixed, saw him pulling out the street so i pointed my car straight at his and stopped. He invited me to pick up some Hawaiin BBQ. Of course i was thinking of the standards like Ono or something.... You know those little chains. No we come to this place and i am not impressed or unimpressed. He swore it was the best thing ever so i took his word for it. Even though i wasn't hungry at all i ordered some. On the way back to the shop i juggled 2 of 4 drinks in my hands while his idiot Intergra that was slammed to the ground tested my holding powers. All i gotta say is.... It was totally worth it. BBQ Beef... Moist, fall of bone to the max, massive portions, and thier sauce just perfectly compliments the meat. I do think that they should reduce the sauce though, make it stick to the meat more. i kept pouring more but most of it just fell straight into the container.

I couldnt finish all of it naturally, instead i left in the fridge for 2 hours, thought about taking it home, then threw it in the microwave and devoured the rest!! It was the most full i've ever been in years... I'm not coming back for a WHILE though. This is by far the most unhealthy thing i ate ever. I couldnt resist eating all that fat... it was so soft. haha

2.Frog Legs somethingfriedAWESOME!
3.Yang Chow Fried FAIL....

haha i must say i already knew the yang chow wasnt gonna be good, i didnt order it so i cant complain. But everything else was GREAT! The filet was extremely tender and the frog was very tasty too! Perfectly seasoned.. Very solid restaurant with a very wide selection! Come try, you wont be dissapointed =]

oh be careful though, some items (like the frog) is quite costly... 15 BUCKS! it wasnt even that big of a portion :( haha oh well it was BOMB

Forgive me as this is the first time i've ever had this kind of food... It was amasing! I really craved steak but my concience told me to find something more wild! I narrowed it down to either the Pollo Crema or the chicken and rice and cheese plate (forgot the name) I LOVE CHEESE. But since my sister got the pupusa with cheese in it we decided to try the Pollo Crema. OMFGOMFGOMFGOMFGOMFGOMFGOMFGOMFGOMFGOFMGOFMGFOGMFO GMFOGMFOGM HOLY SHI....

Yeah... Hahaha I was honestly full after 3 bites cuz it was my breakfast and it was already 2pm! but i still finished the whole thing.. lol The chicken was delectable, still crispy under the slightly sour and spicy cream... EXTREMELY moist as well! I thought the pupusa and tortillas were okay but it was kinda dry? dont know if this is how it should be or not. I agree the service could have been better but honestly the food more than makes up for it. I will come back soon to try the bistec and also the pollo con arroz y queso or whatever the real name is.. haha YUMMMMMMMY!

On one of my extremely rare adventures to San Diego, i decided to come here after NOT reading any reviews and drooling over the Hamburg pics. Not a good choice... I was gonna go with the standard delicious Chopstix but after seeing the hamburg on TV the other day i couldn't resist! Upon entering, no one greeted us... After a minute or so someone came out and got us a table. Like what Hannah said, they werent rude, just not good timing. The food was pretty good but quite costly for such a small serving - ESPECIALLY after driving 87 miles just to get there. i was starved! haha

Food came out promtly and i didn't care what came out... i just downed it. One thing i noticed, some people probably wouldn't mind but they take away the plates alot.. I mean taking some of the less-useful ones is alright  but at the end of dinner they cleared out just about everything besides the drinks. I'm sorry tajima, you've caught be on a bad day, maybe you can redeem yourself next time im down there :D
