Unlike it's big brother, Mavericks, which is nearby, the Jetty is usually pretty manageable and a decent place for all levels of surfers. When Linda Mar is crowded or closing out, this beach can be a great refuge.
Not great parking (there's a paid lot or the side of the road) and no showers, but this could be one of your favorite surf spots if you try it out.

Another tattoo artist, Giotto, did a great job of taking Karen's work and putting it into a digital form that I can use. The rest of the staff have been very friendly and nice, too.
Now I just need to book a tattoo appointment so I can some work done.
After catching a nasty bug after surfing near the south part of Linda Mar, I did some research to find out that they area near the creek is frequently polluted beyond safe recreational levels.
Check out Earth911 for beach water quality:

My suggestion is to stay north of Taco Bell since it seems the water issues are localized around the mouth of San Pedro Creek.
I was always suspicious of this area because it frequently has smelled bad when I was down at this end surfing. Since Linda Mar is the easiest surf spot to get to from the East Bay, I tend to go there when I have limited time to surf and generally think it's an OK spot - especially when it's too big elsewhere. How disappointing that I have to check water quality every time now. It seems like this is the dirty little secret of Pacifica.
Sure, if you walk along from the parking lot near NorCal Surf Shop, you'll see a sign tucked away near the creek that says the water quality is not fit for swimming, but it isn't obvious (and I look for such signs more frequently than others, I'd wager) and it suggests that the creek and not the ocean in front is a danger.
You can learn more about the problem:

If Pacifica benefits from all of us surfers coming to town, the least the city and state could do is make sure that we're safe from fecal coliform bacteria in the lineup. No one should have to surf in sewage!

Trust me, the weather's not that bad out there!
While visiting, please remember to respect the wildlife and their habitat. Too often, I see people up in the dunes or scaring the birds by jogging through them or letting their dogs off leash where it is illegal. Remember, there are birds threatened with extinction, the Western Snowy Plovers, and other shorebirds that call OB home and that are easily stressed when you get too close.
Share the shoreline and do your activities where they have the least impact. The ocean and Ocean Beach thank you.
We are so lucky to have a place to escape city life for a little bit and stare out into the Pacific. If you're a surfer, what more could you ask for in a city, but to have waves to surf? (OK, maybe warmer water... sure.)

I had come here a few times before and was excited to see that they were still there. I used to frequent this place regularly when I lived nearby.
I liked that I could order my acai bowl in a real bowl with a compostable bio-plastic spoon (though a real spoon would have been nicer). The ingredients all tasted pretty good. I got the "da cove", which is the smaller and it was a tad small for the price, but tasted pretty ono if you ask me. Beats going to Jamba Juice in my book.
Someone ordered the fish wrap and it smelled up the place. I decided not to dispel my happy feelings and didn't ask what kind of fish they serve. At least I didn't see shrimp on the menu so that's another plus.
Overall, price was OK, but a little high by my standards ($7 or so), but then again so is just about everything in Hawai'i. I will definitely be coming back whenever I'm in the neighborhood for sure. Glad I got to go because the first time I came before 10AM, they were closed. Otherwise, go check them out.
