This place is alright...just alright.  Yes, we have a wicked view of the bay and the USS Midway.  I just wish I had a bigger kitchen.  And a washer and Dryer that wasn't 4 floors below me, especially when the elevator in my part of the building has been under repairs for 2 months!

Not that I'm bitter or anything...

Other than that, it's a nice place to live.  Quiet area and from our place we don't hear the trains as much as other residents seem to.  Love being able to walk to places but not being right in the middle of downtown.

Nice addition to the neighborhood.  Have stopped in here a few times for a drink or two.  Great ambiance and friendly staff.  I've had some appetizers and have found everything to be delicious and great quality.  Little pricey, but being in the Marina District I'm assuming they are going for the upscale clientele.

Happy hour is only until 6pm which is a bit of a bummer, by the time I get through traffic and get home it's already over.  But it is great to have a place with some personality right around the corner for evenings where I want a cocktail but don't necessarily want to go to the Gaslamp.

I've been going to SVY for about 6 months and love it!  It's down the street from where I work so it super easy to stop in before or after work.  They have a ton of classes and all of the teachers are great!

I also like that it's Warm Yoga and not Hot Yoga.  I get a pretty good sweat with the 80 degree classes, I couldn't even imagine doing a Bikram style class at 104 degrees.

They have plenty of showers to accommodate people who go before or during their work day.  Parking lot gets packed during the popular classes but they have an arrangement with UBOC that anyone can park there and walk across the street.

Love this place!  We've brought our little terrier here for boarding, daycare and grooming and we know we are leaving him in great hands each time we drop him off.  At the end of every visit they send us home with a report on how the visit was and they have a web cam so you can check in on the pups.  Would recommend them to anyone!

Great little comedy club located in the lower level of Tipsy Crow.  Place was packed and comedians were great.  Nice to have something to do besides eat and drink downtown.  Not that there is anything wrong with that of course : )

Nothing better than a nice relaxing day getting pampered!  As a reward for surviving another grueling semester at SDSU, I booked myself a 90 minute facial at Sente Bella Day Spa.  Since I live downtown I can just walk to their location on W G Street, which means I don't have to spend 10 minutes circling around for a stupid parking spot.  So I'm already feeling super relaxed by the time I get there!

You'd think 90 minutes is way too long to have someone work on your face but the time flew right by.  Sente Bella has nice and cozy treatment rooms with warm blankets and soothing music help set the mood.  The esthetitian took her time and gave my skin the TLC it needed by using lots of great smelling products. Best part was at the end I wasn't pressured at all to buy any of the products.  They didn't even bring it up.  Score!  And also included in the 90 minute facial is a foot massage and scalp massage.

I'll be back for sure next time I'm feeling super stressed and need a relaxing afternoon to myself.

Big San Diego Blackout 2011

As blackouts go, this one was kinda lame.  It happened while I was in class at SDSU.  I had been reading on twitter that power was out everywhere but we still had power and my professor was still boring...I mean teaching our class.  Finally we got our turn and campus was evacuated.  After almost 2 hours in my car sitting in traffic I finally made it home. Once I had a beer the evening instantly got better!

I'd give the Blackout another try, maybe on a day where it isn't excruciatingly hot outside.  And maybe not on the first NFL game of the season. Maybe we can do this again in a month or so?

Wow.  I love supporting local businesses in downtown but I don't think I'll be going here again.  The bf and I headed over to try it out.  He loves bbq so a new place we could walk to was a bit exciting.

I had a very bland salad.  Nothing to write home about.  My boyfriend had ribs which he said were "tough, had hardly any meat and slathered in way too much sauce."

Salad, Rib Meal, 2 Beers = $50 Whaatt?!?  I think if the cost wouldn't have been more similar to the meal quality then I'd give this another star.  We could have driven to Phil's and had the same meal for much, much less.

I'm a vegetarian but my boyfriend is a meat lover for life.  So on his quest to find the perfect bbq place, I appreciate places that have more veggie choices then mac and cheese and cole slaw.

We heard about the new bbq place in Hillcrest and headed over to give it a shot.  Amazingly I loved this place and my bf is on the fence.  There were tons of veggie options!  I went with the Veggie salad since I wasn't super hungry.  Bad choice I guess because the portion was huge, I couldn't even finish it.  What I did eat was amazing though.  It was your standard green salad with avocado, corn, peppers, mushrooms and more.  It was served with ranch dressing but I decided to use the BBQ sauce on the table instead.

Can't wait to go back and try the other veggie friendly menu offerings.  Or maybe I'll just get this salad again.  It was that good.

Great independent coffee shop in the Marina District.  We live just across the street so find ourselves heading over there frequently for food and drinks out on the patio.

Service is always quick and the staff are friendly.  Dogs are allowed on the patio so we like having a place we can bring our pup to.

Wish they were open longer on the weekends but they close at 2pm everyday.  A few years ago they tried staying open later but I guess they didn't get enough business.
