You go here because it's ridiculously cheap -- it's that simple. The fish is passable -- it's not bad, but it's never great. Given that, stick to the rolls. I recommend the green carpet, house special, and ginza rolls. One order of edamame is enough food to feed Somalia for a week. I go here regularly and dinner for two with a couple drinks usually comes to about $30, sometimes less. With such low prices, it's busy just about every night of the week. The decor is nothing to write home about, but not offensive. The atmosphere tends to be loud, but fun. The service isn't great.

There are no Americanized rolls to be found here, just basic sushi. That said, the sushi is incredibly good. Every cut of fish I had was flawless and melted like butter. The seaweed they use is unusually good also -- they make a point of highlighting this on the menu and as they bring out any dishes with seaweed they insist that you eat them immediately, rather than waiting for everyone's food to arrive. The restaurant is small, but well-decorated. An excellent choice for a date. The popular thing to order is the fixed "Trust Me" menu for $27.

Here right now. Flatbread was good. Pea and ricotta pasta was excellent. Brussel sprouts were not great. Asparagus with poached egg was okay, but not very interesting. Tuna tartar had no flavor and the chips it came with were stale. Service at the bar left quite a but to be desired. Ambiance is good and the Grenache is delicious. Strawberry shortcake was okay.
The menu is small, but intentionally so, and everything is inexpensive and delicious. Nothing is over $10. Be sure to try the spicy tuna and the bread pudding. The beer selection is strong -- 24 beers on tap and no Bud Lite in sight! They inherited a great spot from the restaurant that used to be there, so the decor is quite good. The atmosphere is warm and the proprietor is friendly and entertaining.
LuLu probably wouldn't stand out quite as much in Los Angeles or New York, but for Mammoth it's pretty good (most of the food I had in Mammoth was lousy and overpriced).
The ravioli dish and the carrot and parsnip side are definitely the thing to order. Their pizza is good, but nothing to write home about. The wine selection is excellent. Prices are somewhat on the expensive side, but not totally unreasonable, especially for a ski town.

The food is bland and way overpriced. Each of the rolls we ordered had too much rice and too little flavor. We even ordered some of the spicier rolls, which somehow managed to be spicy, but still lifeless.
I strongly recommend against this place.

I eat Indian food often and really like the food at Akbar. However, I've known some people who also eat a lot of Indian food to give their food a so-so rating. Personally, my only complaint is that the prices for dinner have gotten a bit too steep since they redecorated. Lunch is a good deal though.

There are a lot of Indian restaurants in West LA and Santa Monica, but this is my favorite.
Very good food, but very slow service. It usually takes about an hour to get delivery (maybe more) and the wait times in the restaurant are long as well. That said, I still order their food often, because it's quite good. The staff is friendly too.
Not very good Indian food - there are much better places in the area. The dahi puri is good, but the rest of our food was way too salty and otherwise uninteresting.
