I been meaning to go to Kerrie's Kafe but each time I go out for lunch I would forget.  Finally one of my coworkers reminded me and I thought I had to try it.  It is definately a hiddent gem and little hard to find with out the Iphone.  It located in the back in a business park so there is no signage on the outside.  I heard the food is good and the prices are reasonable.  Plus the portions are huge.  Today I decided to try there Turkey Panini and with soup of Chicken Veggie with Rice.  Total was only $6.75.  The soup was good and I think homemade.  Was not oily at all and went perfectly well my Turkey Panini.  The panini was a bit on the greasy side but taste really good. I can't wait to go back and try other dishes.  They have tons of choices and alot of specials for the day.   Kerrie who is the daughter is super nice and so sweet.

Thanks Jeff, Gina, and Maria for telling me about this place.

Will be back again.

Another Chinatown tourist souvenir shops. As usual these items are usually over priced. I only came because my sister was looking for a gift for her bf's mom. She was taking care of her dog. This is one of the bigger stores in Chinatown that sells all sorts of souvenirs. They even sell tiaras, I told my sister Miss Chinatown. Alot of stuff to look at and I am sure you will find something. Will probably pass by again when I am in Chinatown.

I been craving for a Panini Sammie.  Even to the point of thinking of buying a panini press.  I know crazy right?  I had this place bookmarked for awhile now and I thought why not check it out before I go to the city to meet up with my sister.  So Saturday came and I thought let check it out for lunch.  It was not hard to find but I came at the end of the Farmer's Market and they was just starting to shut down.  Parking was a little hard but I found a spot.  It was a very quiet cafe but the set up is interesting for sure.  The guy who helped me was very nice at the counter.  I end up ordering a Grilled Chicken and a Soy Chai Latte.  He was going to give me regular milk and I told him very bad idea.  He then remember soy.  Overall it was a nice quiet lunch and the sammie was good.  Cheesy and of course anything goes well with cheesy.  It came with a side salad.  I will be back when the craving hits me to have a panini sammie again.

Toys R Us

I remember as a kid Toys R Us was like a fantasy land and was always happy when I am in the store. That always means something new to play with. Since I have not been to Toys R Us for a long time and coming in as an adult. My reaction was like OMG!! It was totally not the same. I came to look for a toy call Prime 8. Its a robotic toy, yellow, and has a ape as his face. What I pictured it before was a yellow ape that moves.

So I decided to try to find this Prime 8 myself. Walking around the store I felt I needed a map, there was so much toys everywhere it was like having ADD. I figured it was a boys toy, so went over to the boys section. Everything now is divided by brands so that didn't make it easier on me. The whole time I was thinking I need a child. Only a child would know where to find this toy. Desperate for help I went to seek out an associate. I found one and was very helpful. He didn't know exactly where the toy was so we had to go back to customer service. Keep in mind this was in the front of the store. Who ever designed the customer service area was off his rocker that day. There was a shelving of toys that divided the customer service table in half. I had to run around the shelving to get to the other side. My associate found the toy and I had to run after him to keep up while the whole time saying "Excuse me" to all the other shoppers in the store. Got the toy finally and well of course it didn't come with batts. I did my part and someone else can get the batts.

Overall I was surprised how organized the store was and not so many shoppers as the one in Sunnyvale. It will be awhile till I step into another Toy R Us but I will for sure keep this one in mind.

I passed by before this place and always wanted to eat there. Its a nice looking restaurant and trendy. On the weekends during the summer alot of peeps here just mingling at the bar or people watching but good luck finding a seat.

It was nice to go to dinner last night, was not busy at all. Then with the holidays pending and the rain storm it was just perfect. Alex and I have not been out for a nice meal for awhile so this was a treat.

The tapas and drinks was good. I wish in some ways we didn't order the entrees, not saying they are bad but the tapas outshine them. Due to the storm they could not get certain fish on there menus but they substituted So for the Halibut they had Sea bass for the Wahu they had Mahi Mahi. So that was good.

So this what we had:

Croquettes - Cuz I was in a fried mood. It was perfect and the fondue cheese sauce was great

Mango Chili Red Snapper ceviche - Was very good, full of flavor. Besides the lime juice they added the zest which made it more lime flavor.

Short Rib Tacos - Our waitress suggestion we try it. I think why not but maybe last night it was off. I honestly had better. It was on a the bland side and was lacking salt or more lime. It needed something.

Roasted Beet Carpaccio - This was really good. The beets was sweet with the saltiness of the cheese was very good and the smoothness of the avocado and the greens was just yummy.

Tamarind Glazed Grilled Mahi Mahi - This dish was very Asian to me. It was on the sweeter side with the glazed but the coconut rice went well with it. Fish was perfectly cooked.

Sea bass with Spanish White Bean and Bilbao Chorizo - This fish was perfectly cooked. This dish was alright to me but Alex loved it more than the Mahi Mahi. While I think I liked the Mahi Mahi better.

Overall dinner was great. Drinks was not bad here. I had the White Peach Sangria. Alex had a Q-Tini and of course Scotch. Our waitress Heather checked up on us and overall a wonderful experience. I would come back but probably would like to try out more tapas than the entrees. I think the tapas taste better than the entrees for flavor.

I never been to Bon Chon Chicken but someone brought over chicken from them at the party.  Of course having a few drinks already and starving to eat I had to try some.  Chicken was good but I didn't know some spicy and others was not.  I got luck the night of the part of not getting a spicy one but the next day was a different story.  Spicy was spicy for me and a little to spicy.  I know you should not rip off the skin of the chicken but it was just to much and I could not take it anymore I had to do it.  My mouth was on fire. Overall the chicken is not bad and I would like to check out this place and try there other dishes.

Hot Pot Palace Buffet

I always pass by here and I been here before when it was a Dim Sum place.  I finally got to try and check out this place on Black Friday.  I had lunch my friend Julie.  She had heard great things about this place from her mom and I of course from my Yelp friends.

The layout is still the same but they put in buffett tables for all the different veggies, meats, dessert, and dim sum you can have.  I was surprised they didnt change out the tables but instead of little pots of broth that comes to your table and is warm and heated by...what are those things called for chaffing trays?  The little warmer for it.  Well that's what keeps the soup warm and how you cook your meat in your soup.  Love that they have 4 different kind of soup bases but I end up getting the Mushroom one and I should have gotten the Tum Yum one cuz I think that would have been more flavor than the one I got.

I try out some of the dim some but they didnt have Ha Gow which I was disappointed but overall not bad.  As for the hot pot it was fun to cook at the table and put whatever you wanted but it was so small that if you put to many items it tends to overflow.  Plus if you wanted to eat more, I was not sure if they would refill your broth.  Service was kinda eh!  They didnt check up on us and half the time we had to ask for water.  I think they was short of staff and took us forever to pay.

Overall I would try this place again and hope service gets better.

I been wanting to come to Arcadia for awhile now, but trying to someone to go with me is another issue.  Then SV Restaurant week happen and I thought why not.  It was a perfect opportunity to check out a place I wanted to go at an affordable price.  I checked out the menu and was stoked and for $35 bucks it was not bad.  Of course as Yelpers we ordered a few things off the menu to try too.

Truffle Mac and Cheese - It was good and creamy but the truffle was not as strong as I would like.

Kumamoto Oysters -  These was okay but I had better.  They were not as sweet.

Duck Fries -  From the raves of other yelpers I expected them to be hella ducky.  Like you was eating duck.  You got a hint of the duck but it taste like normal fries.

Squash Soup -  I wish I didn't order this.  It was alright but the Bone Marrow tasted so much better and full of flavor than the soup.

Salmon with Lentils -  This was very good.  Salmon was perfectly cooked and the lentils had a good bite to them.

Bread Pudding -  I know I am truly bias after having Bread Pudding at Chaya but this is more of a normal bread pudding.  It was dense and bit on the heavy side.  I did enjoy the Pear ice cream it came with.  That was refreshing.

Overall food was not bad but the service was great.  Wine was great. Great company.  Can't go wrong.

Thank to all who came to dinner.  I hope you had fun and had a good evening.
