Cool place to come hangout with friends for a day out at the beach in Laudy.  Nothing fancy, not too crowded the times I've been but, good music and good drinks.

There are pool tables on the back, darts, and other games.

Good place to start your barhopping day.

Saturday with friends decide to start here for lunch and drinks.
The hostess is not rude but not too welcoming either.  I try to not pay attention to that since we got an outside table right away.  Place us packed, you have the beach right in front if you, they have huge drinks...  Seems like we selected the right place.  Location wise yes, now, our choice of food and drinks not so much.

We decided to get the 2 for 1 Giant Margaritas.  These are sweet, loaded with ice and get watered down in no time.  When we got the check, these were like $30 for the 2 for 1.  NEVER AGAIN!!!   Extremely overpriced for a drink that wasn't even good.  One of my friends didn't even drink it - she didn't like it at all - and immediately was told she still had to pay for it (without us

As for the food, I ordered the shrimp quesadilla and was not great.  Just a bunch of cheese with flavorless shrimp - disappointing.  Shrimp was not seasoned at all, they look like cocktail shrimp without the sauce.  Needless to say I did not finish this either.

On top of that restrooms are dirty and smelly.

Again, location is good, our server was nice (he even moved our table inside when it seemed it would start raining soon) but, if ever here, stay away from the Margaritas and always ask for the drinks special price before ordering to avoid the expensive surprise we got.

El Jefe Luchador

I am addicted to this place, especially their Shrimp Tacos A.K.A El Ray.  I could probably have this every week and not get tired of them.

The tortillas are made fresh - real Mexican flavor - not store bought.  The crispy shrimps are on top of spicey mayo, guacamole, cabbage slaw, and, on top of this all, what they call "street style" which is chopped onions, cilantro, and diced tomatoes.  Try it with or without, you'll love it either way.

Their guacamole is equally delicious, and their chips, freshly made there too so, they're out hot and crispy.  You'll want to try one right away.

The tacos and quesadillas are small so you might want to order two or add a side to make it a meal.  Now, El Nacho Libre (nachos with your choice of meat, jalapeño cheese, refried beans, jalapeño pickles, cream, pico de gallo, guacamole, and street style) is big and so good.

I'm telling you, it's addictive...  Not one bad thing here plus the decor is fun.  Lucha Libre masks on one wall, pictures of more wrestling on another, which entertains you while waiting for your freshly made order to be ready.

I highly recommend El Jefe, and now, craving a shrimp taco again!

Just like the one in Fort Lauderdale, this is a great place to go have some drinks and stay for a night out dancing.  The music is always good and diverse for everyone to enjoy.

Inside is trendy, dark, inviting you to dance with two bars.

Good difference between this one and the Fort Lauderdale location is that Delray has an outside area, with tables great for happy hour or a date without the loud atmosphere inside but still enjoying the music and people watching.

I've been to a couple of "churrasquerias" before and thought, once you've tried one you've tried them all.   I mean, yes you can taste some difference in the seasoning of the meat but, thought sides offered were the same everywhere.  Well, I was wrong.

Here they have more options at the "sides/ salad" bar.  Soup, rice, beans, vegetables, pasta salad, potato salad, shrimp ceviche, crab meat, and more.  On top of that, they serve, at the table, Pon de Queijo (typical Brazilian cheese bread) and breaded fried bananas (a first for me).  Plus, even though it's not cheap, still was less $ than the others I've been to.

Another first was the grilled pineapple, it goes well with the meat and, according to the servers, it's good for digestion.  I called it free dessert, it was sweet and delicious.

The staff was very attentive and friendly, they would take their time when stopping at our table to offer us the different cuts of meat and talked with us, making jokes, and making sure we had the cuts we liked.

To make this even better, add a caipirinha (or two), and you're experience here will be complete.

Yelp Elite Event At Yolo

One of my first events, as a +1, was here at YOLO.  I remember meeting so many new and amazing people, and having a great time.  Couple of years now passed, we found ourselves at the same venue with a "new" CM, some familiar faces, some new but still the same great time!

It's so good to see how Miami Yelp keeps growing, how people I met on my first events are now friends and are always happy to welcome the new ones.

I love the "Ice Breaker" games Monica's been doing to get us talking and to know each other, and the setting was perfect for this.  Open bar, delicious food, great music, people dancing...  The way the sofas and chairs were arranged made it easy for everyone to meet and talk comfortably.

Of course, the fact that this event was in Fort Lauderdale, was another plus.  As I always say, I don't mind the drive to see my Yelp friends but, it was nice to cut that drive in half this time.

Thank you Monica (Yelp Miami) for another amazing event and integrating the 561s and 954s to this wonderful community.

Direct From Philly

If you've read my review for Lost Weekend (http://www.yelp.com/us...), you would know how I love the Philly Cheesetake with Whiz.  Well, lunchtime comes around, not sure what to eat, I go to my trusty Yelp App. and look for nearby restaurants, just 5 minutes away from work is Direct From Philly.

Checked their menu online and there's a good amount of offerings: traditional Philly Cheestake with onions and whiz, Philly with onions and provolone, chicken Philly, Philly fries, and more.  To all sandwiches you can add peppers, mushrooms, and other toppings.

I, of course, had the traditional Philly Cheestake with mushrooms.  Made to order, messy and delicious = perfect!

They are located inside a gas station store, with just a few chairs and counter space to eat-in so I recommend take-out or delivery.   The guys are really nice, friendly, and attentive...  Great service!  They get busy at lunchtime, especially on Fridays so, if you're in a rush, call ahead.  Believe me, it's worth the 20 minutes wait.  Once you try it you'll see for yourself.  They will be seeing me, and my coworkers, again.

Shinju Japanese Buffet

Found this place thanks to some of my yelper friends.  They all agreed on how good Shinju is and I join them.

Every time I've gone we are seated almost immediately and, since it's buffet, you don't have to wait, just get a plate and eat.  The choices are vast:  salad, noodles, rice, chicken and steak cooked in different ways and sauces, clams, oysters, mussels, shrimp, dumplings, crab rangoons, soups, and more.  Then you have all the sushi rolls and sashimi...  They even have a hibachi area (are you hungry yet???)

You'll probably want to try it all but that will take several visits.  So far I have not had one bad thing here.  Everything tastes fresh, they don't let things sit there for long.

For dessert they have assorted cakes and pastries but can't comment on those since the only thing I go for is the Green Tea Ice Cream, one of the best part of Japanese buffets, if you ask me (they have other flavors too).

To drink they offer sodas, juice, tea, wine, beer or sake.

This is an "all you can eat" so go hungry and enjoy.

It's not often I get the chance to come here but the last two times I have, they have earned that one more star.  It has this laid- back, not pretentious atmosphere, which is a welcoming break from the rest of South Beach.

They have  a good selection of beers, both bottle and tap, plus, full bar, pool tables, and, on this particular night, guys betting they'll run around naked if they lose (glad I missed the end of that). :p   Cool bartenders, but don't call the girls "babe" or you'll be served last and not nicely.

Also here you will find THE BEST Philly Cheese Steak (w/Whiz) I've had, and their fries...  Yum!  I've always had a bite of someone else's Philly but this time it was all mine (well, as much as I could eat - they're big) and it was heaven.

Add to this a a great group of friends and you are guaranteed a fun night.

My first time here and glad it was with my yelper friends - wouldn't have known of it (or found it) if it wasn't for them.  Probably would have just passed it and not even consider looking in but glad the introduced me to it.

It's a small bar, with pool tables inside.  Drinks are cheap in comparison to the rest of the prices in that area.  Reminds me a bit of the bars in Fort Lauderdale, not pretentious, laid back, just go to chill and have a good time with friends.

Bartenders are quick and friendly, and don't hold back when pouring whatever your drink of choice.  They also have a good selection of beers, both bottled and draft.  To top it off, The Alibi is located inside this bar...  Everyone was telling me how good the food is here.  Cooked to order, quick friendly service.  I tried the Philly Cheese steak (with Cheese Whiz) - absolutely delicious.

Definitely glad I know now this place exists.

Love this venue!  Be it for festivals or (my most recent visits) for concerts.
Manu Chao, Jarabe de Palo, and more...  I've sung and danced to their songs, both on assigned seats and lawn.  This last seating section is my favorite because it gives you more liberty to dance, walk around, and has better access to all the food and drink vendors, and still a good view of the show.

I always try to get my tickets beforehand, the "will call" can get crazy but, other than that, the events are organized and the people working them are nice if you are.
