Sushi House Goyemon

Great fresh sushi here. Make sure you sit at the sushi bar though so you can interact with the sushi chefs, who are all very cool and like to talk. A wide variety of rolls makes for some very interesting and intriguing options. You have to go with the all-you-can-eat deal as well. For $28, you can go to town on anything they have on the menu, which includes appetizers, nigiri, and rolls. Sometime the place is really packed and since its kinda small, you have to wait for a while, but it is definitely worth it. The location is kind of hidden on the end of a strip-mall, but there is plenty of parking available. I have eaten here many times and its great every time. Plus they have a loyalty card program as well after 10 times dining in you get a free meal. Definitely one of my favorite sushi places in Vegas.

For above fast food mexican food, cant be beat. cheap prices. good quality of food. great taste. I really like the 3-cheese burrito or 3-cheese nachos. Having the choice between black and brown beans is also very good in my opinion. Location is very convenient for me being near my house. And I would absolutely put Qdoba up there with Chipotle quality of food.

An excellent movie theater in a great location. Very comfortable seats. Been here about 4 times now and its never been crowded. The screens that I have seen movies on have great projection and the sound has always been top notch. Really like the nachos as well.

Bought a http://Restaurant.com coupon to try this place out and Im glad that I did.

Great food. Great vibe. Convenient location. Excellent service. About the only thing that I didnt like about the place was the weakness of the specialty drinks. They were actually very disappointing. But other than that, I would recommend to anyone I know to try it out. I know Ill be back again.

Burger Lounge

One of the best burgers Ive ever had...and its right down the street from my house. Burger Lounge makes an incredible burger. The flavor of the beef is so good...so juicy...so tasty...you just wonder how they make it taste so good. LOL. The fries and the onion rings are also very very good. Now, I think the prices are a little bit higher than other places, but if you are getting a better quality product, its ok to pay a little bit more. And of course one of the big reasons I like this place...location. Its great that this Burger Lounge is right over in Little Italy and I can get there in like 10 mins walking. Definitely go have a burger over at Burger Lounge and enjoy...!

After waiting what seemed like yrs for this restaurant to open, of course it does when Im out of the country. LOL. So, I had to stop in and try it out now that Im back...and Bice definitely did not disappoint. First off, the design is beautiful. The place is just laid out and set up really well. The wine cellar display is very nice and the cheese bar is a very cool as well. The place has a very intimate feel and it is but sits well for larger groups as well. Can be good for a date spot or a power business group meal. The menu...solid. A good number of appetizers, the variety of cheese selections and a tremendous selection of pastas, fish and meat dishes. The service...top notch. The food...very very tasty. I had a Caesar salad and the Lasagna (which of course takes a little longer to cook) and it was excellent. My friend she had the Zuppetta, an Italian soup, which she said was delicious. Then for dessert, the Marzipan Cake w/ Pear, which was just alright. A really good selection of wine is available by the bottle (and the wine list changes every 3 months) but only a small number of choices by the glass, which was a little strange. All in all, the experience was great. I think the prices were very reasonable and comparable with other Downtown or Little Italy restaurants. Dinner for two with appetizers, wine and desserts came out to $90. I will definitely be going back again to try more of the superb Italian at Bice...a great new add to Downtown SD dining...!

Heavenly Cupcake

Just visited Heavenly (tough to believe since I live right around the corner from it) and it was about what I thought it would be. I went in think that it would be pretty good...and it was pretty good. I just got two mini cupcakes to sample...Banana and Chocolate Vanilla. Both of them were tasty...the frostings especially. As other readers have said...the cake is a little dry. I would assume thats because as the day goes by, the cake has longer to sit out in dry air...though the girl behind the counter said they can sit out up to a day and still taste good. Hummm. I am sure that I will go back and try some of their other flavors so I can say I've tried enough to make an overarching commentary, but for now, I'm satisfied. I can imagine Heavenly being very good when a special order situation arises for events and such.

J Wok

Just dined here for lunch this afternoon and I have to say it was pretty dang tasty. This location has been named so many different things it seems, but hopefully J WOK will stick. I had the Yellow Curry Chicken entree, which came with rice and a salad. I also had the Fresh Spring Rolls for an appetizer. The Spring Rolls were very flavorful and light and the Curry wasnt traditional Thai like...it was definitely sweeter in flavor...and good. And lets say I am very full...you definitely get a good size portion of food for the cost, which was $8 for the entree and $4 for the spring rolls. Not bad for lunch. The menu is very small so your options are kinda limited...this might be good for some people, but others would probably like to see more. And the newly remodeled look inside is very cool as well. Definitely has a loungy feel to it. All in all though, a great new spot for lunch in East Village.

El Vitral

El Vitral certainly is upscale. The decor, the layout, the food, the prices. However, in most cases, the results dont match up with this vibe. Well, in this case it did. Everything about the place was very good, especially the food. The menu is broken down very nicely. They offer three different kinds of Guacamole and three types of Ceviche, along with other appetizers. We had Seared Scallops and the El Vitral Guacamole, which was done with a little mango to sweeten the taste. Both were great. There were a few soup options as well and we had one (dont remember the name) but it hd homney in it and was very tasty. Then the menu breaks down traditional mexican dishes and El Vitral signature dishes (new flare to mexican dishes) for the main courses. We had the duck and the chicken breast dishes respectively, which were both so delicious. Overall, everything was delicious. The service was great from our server, but food was a little slow coming out, which I chalk up to being a new place and working out the kinks. And I havent even mentioned that if you are a tequila lover, this is your place. El Vitral offers over 200 different types of tequila...! So, if you want a new mexican dining experience in Downtown, check out El Vitral. I recommend it.

Siren

Siren is the ultra lounge that San Diego has been waiting for. A beautifully designed and set up rooftop lounge that has an incredibly sexy vibe and aura. Great specialty drinks (you have to try The Firebomb) and really tasty appetizer selections help to set the foundation. Then you throw in incredibly cool music. Mix that with remarkable service from the staff, bartenders and the management. And finally add in the last key ingredient...super chic crowd. And there you have Siren...! Its gonna be the hot "it" spot for Downtown for 2009 so get there and check it out...!
