I came back here after hearing that there was a change of ownership. I have to say, I have changed my mind about this pizza. While, I'm still not completely a fan of NY style Pizza ( a tad too thin for me), I loved the Little Italy. It's their meatball pizza and the spices in the sauce and meatballs were excellent. I've never had a meatball pizza before but I know where to go when I want it again. The meatballs were soft and very flavorful. I've never had ricotta on a pizza before and I loved it. The ambiance of the place is the same--pretty basic. It doesn't look like the interior has changed at all but that's fine by me because what was missing was all the grease that I experienced previously. I'll take that over decor any day.

I really wish I would have consulted Yelp before visiting this place. My boyfriend and I wanted to try something "different". Well, that is what we got. I'll start off by saying that my boyfriend really liked it. This is a guy who will eat the $1 Tostinos pizza so his opinion doesn't count :-)

When we got there around 4:45 there was only one guy up front and it was starting to get backed up. We really didn't have to wait that long for the service or our pizza but it just seemed chaotic.  I decided to try their Hefeweizen and found it to be pretty good!

I guess I'm not a NY style pizza person. I didn't realize that they like their pizza flavorless and full of grease out there. I think this is my first experience with this style but as many times as I've eaten pizza I think I'm probably wrong. I'm not an extremely picky pizza eater (I love Round Table) but this was horrible!  As soon as they sat it down on our table I knew I wasn't going to like it. It wasn't even visually pleasing.

We ordered Da Bronx Bomber with no peppers. I found the meat very tasteless and unappealing. The pizza was saturated in grease. I don't mind grease on my pizza but I don't want to drink it! I'm kinda getting heart burn right now just thinking about it.

The entire time we were there they didn't pick up any of the dirty tables and the staff had about as much personality as the pizza-NONE!

Anytime we are craving pizza and in this area...I'm going to my old faithful ROMA'S!! They know how to do good pizza.

The  stars are for the beer which was actually 4 star beer.

Troon Vineyard

I've done my fair share of winery visits throughout California so when the opportunity came to visit Southern Oregon wineries, I jumped at the chance. I was not disappointed in what they have to offer and one of the wineries that stood out was Troon Vineyard. They have an absolutely beautiful property and I was pleasantly surprised with the lunch and dinner options they have on their "Troon to Table" menu. While we didn't eat there, the food we saw looked amazing.

When we arrived, it was fairly busy at the tasting bar but that didn't stop Chris from getting us set right up. Their tasting flight consisted of two whites and the rest were red wines. White wines aren't my bag so I only tasted the 2010 dry Riesling and it was good but too sweet for my palate. The reds here were the best I tasted out of the 6 wineries we visited that day. The Druid's Fluid (love the name!) was a perfect mix of Merlot, Zin and Cabernet Sauvignon. I will be back to get some of that stuff because it was outstanding. Because I don't have a favorite varietal, I always tend to love the blends wherever I go. The 2007 Humbug Fire reserve cab made my legs melt. And, how awesome is it that they donate a portion of the proceeds of this wine to the firefighters who fight the wild fires in the area?

As wonderful as all the wines here were, I left with one bottle of their 2009 Kubli Bench Zinfandel. It topped the scale but definitely came very close to all the others as my favorite. If money were no object and space (I'm borderline a candidate to be on an episode of "Hoarders" for my wine collection), I would have taken home much more. But, I'll definitely be back!

I finally made it to Taste! I've heard about this place for a few years and had my first experience this past weekend.

It has a very inviting atmosphere and isn't pretentious at all. The wait staff was very friendly and attentive. I really enjoyed my experience and can't wait to go back next month.

After snacking on their wonderful rosemary bread dipped in the best balsamic vinegar and oil mixture I've ever had, I ordered the corn soup and gnocchi plates. It was a tough decision because everything on the menu sounded divine.

The corn soup was great. It was silky with a few crunches of fresh corn mixed in it. It was accented with a goat cheese fritter that complimented the soup perfectly. It was creamy and crunchy. Loved it! The gnocchi was pillowy and had a wonderful flavor from the fresh veggies and surprisingly crispy braised beef. I was able to have a bite of my friend's filet mignon and it was melt in your mouth delicious! I was plenty full but still saved room for dessert.

This was the only disappointment for all of us dining that night. The Taste Chocolate Fix was a trio of warm lava cake, white chocolate mousse and and chocolate semifreddo. Nothing was very chocolaty. The white chocolate mousse was grainy and had a weird after taste. The other two items were very average.  We also had the trio of Creme Brulee. I've actually never had Creme Brulee before because I'm not a fan of anything custard. There was a raspberry and mango brulee and they both reminded me of yoplait yogurt and then a vanilla. I actually thought they were okay compared to how I imagined them to be but everyone at the table said they'd had better.

So, 5 stars for dinner and 3 stars for the dessert.

I have fantastic hair...thanks to Donna! I took my naturally curly hair into her salon with the hope of calming it down and shaping it up. I got that and more. She did a cold smoothing treatment on it (by Matrix) that added shine and took away the 80's permed look. I still have plenty of body and wave left in my hair but no longer have the frizz. A dream come true!

She gave me the cut I've wanted and needed forever. It completely compliments my newer, smoother look.

It's nice to finally find someone who listens to their clients and gives them what they need.

I ventured in here on Sunday while in Dixon and was pleasantly surprised. I'm not big on buffets but since I couldn't decide on one dish, I opted to try it out. Everything was very fresh and tasty. They make your naan for you and give you options on what kind you want. I don't remember what they offered because I'm all about the garlic naan. For one person, they brought out 5 pieces and even let me take the rest home. It was hot, covered in herbs and perfectly garlicky. The best I've ever had.

The buffet had all of my favorite dishes, butter chicken, saag paneer, chicken curry and daal bukhura. All dished exceeded my expectation. There were a couple of vegetable dishes that I'd never tried before that were excellent. One with mushrooms and the other was a mixed veg. They have a small salad selection but next to it was a variety of sauces that were to die for. One in particular was a thick green sauce that tasted of cilantro but I couldn't pin point what was in it. Whatever it was, it was excellent!

For dessert, they offer up a custard with grapes and what I think was gulab jamun. They were both really good and I don't even like custards. The gulab jamun was a little sweeter than I'm used to and I could only handle one.

The service was pretty good. They constantly kept my water filled and were very friendly. I go to Dixon about once and month and will be sure to come back. The buffet was a steal at $9 for lunch.

I pretty much come here whenever I'm in town. The food is always really fresh, fast and the service is the best in town. Every waiter/waitress has a smile and a joke for us. Most of the time we'll receive tequila poppers on the house!

I've had everything from veggie burritos, enchiladas (LOVE their sauce!), carne asada (probably the best I've ever had), nachos, chicken soup and chicken salad. All are superb!

My family can be pretty picky and demanding at times and they always accommodate every need. Their salsa has the perfect kick and their chips are always hot and fresh. I've never heard a complaint from anyone about their meal here. Not only is their food good and service excellent, their items are also inexpensive.

This has been one of my favorite burrito spots for over 10 years! It started out as a good spot to hit after a night of drinking and has become a staple in my burrito eating diet. I only wish I had one near me in Sacramento.

The pollo (grilled or pollo verde), carne asada or vegetarian burritos are the best. They put the right amount of everything on them and I've never had a bad burrito in all the years I've been coming here. It might have something to do with the fact that it's been the same guy serving them up since I can remember.

I have recently been frequenting this place on my trips to Chico and have to say that these are the nicest people ever! Their coffee and breakfast sandwiches (get it on the cheese bagel!) are excellent. I started coming here just as a passenger with my friend who lives close by and now I have to stop on my own when visiting.

You are always greeted with a friendly smile and they make perfect suggestions for the times when I'm not really sure what I want. This last time it was a sugar free, ice blended black and white mocha with an extra squirt of sugar free vanilla syrup. I wouldn't have come up with that on my own had the worker not suggested it. It was excellent and will be my new Summer time drink.

Some people just never learn a lesson and today I was that person. I feel ashamed for being tempted by free hummus (or hummas for those in the know). The person providing food for our meeting today went to Opa Opa. I knew this beforehand and still chose a falafel with side salad. What can I say? I was hungry.  The stomach pain was instant. I had some hummus on a pita, a few bites of my salad and one bite of the falafel and I thought I was going to die. Everyone around me was complaining about their food (too garlicky, weird tasting or greasy) and when they heard where the food was from, they all said, "oh, no wonder."

Never.Again.

I just finished my overpriced lunch from here and I know that if I'm paying for it now...I'll be paying for it even more later.  I tried this place shortly after it first opened and had an excellent meal. I tried it again a few months later and thought it was pretty forgettable.  Today I was in the mood for something a little different so I tried it again and learned my lesson...I guess 3 times is a charm or in this case...NOT.  I ordered the Garlic Chicken Pita. It's very garlicky which is usually good  because I LOVE GARLIC. It was just a big mess though and was missing something. Maybe more greens? I don't know but it just wasn't that great. The pita bread was nice and soft  but the chicken was just ok.  I also wanted to try the Spanikopita (sp?) because I thought that is what I had liked in the past. Ughhh....WRONG! It was not a pillowy layer of spinach, cheese and phyllo. It was an overcooked greasy mess that will be giving me nightmares for days to come. Sorry OPA OPA but while you are extremely convenient for me to go to at lunch. I'll take my $12 somewhere else.
On a positive note...my Mr. Pibb was excellent, the service was friendly and  the wait wasn't that long.

I came here for lunch this week with a friend and we both enjoyed our meals A LOT. While waiting for our table, we saw plates of wonderful burgers and pizzas being placed in front of other diners. I was drooling by the time we went to order!

I ended up getting the chicken, Gorgonzola and onion jam burger (sans the bun), with a Caesar salad instead of fries. My friend had a pizza that I can't remember the name of with sausage, pepperoni, prosciutto and a bunch of other meat on it. My chicken was perfectly cooked and seasoned. I haven't had that moist of a chicken breast in a long time. The onions caramelized in red wine were to die for. It was the perfect flavor combination with the cheese and since I never get up to Nevada City, I have to try to recreate this dish at home. The crisp Caesar salad was perfectly dressed with the excellent house made dressing. I was in heaven.

I didn't try the pizza but my friend said it had the best sauce and she could see why they had won a pizza award. She also ordered the lemon mousse and berry dessert that was fluffy and delicious!

I really liked the vibe here. It was casual but could easily be upscale. The staff was really friendly which was appreciated after getting a not so warm reception at Posh Nosh.
