Had a very pleasant meal here over the weekend. The price/quality ratio here is very good. I ordered the beef bolgogi, and they had run out - so the chef came out from back, apologized, and suggested an alternative. He was friendly, and his recommendation was delicious. Will go back.

I did dropoff laundry service here over the weekend. $24 for a basket full of laundry, washed, dried, neatly folded, socks matched, all wrapped up in a plastic bag, turned around in 2 hours. The guy was super nice and had a great sense of humor. Recommended.

I had an enjoyable meal here last night. Butter chicken, some naan & a beer for $20. Quality of the food was superb, service was quick if a bit lackluster.

I went here for a quick dinner last night and loved it. I had a pho, my friend had a chicken curry. Both were legitimately spicy and flavorful. The dumplings were a delicious appetizer, too. Oh, and they serve yak.

7-Eleven

This place was awesome. I had the Indian buffet lunch upstairs, and I very much enjoyed myself. I admit to being a little disappointed--I had nicknamed the place "Shady Indian" expecting it to be in some back room of the 7-Eleven. But, alas, this place is legit. I spoke with the owner and he told me that it comes from an Indian Garden, I think he said the one in Schaumburg, but that he owns the one on Michigan Ave. Either way, this is legitimate Indian food, served by Indians, made by Indians, available in the loop for lunch.

I had some saag paneer and butter chicken; you can pay by the pound ($6) or all-you-can-eat ($11). Naan was fresh, rice was quality. Granted, the selection is limited because it's a buffet, but for an accessible Indian fix for lunch that you don't need to take a taxi to, give it a try. And forgive the awkwardness of entering through the 7-Eleven; you'll forget all about it once you get upstairs and dig in.

Koryo was a great, unique restaurant in the neighborhood. They just shut down and retooled it into another generic sushi restaurant. Unfortunate, in my opinion, because there are more than enough sushi places.

This place has won best steakhouse for 20 years? Wow, overrated. I had an okay ribeye and a bite of a so-so fillet from friend. I've had better at so many places at home in Chicago that I won't even bother to list them. I don't know where to get a better steak in Vegas, but I'm sure it's out there. Service and ambiance were very good, but this is not the best steak I've had, not by a long shot.

I had a great meal here last night with some friends. We had a pitcher of sangria to start (make that two). For tapas we had ceviche (our favorite, it was shrimp and  squid, so fresh and bright tasting with the lime marinade), warm spinach salad with bacon and mushroom dressing (our second favorite; I love salad that is unhealthy), the mussels (good, but not as good as Hopleaf's in Chicago), fried platanos (complex flavor with bean sauce on the outside, and a sweet banana burst on the inside) and calamari. Good meal. The place was crowded and a little rowdy, even on a Monday night, but I was in the mood for that, as were the friends I was with.

Oh my God, it's Chicken Hut in the loop. Outrageously fast and cheap. Get half a chicken and a side for under $6 (and in about 2 minutes). Get out and on with your life. Perfect!

4 stars for food and ambiance, 3 stars for service. It might have just been that our particular server was lax about checking up on us, but it was a pretty slow experience.

I had a delicious mint mojito cocktail, and my friends had another lime & bourbon drink that was great.

For a appetizers we had some ceviche (with lots of calamari and other squiggly creatures) that was bright and refreshing, as well as some very fresh guacamole.

For an entre, I had their churrasco (a 12-oz NY strip steak, cooked perfectly). Friends had puerco en tequila (chipotle, tequila and honey sauced pork chops) and steak fajitas. I sampled it all, and it was all around top quality.

The place is a little pricey, about $40 per person including one drink apiece. Overall a pretty good experience. Great atmosphere for a date or more intimate conversation.
