There's a little confusion with payments right now, as the website is being upgraded to accept credit cards. They are very helpful, though, as they understand this frustration, and they delivered our first batch of diapers without me having paid. I think they should have the website fixed in a few days.

There was a decent selection of vegetarian options, and what we had was really good. They do the thing where your sodas come in a can, and you get charged individually for them...I hate that thing. They also do the thing that a lot of ethnic restaurants do where they won't dim the lights...it would be much nicer with slightly lower lighting...but overall, it was a great dinner, and perfect for a couple date.

I ordered the Szechuan Eggplant, and it was really good. There was plenty on the plate, too, so I took leftovers to work today for lunch. The couple who took us there wanted the spicy green beans, and although the restaurant had sold out of green beans, the manager went to the Harris Teeter around the corner to grab some for us. Even with the little hiccup, the food was ready quick, and it was all delicious.
My only complaint is that the vegetarian selection is a little skimpy...there were 3 or 4 things on the menu, which isn't bad, but usually a Chinese restaurant will have lots of options.

And the beauty of it was, that plan worked! I really could pop right over to the doctor (it's about a 5 minute drive from my office), go in, have all kinds of icky procedures done, and be right back at work within an hour. The office is extremely efficient, and there's seldom more than a 5 minute wait.
All the doctors are smart, funny, and have great bedside manners, but my favorite has been Dr. Zolzer. He's funny and smart, but also very gentle and kind while talking about all the scariness of pregnancy. Generally, I have preferred female doctors in the past, but I find Dr. Zolzer to be really wise, comforting, and approachable.
The rest of the staff is spectacular as well...from the nurses and techs to the reception folks. Everyone is friendly, helpful, and accommodating. They don't mind that I'm crazy half the time and call the office with insane questions. It's really the best of all possible worlds.

Dr. Mike and Sandy are fabulous. They helped me treat my cat when he was very sick, and Dr. Mike helped me make the decision to send kitty along to cat heaven when it was time.
For me, the best part about Dr. Mike and Sandy was that I felt like they were willing to listen to me and respect my wishes without guilting me into running a bunch of tests on my cat. The kitty was dying, and several vets had told me about a bunch of tests that they could do to tell me what he was dying of. Dr. Mike was the first person to say, honestly, that he could run some tests, but that anything I might learn will end inevitably in the cat dying. He advised me to consider euthanasia, and it helped to relieve a lot of guilt, and it kept me from having to spend hundreds of dollars to find out--surprise! that kitty was going to die.
So that's the sad part of this review.
The good part is that they can come to you! Dr. Mike and Sandy have a RV all outfitted as a vet clinic, and they take their veterinarian show on the road. Dr. Mike and Sandy put the neuter on my pit bull, and they were great. They arrived, I took my doggy outside, loaded her up in the RV, and they did the deed. A few hours later, I came back out and got my puppy, and they drove off.
The disadvantages to using a mobile vet are that they aren't always immediately available, although they do answer calls and return emails promptly. It's not the best deal for emergencies, so I keep a back up vet on file for quick reference (I use Commonwealth). The Pet Cross and Pet Shield program that Dr. Mike offers helps to take the sting out of the yearly vet bills, and I have my dog signed up for this program as well.
I highly recommend their services. They're neat people.

I started thinking of where I might find some affordable, but good Italian food, and I remembered Portofino's. It's not in the nicest shopping center ever, but the food is really good, and the prices are very reasonable. For $13 or so, I got stuffed shells, a soda, crusty bread, and a delicious, delightful salad. I was pleased.
The servers were friendly, and the service was quick. There was no line to wait, either, even on a busy Saturday night...so it's a far better option than some of the "fancier" Italian restaurants. Yes, this shopping center is kind of creepy, but Portofino's is worth it.

Of course, any contractor has a choice not to take the project (just like I have the choice to post on the internet about how weird the whole interaction was). Perhaps he didn't think he could make enough money on the project or something...whatever it was, though, I would have appreciated knowing what his issue was with my house (my family? me?). The whole thing was just weird.
I don't recommend doing business with these guys. You'll find yourself looking in the mirror, asking, "What did I do?"
I'll continue to update Yelp with the unfolding saga of having work done on our home, hopefully with more positive reviews in the future!
