Banfield Pet Hospital

I love my vets at Banfield!  Their staff is about as good as it gets when it comes to vet service.  They remember my dog's name without looking at his chart and they're very gentle with him.  He doesn't freak out at this vet like he did with the one we used prior to finding Banfield in Issaquah.

Their staff is knowledgeable, friendly, and they give amazing customer service.  Recently, my dog ate something and was ill for about a week.  I was really worried about it and must have brought him in about three or four times.  They never lost their patience with me and did everything they could to make my dog feel better.  These are people who understand that to me, Fox is just like a child, albeit a very furry one.

I bought their wellness plan and I will tell you, it's a GREAT investment.  We don't pay for doctors visits, he gets his comprehensive and a dental cleaning and blood-work... and we get major surgery/procedures at a discounted rate - something I had undervalued until my dog had to have leg surgery 2 years ago and that plan saved us close to $300.

I won't take Fox anywhere else.  He loves the people at Banfield, and so do I!

Pearl Bar & Dining

I was invited here for an industry happy hour with some good friends.  Since I didn't pay, I can't really comment on price vs. value, but I will tell you that the Happy Hour food was pretty good!  I really enjoyed the little spicy shrimp dish that came with toasted bread (which tasted homemade), and the little sliders were also excellent.  Additionally, I'd recommend those little fried won-ton skins - they seasoned them VERY WELL!

My only semi negative observation is that if you do have a large group, Pearl, on the bar side, might not be the ideal place to gather - it got pretty crowded and hard to move around and talk to people.  That being said, the waitstaff that they had moved through the crowd pretty well and always brought the drinks with a smile, which in Bellevue can be pretty rare to find.

Other than that, the staff seemed quite friendly, the establishment was clean, and I dug the decor which looked a little like they'd coated the inside walls with duct tape.  I don't know why that spoke to me, but it did.

24 Hour Fitness

This facility is VERY nice. The machines are wonderful, the other people who go to the gym are very friendly and fun to talk to, and the locker rooms are set up very well.  I love the pool, the cleanliness, and I adore their yoga classes.  They have some really excellent teachers and I love Tori for Yoga.  She's very smart about how she teaches the class and doesn't belittle you like the lady who teaches the Fast Flow Style class does.  Other than her as an instructor, I've never met one of their teachers that I didn't like or that made me feel uncomfortable in my own level of ability.

The staff, however, is really starting to piss me off.  First of all, you do NOT have conversations about members while you are standing at the front desk, talking in front of other members.   Talking about how FAT someone is when you work the front desk at a gym isn't a motivation technique.  It's just cruel, and totally unprofessional.

You also don't roll your eyes at someone who doesn't wish to submit to your DANGEROUS fingerprint ID system.  And don't train your people to tell me that the, "Numbers and data only go one way."  BULL.  You are across the street from frickin' Microsoft.  Your clients KNOW that statement is false, and many of them probably know how to crack your half-assed encryption system.  Which, by the way, is VOLUNTARY, so stop trying to bully me into using it every time I walk through your doors.

Don't roll your eyes at me when I ask you where something is.  It's your job to tell, or better yet, SHOW me.  And don't act like I'm a moron when I ask you what temperature the pool is today.  I'm a swimmer.  I notice when we've dropped or gained about 4 degrees.  It makes a difference.  (Oh and by the way, when I can SMELL the chlorine scent, it means that your pool is NOT UP TO THE HEALTH CODE.  Just a little hint there.  It's not all the time, but when you run a gym, some of the time is way to often to have your chemicals in the wrong mix.)

So why do you still have my gym membership?  Frankly, you're $40 a month under the other gym in town, and as soon as I can afford to change, I intend to. So enjoy my membership dues while you have them, because unless you train your staff on better customer service, you shouldn't count on hanging on to them for much longer.

Domino's Pizza

It's Domino's, so you get pretty much what you'd expect to get, except that the taste here is BETTER than a lot of the Domino's I've been to in the Seattle area, including the one in Issaquah.

What IS amazing about this place, and, yes, I know it's a chain thing, is that now, if you order online, you can specify sauce for your pizza, so if you order a pizza with white sauce, bacon, chicken, and a light sprinkle of mushrooms then BOOM!  Chicken Carbonara Pizza!!!

What I don't like, and again, it's a chain thing, is that if you don't order online then they don't give you ANY deals or coupons.  Come on, people.  Price, in the world of cheap pizza, is king, and Domino's without a special is pretty much overpriced cheap pizza.

I had my first taste of Fatburger a few months ago and it was pretty tasty!  The burger quality is excellent and the value for the money is really good.  I love their milkshakes, and the skinny fries are excellent, especially if you load them with chili and cheese!

I love this place!  They have wifi, awesome pizza, an outdoor patio that's heated, and you can watch the people in the kitchen.

By far, this is my favorite place for pizza in the Issaquah area!  Their food is outstanding and fairly priced.  Their happy hour is about as good as it gets - $2.50 breadstick orders and half price small pizzas.  You really can't beat that.   And their food isn't swimming in grease, like the other place in town.

The only downside to this place is that because of the economy, they're a little understaffed.  Sometimes it can take about 5 minutes longer than you'd like for service, but that's not their fault - and when the service does get to the table, it's great.  They even remember the faces and orders of their regular customers.  I've never gotten BAD service here.

Try Zeek's and you'll get an addictive craving!

My mother and I ate here on a recent girls' day out and then brought my father with us later that week for Easter brunch.  The lunch here is PHENOMENAL! The server we had was excellent, never let my drink go dry, and anticipated our needs beautifully.  The food was incredible - if you don't know what to get, and you go at lunch, order up that Mac 'n' cheese dish with the shrimp.  It's to die for!  My mother raved over their tomato soup with the spearmint emulsion, and I loved their mushroom and shrimp soup as well! Oh and their Iced Tea is EARL GREY - SO good!

The people who work here are of the highest skill in customer service and rapport building.  One of the clerks downstairs, Lindsay, treated both my mom and I like we had $100,000 to spend, even though we were clearly dressed down for the day.  I watched her treat EVERYONE that well, giving incredible service to each shopper.  It was for this reason that I bought as much there as I did.  I wish I had videoed her to use as an outstanding example of customer service when I teach people.  She was amazing!

Rice n Roll

I'm not a sushi expert, so take this review for what you will.  I ate here just the other night, trying to introduce the boyfriend to something more than burgers and fries.  MISTAKE.

I was not impressed with the quality of the product in the least.  The last time I had sushi, I couldn't taste the overwhelming fishy-ness of it.  This time, it was so overpowering that I had to spit out part of a California roll, which does NOT need to be swimming in fish roe.  Just sayin'.

I probably won't go back. I'm looking for a more quality place.

I LOVE this place!

It's a two hour round trip trek to get up to Port of Subs from where we live, but it's SO worth it.  The staff is super nice, the sandwiches are the best in the Puget Sound, and it's always fresh, clean and friendly!

The Mayo/Mustard blend is delicious, and their pickles are really good.  I love the way the slice them.

Go and try them out.  Subway will never be good enough again!

Maggiano's Little Italy

Portion size, portion size, portion size.  I'm a girl who likes big helpings, but even *I* can't finish a whole portion of the food that I order at Maggiano's!  I usually get the Shrimp (and I know I'm going to butcher the spelling on this one) Aribettia, which is angel hair pasta with shrimp and a spicy sauce on it.  It's been consistently awesome over the last 5 years, so I'd say it's a safe bet.

Prices can be on the higher side, but this is a really nice place.  I'd say get a group of you together and go eat a nice family style meal where everyone shares what they order.  It's a very fun way to do it, and you get to try a lot of great food.

I love the atmosphere and the music.  They cook like my Sicilian side of the family, so the food is really as good at the hype.  The wait for seating can be a bit long sometimes, so if you can make reservations, I'd do it.  I've seen people in here wearing anything from jeans and flip flops to fur coats, so, while it might be a nice place, don't feel bad if you're not in your prom finery.
