I love this spot! Not just because of the vibrant blue walls, fresh interior, bright comfy ottomans, Indonesian furniture and accents, international music and huge grids of windows, or the fact it used to actually be a bank way back in the day, the owners (who are so awesome, interesting and whom I spend more time chatting with than reading, eating or writing, which is why I usually go there for in the first place!)
Anyway, its in Fountain Square (look for the white 'Got Breakfast' sign out front when they're open). Basically I just look for the sign if I'm passing through to see if they're open. :)
They offer a great selection of loose teas (you'll want to wait a few minutes for the cup to steep to get great flavor), free-trade coffee, bubble tea, a food menu that's constantly growing and offers an international flavor, and vegetarian offerings in addition to turkey, chicken, salmon and albacore tuna-based dishes and sandwiches.
So far I've had lots of pastries (you MUST try any of the German pastries made by a local woman who runs ZamoVar is AMAZING with the baking -- the Crumb Cake and Cherry Cheese Cake are my favorites. They are rich but not overly sweet, and do usually contain almonds. (For those with nut allergies, she does take custom orders and will make some recipes without nuts). The cheese cake is not your typical cheesecake -- it's hard to describe, but think dense, but not heavy, very deep flavor, and smooth texture. From time to time there will be a special recipe she's trying out, and you'll know it -- the texture of the bread items, like muffins, are light, delicately sweet but not overly so, and eat something like a cross between a bread and a dessert. You'll know it when you taste it (I did, and it had been at least 2 years since I last had her crumb cake before I first set foot in iC&T a few weeks ago and had the pineapple muffin!!)
As for the food, I had the salmon patty the other day, with chips and a cup of peach fruit tea blend. Word is I'll finally have a downtown spot to get my falafel fix, too!! They have breakfast burritos, but I haven't gotten there for breakfast yet.
Food offerings are in the $4.50 to $5.75 range. Can't remember how much the tea is -- has to be a couple of bucks I suppose. I love this place!!
