Best cappuccino I've ever had! It's not one of those milky tasteless things you get at those super coffee factories. If your are near Santana row and need a good cup of coffee this is the place to come.

The crepe was only bleh...

What a great sandwich! I love it when you eat pork and it actually tastes like pork.  The fennel, radish slaw is crunchy and just adds an awesome element to the crusty Acme ciabatta bread and the moist pork.  The lemon zest is a nice touch as well.  A bit pricey at $9 but well worth it.

Dr. Trinh is the new doctor that took over this place and he is AWESOME. He gave me one of the most thorough exams I've ever had and he gave me some great advise on ways to improve my vision beyond just glasses and contacts.

When I stepped into the optical there was no pushy sales pitch and I had all the time I needed to find the right glasses for myself (took me a bit longer since the wife wasn't with me...)  They also seemed to have revamped their styles from the old & outdated stuff they used to carry.

Customer service was 5 stars the girl who helped me (forgot her name!) was very helpful and nice!

If you are looking for a wild party with loud music then this is not the place for you.

If you are looking for a low key place to share a conversation w/o yelling it over loud music then this is the place to be.

Excellent beers on tap (casked conditioned, hand pulled beers = awesome) and good prices.  The vibe is chill and relaxed.  The decor is eclectic, but not too busy.  This is an awesome "local" pub that you can visit any time of the week.

The food was pretty good for "county fair" type foods.  There was a vendor who was selling these huge sausages that was only $6 and quite satisfying.  We also had a corn on the cob that came dripping with butter... and well anything dripping with butter can't be bad right?

The best thing I had was a Meyer lemonade sweetened by agave.  It was the perfect balance of tartness and sweetness!  Probably the best lemonade I've ever had.

The wine were okay.  I am by no means a wine expert but I was not wow'ed by any of the wines. (Probably drinking a big cup of lemonade didn't help though... so take my review of the wines with a grain of salt...)

The craft booths were bland and boring.  Not one booth really caught my interest...

The best sashimi and nigiri I've ever had was at Sushi Sho.  The first time I've ever enjoyed uni was at this place.  And the owner was AWESOME.  He was seriously the Japanese version of the Soup Nazi from Seinfeld.

    Some examples:
    - He routinely refused to give customers any wasabi.  He told everyone that he put in the perfect amount of wasabi in the nigiri and no more would be needed.
    - When I asked him what he did the rest of his day since he was only open during such a small time frame, he replied, "Whatever I want to."
    - When two businessmen asked him for Toro sashimi he told them, "Its too expensive for you."
    - He gladly instructed customers the correct way to eat nigiri - a touch of soy sauce (on the fish, not on the rice. The rice would soak up too much soy sauce) and fish on tongue.  Eaten with your hands.

The guy was as interesting as the fish he served.  I am truely sadden to learn it's closed... I hope they find another location soon...

The fiance and I decided to order a couple appetizers and share an entree. (We could have actually gone without the entree though as we were pretty full after the appetizers)

We started off with the Mediterranean Maza for two... all of the dips were fantastic!  You really can't go wrong ordering this stuff in most Mediterranean places.  The only mistake would be not ordering it.  It came with plenty of pita bread.  We also had the Fatayer appetizer.  Seriously I think you can wrap most anything in filo dough and it'll be good (well, most anything anyway... ).  It was served with a sauce that was good but a bit on the sweet side.

For the entree we picked the Falafel plate which was decent but I'd probably stick with a meat entree next time.  I can't say I was really digging the sauce it came with.

The only thing I would complain about is the fact they sort of stuff you into the restaurant like sardines in a can.  Its a bit weird when you can clearly hear two conversations going on to your right and left throughout your meal without really trying...

First and foremost the coffee here is great.  Brewed to order, the coffee is fresh and delicious.  You can't go wrong with Intelligentsia Coffee.  Also they serve Lupicia teas which is pretty darn good as well.

The decor is pretty homey and the patio area is a nice place to sit on a warm sunny day (its LA most days are sunny and warm...).

Luckily for me I have long put the textbooks in the bookcase to collect dust but if I was still a student the upstairs study area would be a great place to study.

I love places like this.  The pick a few things and just knock it out of the park.  The menu doesn't have 100 things for you to choose from and sometimes simplicity is best.

The kalbi tang was excellent.  Its authentic Korean soul food ( its almost just like mom makes).  The serve great sides as well.

Service was swift and efficient, just the way I like.

Food: 3.5 stars

Decent food, good beers (can't really go wrong with Guiness on tap!)

Service: 1.0 star

Only problem was our waitress who was quite rude.  At one point of the night I decided I wanted to buy the guys a pitcher and on my way back from the restroom I stopped by the bar to order the pitcher.  Our waitress saw me ordering and demanded I order through her, she took the credit card I had given to the bartender and told me to go sit down and she'd bring the pitcher to me (which was already poured and waiting for me to take).

Look I understand she is working for tips and really I could careless if I paid the tab to her or the bartender but she could have handled that situation with a lot more class.
