Weird, kinda sparse decor, but I know there was a rush to open on time.  Menu OK, the asterisks indicate some great additions.
Music is TERRIBLE and they just turned it up, so I'm deducting one star.  Way to rush thru permitting!

I really wanted to like this place!  After being seated, moved, reseated, moved, and seated again despite our reservation I was maybe expecting the service to be apologetic, or at least attentive.  Too bad.  The cheese plate arrived without description, the fish tacos were just OK, and the tempeh spring rolls were not unlike what I make at home.  Eh.

Super-nice staff and great beer selection on tap.  Also v good "by the glass" selections.  The goodbye handshake ensured my speedy return...maybe even tonight!

Oui!

Okay, so originally I had planned to run in next door at the Fresh Market to get a variety of bagels and doughnuts for my son's daycare - it was Teacher Appreciation Week.  But when I arrived at 8am, they were closed!

I was a little wary of getting my selection from Uppercrust instead, but we picked out an assortment of pastries (croissants au beurre, pains au chocolat, chocolate-almond croissants) and cookies (painted sugar cookies, linzer hearts) and couldn't make it to the car without sampling a few.  YUM!  The croissants were such light, buttery perfection that I drove away licking my fingers.  Needless to say, the rest of the assortment was similarly revered.  All the teachers raved about how excellent everything was.

I'm hoping to be surprised by something from their delectable  Mother's Day menu on Sunday...

Brand new shop specializing in boutique wine, craft beer, artisan cheeses, and premium cigars - similar to Dorn's.  Great selection and one of the only places in town to get beer from Swamp Head Brewery (they fill Growlers).

It's Cinco de Mayo!  Order up a big plate of yum.

Inexpensive food typical of Stateside Mexican restaurants.  Nothing to wow, but nothing to disappoint either - My version of comfort food.  Colorful interior with lots to keep toddlers occupied and cheap beer prices for the parents.  What's not to like?

Cute, quaint, reasonably priced and yummy!  What more can you ask for?  My son was especially enamored with the hen/rooster motif throughout (what is breakfast without a toddler squawking "cock-a-doodle-doo" at top volume?) and the complimentary Sanibel coloring book and crayons.  The stuffed french toast isn't really "stuffed", but tasty just the same.  All of the benedicts (they had several varieties - we sampled the Southern benedict with sausage gravy) come with olive eyes, and the coffee is top notch.  Recommended!

After hearing so much about this place, we were really excited to give it a try.  We split 4 appetizers - conch fritters (very frittery, not so much conch), conch chowder (spicy and delicious), peel and eat shrimp (fat and tasty), and a dozen oysters.  The food was pretty good, but overly expensive for the bar atmosphere.  Dark, dirty, dank interior with too loud TVs blaring Seinfeld did little to improve the experience.  Overall, a little disappointed.

The sandwiches were yummy and inexpensive, and kids ate free!  I had a bronzed mahi sandwich with sweet potato fries and Dan had a honey bbq chicken concoction on flatbread.  The cashier was super-nice to a cranky Ayler and even came over to give him a toy.  The interior was clean and modern with "Jack Handy"style posters everywhere, and the bathrooms were most impressive.  Both men's and women's restrooms had changing tables, all immaculate with lots of space and even a place to strap your kid down if needed.  Can you tell we'd had it with the tantrums?  A nice alternative to fast food with swift, friendly service and reasonable prices.
