Like Ariana B., I found out about BedBusters by walking past the truck parked around my neighborhood.

When it was time to move, there was no way my crappy futon and sagging twin set were going with me. Scheduled an appointment through http://www.bedbusters.com, and everything worked according to plan.

While he loaded up up the electric truck, I enjoyed a nice conversation with BedBusters owner Alter'Nathan about the environmentally friendly practices of his business. Although it's hard to justify the costs to throw something away, it helps to know that I'm supporting a good business with a great respect for the Earth. 25 March 2008

Booked the Clean It Green crew to clean my studio apartment after I moved out. Mostly I liked the idea of not using chemicals to clean.

The place was extremely dirty as I had neglected it for awhile knowing that would have it cleaned before moving out. While Sandra was nice and attentive, there were some obvious things overlooked even as she showed me what had been done. Windows were not even wiped down, and I went around with a wet rag (only a wet rag!) and cleaned up a lot of places that would have expected the cleaners to get. The bathroom was super clean though which is why they're getting 3 stars.

We'll see how much of my deposit I get back. 25 March 2008

We visited Cascone's with the extended family to celebrate my Aunt's retirement on a Friday night. Considering there were 14 of us - including four kids & a few heavy drinking adults - the server was patient, but didn't deliver all our plates at the same time. There was also some confusion about the bill as the waiter refused to split the check. Thankfully, I was not involved in that discussion as I still assume my parents will cover me (though I'm nearing thirty).

My dinner was not good, but everyone else seemed happy. I made the mistake of ordering seafood. I tend to forget I'm no longer on the coast near fresh fish when I travel back home to Kansas.

The piano player was fun and took our requests. The place cleared out right before the KU basketball game, so the anxious kids could run around without disturbing anyone. (Ice cream scoops were also delivered on cue when a couple of the toddlers started to cry.)

Shrug. I probably wouldn't select this place myself, but it worked for the family occasion. 28 March 2008

The best stop for vegetarian burritos in The Mission! Try the refried black beans in your favorite burrito. (I recommend the Grilled Veggie.) The prices are higher than some other places in the area but worth it.

The salsa is some of the best I've ever tasted, and you can order it by the jar to take home. It's not mild either.

The place is crowded and hot at meal times, so try to hit on the off hours for maximum enjoyment.

Too close to avoid. Luckily they have a great vegetarian menu. Two or three times a week, I stop by and get a regular veggie burrito. The staff is friendly, and although they don't know my name, they know my order.

If you aren't looking for something specific, Adobe Book Shop is a great place to browse through thousands of used books. Books are everywhere. The book you're looking for might be there if you have the time to find it...

Best bagels in the city. Never crowded. I'm in and out with a fresh bagel in a brown paper bag in less than 5 minutes.

The best mid-size music venue in the city. Two levels. Beautiful ballroom motif. And great indie bands play here.

Avoid the food. Beware the high drink prices and the all ages shows.
