A decent place for americanized Chinese food. I like their sweet and sour prawns, Wor Won Ton Soup and fried rice. Again, I stress that this is americanized Chinese food. If I want good chow mein, dan dan noodles, or Chong Qing hot chicken I'll head to Szechuan Chef or Seven Stars Pepper. But Chan's is close to home and tasty for what it is.
Tried this place for the first time today. November 3 is National Sandwich Day! So of course I had to have a sandwich to celebrate. I had the steak sandwich and it was delicious. The potato salad is probably the best not-made-at-home potato salad I've ever had. The sandwich with two sides and a bottled lemonade came to $13. I will definitely have to go back to try the burritos.
The store itself isn't much to look at inside, but the doughnuts are awesome. I used to stop in on the way to work on occasion when I worked in Seattle, but I haven't worked in Seattle since 2007. I was in the area a couple months ago for an appointment and decided I needed a sugar fix so I stopped in. The owner/baker said "long time no see!" I couldn't believe he remembered me after two years. They open at 5am, so you know he's in there very early baking away. This is the the only place that I'll get apple fritters from, they're so fresh and crunchy on the outside. I also think it's great that the frosting on the doughnuts are flavored, rather than just being plain sugar frosting with food coloring added.

Lake Forest Bar & Grill
Category: American (Traditional)
Stopped here on a Thursday evening to pick up dinner on the way home. If I would have known this was part of the chain that includes the Eastlake Bar and Grill I wouldn't have bothered. I've had their food before and while it's okay for happy hour, it's not worth it otherwise. The bar was full for happy hour, and there was an older couple sitting in the waiting area, and I assumed they were waiting for a takeout order because the dining area of the restaurant was at least half empty. I was told my order would take about ten minutes. After I had waited about 15 minutes the couple went in to talk to the hostess. Apparently they had been waiting for a table for 30 minutes. It was apparent from the confused manner of the hostess that she had completely forgotten about them. I then asked about my order and again she seemed confused and said "you're STILL waiting for your order?" At that point my order was brought out immediately, and I suspect it had probably just been sitting on the counter. Overall, the food is mediocre and the service pretty spotty.
I actually went her to try out Chicky Pub, but that's another review. The store is pretty dingy inside and doesn't smell that great. Quite honestly, I'd much rather do my shopping at Ranch 99, or H-Mart which is closer to Alderwood Mall. It was absolutely freezing inside the store, not sure what was up with that. It was about 55° outside today, and probably about ten degrees colder inside the store. I actually did go to H-Mart after this place. It's much cleaner, climate controlled and has a Beard Papa's. If they had a Chicky Pub, I'd have no reason to go to Paldo World.
I tried this place for the first time today. Took about 15 minutes to get my order. I got the 6-piece family meal, which was 1 small wing, 1 small drumstick, and what appeared to be about 1/2 of a normal-sized thigh, 1/2 of normal-sized breast and two pieces I couldn't quite identify, possibly pieces by the backbone? That being said, the chicken was very tasty, slightly spicy and came with a side of radish pickles. It was $8.99+ tax. I'd say it would be a stretch to call this a family meal, so it is a bit expensive for what you get. But I would definitely get it again. I do have to comment on thing. Why is it so damn cold inside Paldo World?? It was about 55° outside and probably ten degrees colder inside the store.

Crave - CLOSED

Never got to try this place before it closed. I called one time to ask about a menu item and the person I spoke to was unbelievably rude. I think it's interesting that the owner is now a contestant on Top Chef and all the other chefs absolutely hate her. I notice one of the recurring themes among the comments are that the customer service was bad and the staff was rude.
It does take a few minutes to get your order unless you call in advance because they don't pre-grill the meats, but it's worth the wait. I was craving some teriyaki the other night at around 8:20pm and called to find out their hours. They were closing in ten minutes so I knew I wouldn't make it there in time and stated that to the owner and thanked him. He asked when I could be there and said he'd get my order started and stay open until I got there. Tasty and cheap and great service.
Love this place! The sauce isn't too sweet or too vinegary, which is what I hate about most barbecue sauces. The menu is limited to sandwiches, beans, chips and sodas, but that's all they need. Unless it's changed, they're only open from 11-3 M-F, and only take cash. The lines can get long, but they are super fast. You can also purchase the cooked meat in frozen vacuum packs with a side of sauce if you want to take it home, or for an extra $.25 they'll pack your sandwich "for dinner", which means they pack the bun, meat and sauce separately, which is great for me because I can usually only manage half a sandwich in one sitting. Sandwiches are served with a spork, which is exactly the utensil you need.

Love this place, best gyros I've ever had. Parking is a pain, and they only take cash or checks so be warned. I usually get the lamb gyro dinner plate with an extra pita. Yum!
