Shabu House has quickly earned my top ranking for best Shabu. Previously, DT San Mateo's Shabuway held the title, but let me just list the reasons why it's been bested.
1. Bigger means better. Tons of tables, long bar, an extended room in the back. This means I can eat out with more than 3 people when I want some Shabs.
2. Choice of meat. Holla - you have your choice of Lamb, Beef and now Pork (+ points for the lovely server who allowed a patron across me to try the pork for free when he even offered to buy a side)
3. Udon comes stock. Shabuway recently removed the free noodles and charge extra if you want udon, even more if you want ramen. Shabu house comes with it for free.99.
4. Flavor Variety. Water, Spicy Miso, Ginger Chicken. Okay.. Shabuway has this too but I don't think they have Ginger Chicken... not that I'd pick that flavor anyway.
5. Veggie Variety. Spinach is stock and so is a big ass mushroom. More veggies than SW.
6. Ice Cream! Free scoop of either green tea or mango. Nuff said.nly
7. All you can eat options. I'll only do it in combination with unlimited drinking...
So now that the baddest shabu bitch on the block has made it's appearance in the peninsula, Shabuway either should be shatting in the pants or making some necessary changes to start competing against this spot. Maybe they already have, but this already is a winner in my book.

Reunited and if feels so good...
It's been maybe a year since I've been back. The menu's changed a bit... they no longer have the Build Your Own.. but the food is still delightful. Parking still sucks.
We came in today and it was pretty busy at 1pm. But just like the Diner Dash game, Darla's got skills. She totally remembers everything and works her time management effortlessly.
New thing the boyfriend tried: Cheeseburger Club. It's basically a club sandwich with burger as the protein. He really liked it. Also, Darla's has an option to add Onion Rings for $1. They looked good...
It places like these where I have City Withdrawls...
I LOVE Darla's. I hate the parking. But aside that, their burgers are juicy, tasty and perfect. I always get Jack, Shrooms and Peppers and am never disappointed. Their fries are great, and I love their salad for some reason. I always assume it's cause I love a salad that's made by anyone besides me...
Plus free brownies. You can't beat that.
And fun fact: Darla's helped create Diner Dash 2 -- you can find it on Yahoo games.

Don't waste your time at the Geary location. Their staff is sour & they're sooooo stingy on the meat. Burlingame's the place to go and they have more room.
I think you get it. Meat. Swish. Eat.
What sets it apart is the service and staff the assist you and the amount of food you get. It may get hectic when there are only 3 servers navigating the entire restaurant, but why are you complaining? It's instant eating.
