Okay, lets just start this off with me telling you that this was my 3 year anniversary- I made the reservation with http://OpenTable.com and made a note in there that it was our anniversary. We get there and they kindly take our coats, have us seated at the front of the restaurant in a great table (oval so we can sit next to each other) and there is a note from the staff congratulating us on our anniversary- I melted.
Without even being served any food, I was delighted beyond belief. First we order a fromage plate (cheese plate) to get us started with the meal which was delicious and I loved that they had enough carbs for me to keep spreading the cheese on. For an appetizer, I ordered a special which essentially was a seafood stew- it was a little complicated but amazingly rich and multi-layered. The seared sea scallops were out of this world!
Okay, now I do have to add in here that upon ordering drinks I let them know that I will not be drinking anything tonight and would be fine with a gingerale- and the waitress insisted I try a concoction from the bar (non-alcoholic of course). It was some sort of grapefruity drink that I did not want to stop drinking. It was awesome- I am glad I did not settle for a gingerale.
There was a short moment when I thought that I had made a mistake in telling them it was our anniversary because when the dessert came out, the waitress also brought out two champagne glasses (on the house) and my heart sank- my first thought was- do I drink it to be nice or do I politely decline? I was immediately put at ease when the waitress said that one glass was champagne (for him) and one glass was a sparkling vanilla bean drink (non alcoholic) for me! I was delighted that they put that much thought into it!
All in all, I had a pleasant experience and I would recommend this restaurant to anyone. Thanks for making my anniversary special.
