Hemmingway's Bistro in Oak Park is As Good As It Gets...I was visiting the Ernest Hemingway Museum at the corner of Oak Park Avenue and Ontario St. during Oaktoberfest and crossed the street to find a secret hideaway for brunch...There is a Variety Menu posted on the windowsill...and I went inside lured by the Maine Lobster Salad with Mango Vinaigrette and Fresh Lettuce, garnished with citrus and fresh raspberries. What A Seafood Delight and a Mariner's Treat for Fresh Lobstermania. I also ordered Yellow Squash Blossoms stuffed with Goat Cheese surrounded by a red pepper sauce...a very tasty appetizer. If you want to linger and wait a while...sipping coffee, order the Raspberry Soufflé and hope it is not deflated by time. Come back again for another Hemmingway's specialty!
A Pastry Bakery and Coffee Shop just like the ones I have visited in France for Patisserie Cafe. Toni has a perfect cup of coffee and a Cherry Panna Cotta for a pause cafe in the afternoon. A fresh refill comes as a courtesy at Toni Pattiserie & Cafe serving breakfast favorites, lunch and dinner. You can even order a Cuban sandwich and other specialties at Toni's.
A Savory Thai Secret is revealed when you step into the Thai Pastry...reminiscent of the Far East and Asia. Sunday Thai Brunch is a special surprise...to start with Crispy Shrimp Thai Basil Spring Rolls and Sauce. The Mango Smoothie with Jackfruit comes in a Tall Chilled Glass. Then comes. the Roasted Duck with Broccoli and a Rice Bowl. Followed by Cat Fish in Garlic Sauce Spicy and too salty for me. For a pause café, there is a Coconut Custard with Fresh Coffee to sweeten the afternoon.

Panera's Artichoke Spinach Soufflé oven-baked is for epicurious palates...while still warm and fluffy. Add a cup of hot ginger and honey to make Friends' Time Morning Snack by 10 a.m., sweeten with honey to taste. Frequent Panera fans get a free treat with My Panera card. Try a Fresh Sesame Seed Bagel Toasted with butter...it goes well with The Republic of Tea. A convenient location for a nice quiet spot to read the newspaper and meditate...

On my Birthday Anniversary, I invited a close friend to share his Birthday Anniversary Free Stir-Fry Bowl at the Flat Top Grill together for the first time. The minute we walked in and sat down, Jason, our personal table attendant introduced us to discover the freshest Flat Top Grill buffet I had ever seen: noodles, rice, green beans, tofu, red and green peppers, fresh scallions, shoestring carrots, pineapple chunks, and much more...; then a variety of Asian fusion sauces with teriyaki, ginger garlic, peanut, plum, sweet and sour, you name it, the Flat Top Grill has it... Add chicken, pork, beef, calamari, and/or shrimp, if you want it, you can have it. Top it with Flat Top Bread and let the Chef Grill Master stir-fry for you, hot off the Flat Top Grill. In time for the Thanksgiving holiday and roast turkey cravings, Bananas Foster Café offers a wide menu selection for hot delicious turkey, real mashed potatoes, and a double portion of the best turkey loaf I had ever tasted, with sweet fresh carrots, mushrooms, onions, and a savory glossy turkey gravy. There is also a cold turkey sandwich with a cranberry chutney and a hot turkey pannini to choose and drool over... Leave enough room for sweet dessert, the specialty of course is Bananas Foster... Another delicious choice is the warm Bread Pudding with Scotch Whiskey and cream. I was very happy to share an early turkey luncheon dinner with dessert included at Bananas Foster Café. A hot cup of Twinnings tea with honey makes English teatime a treat... Breakfast is real wholesome with a large bowl of oatmeal served steaming hot, add brown sugar, and butter to melt the cold away...
