my husband, son, and I went in to Hawks a few weeks ago for lunch.  We hadn't been in for lunch in quite a while and had seen that the lunch menu changed a bit.  I ordered the shrimp tacos. Oh My GODDD. These tacos are so good.  I'm a fan of fish tacos in general and sadly now that I've eaten the shrimp tacos at Hawks no fish taco will ever live up to the yumminess that is the shrimp taco.

My husband had a meatloaf sandwich and the cream of broccoli soup.  The soups at Hawks are always something i look forward to.  They are always amazing.  Even ingredients I normally wouldn't like they somehow turn it into a delicious soup.  

And Mike was able to whip up a special little lunch for our toddler too. Excellent service as always. =)

I have no clue why I waited so long to try this place?! I was admitably a bit put off when we first entered by the elegance of this place. I wasn't prepared for it. The way I was dressed and we also had our 5 month old son with us whom loves to yell as loud as he can. Luckily he slept the entire time.
After I got over the need of feeling like I was going to have to eat my pizza with a knife and fork I relaxed and dove into the menu. LOVELY and unique pizza options. A simple menu. My husband and I both ordered our own small pizzas. They were both heavenly and I'm lusting over the 'radicchio, goat-cheese, and pancetta' pizza right now in my head.

My husband had a 'Monkey Knife Fight' beer and I had a glass of Riesling. And our check was super inexpensive, just the opposite of what I was anticipating.

The decor was lovely. My husband and I are fans of black and white and that is how this place was done. It was nice and open and elegant but not ridiculous-over the top elegant. We will definitely be visiting here a lot more often.

We had a great stay here over the weekend in Reno. We headed there for the Nugget Rib Cook Off. We booked out hotel a little too late so we werent able to stay at one of the main hotels/casinos. We were actually really happy with the hotel though...VERY clean. Staff was really friendly. They didn't have room service but they had a great menu from four restaurants that had a delivery service we enjoyed. And a little fridge in the lobby with alcohol you could buy and take back to your room. Good place, and will for sure stay here again if we ever venture back to reno,.

This place was great for my husband and I. We were able to bring our four month old son who is discovering his voice and likes to shriek and yell a lot. There were a lot of families in there so it was nice and loud. Food was far better than we had expected. My husband and I both left there very pleased with our dishes. The staff was very friendly and helpful since it was our first time eating there they were very helpful in showing us how to navigate the menu and helping us pick out something we really wanted.
This is a perfect place to stop for lunch or dinner after a day of shopping in the Fountains.

I went here today with my son looking for a simple little lucky bamboo. . .
I had never been here before and once I got to the back outside I was pleasantly surprised. This place is HUGE! Beautiful. Very well maintained, and did I mention huge! I walked around for a while just browsing and thinking I may come across the bamboo myself.

I was pushing a stroller and it kept getting stuck in mud and on rocks so I decided to rap up the trip and go ask someone to guide me in the direction of bamboo.

So here's the downfall to my experience and bushnells. TONS of stuff there and NO ONE asked me if I needed help at all! I had to go up to a lady employee and ask where I could find bamboo. She said they had a little out by the Palm trees and pointed off in the general direction. I had to venture out there by myself. They either didn't have what I was looking for or I just never looked in the right spot. So I ended up just leaving, with nothing....

I'm just going to start by saying I effin' hate night clubs. I ONLY went here for a friends bachellorette party. For a night club this place is pretty great. The only way I would ever even attempt this place though was if I were VIP. Thank god we were when I went. I looked at the drink line and it was ridiculous.

The absolute best part of this experience though was that the gogo dancers come out every half hour or hour or so and do a quick topless show. I love titties so then was a really nice, unexpected treat. They also have guy gogo dancers which I heard some folks say that they though were cool. Not me, I thought it was gross and they all looked like they were regulars on hcwdb dot com. eww.

There are also aerialist acts that I was very entertained by.

I ell oh vee ee LOVE California Tattoo. Mostly CHOPS. He does amazing work and is just a pleasant person to be around. These guys won't tell you what you want to hear to get you in the seat to make money. If it's going to be stupid and look like shit they are straight up about it. I've never been tattooed by Jerry but I always hear him when I'm getting tattooed and he's super funny and makes me laugh. Which is nice when you are getting a needle drug through your skin. Shop is always clean. My husband gets tattooed by whomever is available at the time usually. (he's usually just a walk in type of guy.) And his tat's are always consistantely good as well.

We were at a car show a few weeks ago (midnight mass 09) and CA Tattoo was out there tattooing. My husband and I decided to get little tattoo's and even in the loud outside where hot rods were revving and drunk people were going nutty these guys still pulled off beyond stellar work. I suggest giving them a try for sure.

For the price I paid I've received farrrrrrrr better service and quality. This place is just kind of weird. Its SUPER industrial like, and has a random clothing boutique in the front area.  

I came in with a picture of what I wanted. Two hours later with ALL of my hair now on the floor it was nothing like what I wanted. I don't know if they stylist was having an OFF day that I had fallen victim to or what. I was nearly in tears sitting there towards the end. My hair looked so butch (which would be fine if i was slightly butch) and Butchered it was ridiculous. After gooping with all kinds of wax and what not she washed it again. Nothing cute came of this. She actually told me that if I couldn't get it to do anything to come back in and she could try to do something else to it. Well considering I had virtually no hair left I'm guessing shaving my had was what she was going to try next. I got the eff outta there an will absolutely never return there again. I've never been so displeased with a hair cut or the service I have been given, especially cause the prices were astronomical.

PS, there was obviously NO dresscode for these employees. One woman came in with shorts on that were so short you could practically see her hair cut. If you know what I mean. Which wasn't cool with children going around in there.

Friends and I went her for a few drinks and appetizers before heading over the the movie theatre in the same parking lot. $38 for a pitcher of margaritas was pretty retarded. The nachos we ordered were basically a big cluster eff. Super hard to eat and a huge mess that was very desirable. The guacamole I have to say was pretty delicious. Between six of us and hour we racked up $150.00 bill. Mostly in alcohol. Our waitress was pretty un-attentive. But as we were just about to leave she brought over six double shots of tequila with sparklers going off on them, on the house from the manager! That made me like this place a whole lot better. And it made the movie was see a whole lot funnier.

Wow, where to begin.

My husband and I are huge fans of anything Garlic. So we saw that a Johnny Garlics had opened and in the area and had to visit.  

Let's start with when we first got there. There was a decent crowd out front so we were prepared for a bit of a wait. We get inside and half of the restaurant has open tables?! There were no available seats in the "waiting area" and when asked if we could sit in the bar seating while waiting for our table to become available we were told NO!  Finally, 20 minutes into waiting for a table a young employee (they were all very young I might add) came out with complementary garlic chips for the waiting patrons. They were gross. Oily and had a bit of crunch on the outside but were ultimately soggy and disgusting. The reason they gave all of us waiting that they couldn't seat us was that the kitchen was running behind so they couldnt seat us  until it caught up. That has to be the stupidest thing I've heard in a while. I understand kitchens get behind, happens all the time, especially on weekends. But, that it was absolutely ridiculous that they wouldn't seat us just because of this. I should add that at the time i was a solid eight months pregnant and standing around, hungry, waiting wasn't on the list of fun stuff to do at the time. I would have much rather preferred sitting at the table waiting to order while sipping a beverage at-least.

Finally we were seated and presented with super dirty silver ware. It was pretty nasty. It wasnt like a smudge you can often get, it straight up had food stuck on it.
Once we brought it to our waiters attention he made a scene about it, blaming it on the busser's and how he wouldnt give him any of his tips that night. I thought that was a particularly d-bag thing to say in front of customers let alone to the actual customers.

The menu was a major let down for mer personally. I was hoping to find dishes ridden with more garlic that an individual can handle. It was a major let down. For a place that has GARLIC in the title of it , it sure didn't have much to offer! I mean, I was expecting my dessert to even have a clove in it! Our dishes were let downs. I saw the manager come visit four different tables while we were there for unhappy customers.

This is a place that I will absolutely NEVER visit again. The best part of this experience was LEAVING!
