Grimaldi's Pizza

Being from Los Angeles and eating pizza all over the world, I wanted to try New York's finest.    I read online that Grimaldi's is the best.   I didn't have time to go to the one in Brooklyn, so I went to the one near Times Square.   This place is in a odd location.  It's inside a small shopping arcade.  I had to ask instructions when I was in the small shopping arcade.  Once in, the menu was pretty simple.   I basically asked the guy to give me the most popular (it's pepperoni and cheese).    I added mushrooms to the pepperoni and had a plain white pizza.   Crust was excellent, pizza toppings was excellent..... overall... definitely A grade.

Bonus!  I took the pizza back to my hotel room and ate it at midnight (not too bad... ) and also breakfast (passable... the crust just didn't have that texture and crunch).  So Grimaldi passes the old pizza test.   So here's the tip guys.... get the biggest!

Hmm.....  we had the red velvet.   Dry and not moist.   Espresso was pretty sour.   I didn't like it at all personally but perhaps others would find this place good.   As a result, it's passable.

Best place for cake?   chantilly patisserie in lomita.   Too pricey?   eat cake in rowland heights.

I'm going with Nick.... wow!   If you like nachos, you'll love Chilaquiles.   It was chips, not spicy chilies and an egg... I never had a combination like this before.   To be honest, it was interesting and absolutely a joy.    I'm not a big fan of breakfast but I'd eat this.     I also had a mango papaya shake.  It tasted just like the papaya shakes you have in taiwan or in tea station or any of the chinese cafes.

Anyhow, coming back to the point, come here for the Chilaquiles.  You won't be disappointed.  Now that I've had it, I got some ideas to try out at home :-)

This is an upscale burger.   I wouldn't say it's my favorite burger that I had but I liked what they did to it.   It's not just using better ingredients, it's also using different textures and tastes (ex. different type of mushrooms) in a familiar setting.    I would that you have to visit just to try it out.

Other good burger places....  Orchard's Fresh in Whittier.

Great location off of 39th in Times Square and very close to Javits.   Very clean and what you expect at a Hampton Inn.   Breakfast is a bit crazy.. I'd go somewhere else.   Overall, my favorite place is a boutique place near SoHo but this place will also do.

This is where "Harry Met Sally".   Not as good as Langers out in Los Angeles but it's a damn good pastrami.   This place is old skool.   Looks like the place hasn't changed in years and I like it that way.    Loved the pastrami (makes my mouth water) and the rueben was pretty good (my #2).   Anyhow, I came here for the experience and I loved every minute of it.

Pretty darn good cheesecake.  I had the original and strawberry shortcake cheesecake.     Both was excellent but I liked the strawberry shortcake more.   It had a really like "cake" portion and the strawberries was excellent.  Not too soggy nor firm.    You can't go wrong by coming here and it's near time square!

I thought I wouldn't like it after making ice cream at home nowadays.   After tasting it, I knew that the ice cream was fresh (after making your own, you kinda know how it's supposed to taste and the texture).   I would say that their favors are interesting.    Among the new modern ice cream shops, this is my favorite so far.    If you like old school, I like fosselman's.

This place is the best cupcake place in the Los Angeles metro area.    Better than sprinkles and Dots.   I'll be using this to as the standard to beat.

Really liked the ice box and red velvet.   very moist and not too sweet.

Service is great, and the shows are great.   Food is alright but you're really coming for the entertainment.     I feel for these guys..... they do comedy for the love.   Also comedy is like ice cream..... there are a lot of different types... some you like, some you don't...   worse case try it and if you don't like it, try another show.
