I visited this place on Friday for afternoon tea with my colleague. Super cute place. It's actually the owner's house. The tea parlour is on the first floor and they have several tables. I wanted to try this tea parlour because of the great reviews on Facebook and they are closing permanently soon.
I went with my colleague and they serve you two pots of teas to go with your savory and then your sweets. The first pot of tea that I tried was the Buckingham Palace Garden Party.
When we first got there, freshly baked scones are placed on your table along with jam and mascarpone cream. The scones were delicious. Then we were served little cucumber sandwiches and asparagus rolls. The last course is the sweets and I really enjoyed the cheesecake. My second pot of tea was the mango pear white.
My colleague is a baker and asked for the recipe. The owner did chat with us for a bit and explained how she made the cheesecake. Everything was delicious and the service was excellent. It was nice to have a slow afternoon with tea chatting with my colleague. I'm sad that this place is closing.
We ate dinner at The Lodge tonight. As I looked through the menu, I noticed the price point was on the higher side. Calamari was $20 as an appetizer. Courtney was our server and was nice and friendly. She took our drink orders but it took 20 minutes to get to us. I noticed the drinks were on the pricier side. My significant other ordered an old fashioned with an Elijah Craig bourbon and it was $19 and our friend ordered a mango margarita on the rocks and that was $19 too.
My significant other and I ordered a burger. We both ordered it medium rare but it came out almost well done. Courtney took his burger back but I was super hungry, I just ate mine. Our friend ordered duck fries and short rib sandwich. The kitchen forgot his duck fries and his short ribs were dry.
My burger was fine. I didn't have any issues with it. Our other friend got the mahi mahi tacos and she loved them. Our other friend got the short rib entree and she loved them too. Courtney was a good server although I was running out of water and she was no where to be found. Getting our drinks and food was super slow. It was pretty busy but I wasn't impressed with the service at all.
Also, my friend asked for the blinds to be put down since she was being blinded by the sunlight and asked Courtney if she could take care of it. Courtney never told us that there isn't a blind there and the manager came to our table and told us they couldn't do anything about it since the blinds were broken.
The ambiance is okay. This location is where Smashing Grapes used to be so the decor looked the same. I can't say I will be back though.

If you want to play open play, you will have to plan ahead. Most of the open plays are always full and you will be put on a waitlist. You don't have to be a member to play, you will pay a little more. I've taken the Beginners classes and played in the Beginners League. The people who play pickleball at Dill Dinkers are seriously competitive. I am a beginner and like to play to have fun. Some of the people who belong or go to Dill Dinkers are competitive, strong personality and at times rude.
On my first day at Dill Dinkers, the gentleman at the front desk was on the phone and didn't acknowledge me. After standing in front of him, I left and found where I was supposed to go. I had no idea I had to sign in as I learned the second week. I mentioned this to the lady who was at the front desk. I feel the staff has different rules for people since no one ever told my friend, she had to sign in.
The staff is okay. You have your nice people and then there are others who work the bare minimum.
This is a really cool restaurant and the food is amazing. We came here after the bridge run so you know we were starving! I had the burger with sweet potato fries and beet margarita! I really enjoyed the food! I highly recommend this restaurant.
The service was excellent and this place looked like it used to be a former house. There is an unused fireplace and the decorations were really cool.
Dined at Gaulart and Maliclet last night with friends. This place is small and have long tables so it isn't good for large groups. I ordered the cucumber soup and Moroccan lamb curry and my friends ordered the Maple and bean soup and potato leek soup seafood boullibase. They give you a bread basket with lots of different kinds of bread. I was in a store earlier in the day and the shop owner recommended the cucumber soup. I liked it but at the end, it got to be salty. I am happy to have tried it. The menu is extensive and would love to try this place for breakfast or lunch next time.
Since this place was small, there were a lot of people and we understood if the server couldn't get to us right away. My only complaint is they charged my friend extra for the rice when it was a substitution and for server didn't let us know that. Just let us know that there is an up charge so she doesn't have to be surprised when the check comes.
