I've had my nails done here twice, and I have to say--Hoang is amazing. Best nail tech I've ever had! (And I've had quite a few between living in NYC & SF.) My nails came out perfect (I chose to go with the Gelish polish that, no lie, lasts 3 weeks looking like I just got it done) and he's really friendly and easy to talk to. My friend Hillary & I chatted with him for a good 3 hours last night while having our nails tended to!

Highly, highly recommend.

I haven't gotten my hair cut here yet but I am definitely considering it. The atmosphere at the salon is great, it smells good, they serve you refreshments while you wait, and all the staff is very friendly.

(Note: Would have given it 5 stars if my portion was larger.)

Stumbled upon this place walking down Polk and searching for nearby things with the Yelp iPhone app.

Nice, romantic atmosphere. Delicious food--I ordered the potato dumplings (which have some Italian name that I cannot recall) and they were really, really good. I just wish my portion was larger, I didn't feel full enough after I had eaten the whole plate. My boyfriend got the steak and said it was the best he'd ever tasted.

Nick's Crispy Tacos

Since I'm not a taco fan I ordered a Chicken Quesedilla, which was good but could have used more cheese.

My boyfriend ordered a taco "Nick's Way" and was disappointed that it wasn't as crispy as he had thought it would be. Seemed like he got 2 soft tacos instead of 2 crispy ones.

Other than that, the atmosphere of the place was quite hilarious--it looks like they just bought an old bar/lounge and kept the decorations the same. There's a disco ball, red walls, and columns with little mirrors glued on them. Totally wasn't expecting that from a cheap taco place, which makes it kinda unique and campy.

Firstly I'd like to point out that this place had the most amazing garlic bread I've ever had in my life. Oh. My. God. It was SO GOOD. I think I ate like 3 or 4 rolls of it, dipped in their garlic olive oil (which is equally as delicious, I wanted to buy some).

For dinner I ordered the 40 Clove Garlic Chicken, which came with Yukon Gold mashed potatoes. The chicken was on the bone which is not my favorite thing (I have this thing against eating any meat off bones) but it was still good, not dried out at all. The mashed potatoes were really smooth and creamy, and of course garlic-y. LOVED them. I'd probably order the potatoes again as a side dish.

My boyfriend got the "Neon" Ravioli, which we were trying to figure out why they were called neon. (Was it the sauce or are the raviolis neon colored or what?) When he got the plate, nothing was so brightly colored as to be labeled "neon" but the pasta *was* different colors, so we assume that was what they meant. (I think it could have just been called "Rainbow" or "Three-color" Ravioli.) Besides the debate on the name and the fact that I didn't get to taste the ravioli for myself (he ate it all before I could even think about asking for a bite) I'm told it was very tasty. (The ravioli there is stuffed with potatoes, by the way, not cheese or meat! Mmmm.)

We didn't try the dessert, but I can see us going back there again and I intend to try it then.

My first encounter with this restaurant was just standing outside it, waiting for my boyfriend's friends to meet us. The owner came out to persuade us to come in, and he was hilarious. Very stereotypical Italian and very friendly. We learned he was from Brooklyn, NY (which hit home for me since I'm from the Bronx!) and has a PhD in eating (to which he proved by pointing to his rather large belly).

Because the owner was so entertaining, my boyfriend and I decided to go in and try out the food on another day--my boyfriend's birthday, to be exact.

The atmosphere is welcoming, the staff is very friendly and entertaining. Our waiter winked a lot and asked us if we were ready to order in a sing-songy voice with an exaggerated Italian accent. The bread was good, and when the food came it was exceptional. I've never had Rosemary Chicken that amazingly delicious before. My boyfriend had the Rigatoni Carbonara, which he assures me was also really delicious. They also gave us several free refills on our drinks. The waitstaff & owners were attentive, and the owner himself came over to our table several times and addressed my boyfriend by name (and even called me "princess" once). For my boyfriend's birthday they gave us a free dessert, which was not something I would normally order (it was something coffee-flavored) but it was very light and surprisingly good for something that tasted like coffee. (I'm not a fan of coffee, you see.) The entire restaurant also sang us happy birthday, and my boyfriend got to blow out a candle.

All-in-all, we really enjoyed this restaurant and would definitely go back again. In fact, I could see us being regulars.

Also, my boyfriend wanted to let you know that the only bad thing about this restaurant that night was that there were 4 other brithdays besides his own being celebrated there. (We heard them sing the birthday song 5x!)

This Italian place is just around the corner from where I lived growing up, and the food here is amazing. The portions are huge, so you'll certainly never leave hungry and without leftovers that will be just as delicious tomorrow. I'm a fan of the fetticine alfredo and the chicken marsala. My ex-boyfriend loved the calamari, said it was the best he'd ever had. And my dad loves this place, too, he's always trying to find excuses to go.

It can get loud during busy dinner hours--Italians like to talk!--so if you prefer it when it's quieter go before normal dinner hours.

I used to go to this place every weekend during my lunch break when I worked at the 5th Ave Apple Store. My favorite thing to order were the Pan Fried Noodles with Chicken, which are easily the best pan friend noodles I've ever had.

Then there are, of course, the famous "soupy buns." (Known as "pork steamed buns" on their menu.) These. Things. Are. Amazing! Sometimes my friends & I go just to get 2-3 orders of the buns.

Gigantic martini menu makes it exceedingly difficult to choose a drink! But, that said, the martinis are good and very, very strong. (I drank quite a few in a single sitting and got rather drunk, not realizing how much alcohol is actually in them. Be careful!) The food is also delicious, though I've only eaten the appetizers.

My favorite part is the victorian-like couches at the back, great for groups of friends to sit around and hang out.

Surprisingly good food for a bar! The nachos, chicken fingers, and french fries here are delicious. Drinks are decently priced, too. My favorite of their signatures was the Malibu Punch.

Great for group gatherings, as there's a large back section with couches and sofa chairs along the walls. The artwork rotates, since it's all for sale, so there's always something new to look at. The atmosphere is kinda indie.
