You know a restaurant is authentic when you see it packed with people from its culture. I took it as a good sign. Looks like the place gets really busy, but Hubs and I were lucky to score a table right away.

The menu is only two pages, which is good for indecisive people like me. KISS. Keep It Stupid Simple. [Or is it Keep It Simple, Stupid? Hahaha.] It's difficult to not over-order though between the two of us because we both love having variety when we dine, but we tried our darnedest!

We decided on sharing the Chicken & Tofu Pot, Dolsot Bibimbap, and Korean BBQ Beef. Hubs really loved the tofu pot. Pure protein he said. I enjoyed the bibimbap but it was so HOT to eat without burning my mouth. Geebus. Also, the red sauce that accompanied it ["gochujang"-- per the Korean bestie] wasn't spicy at all. Not sure if that was a fluke.

Extra points for having DONG in the name. LOLOLOLOL

Really excited to see this place finally open! It's not as large as the Monterey Road location, but glad that there's one in this side of town now.

I came the night of their Grand Opening, and there was SO much people. Will try to come back when there's less crowds and more room to peruse the aisles.

Definitely worth checking out if you're in the area =)

I put this review off since June 2011. Haha. Let's hope I still remember how this place was...

So I shared the Lamb Kebab plate with the hubs and got onion rings on the side. The kebabs came atop a plate of basmati rice, and a Mediterranean salad. The rice and salad was, well you know, rice and salad. The lamb kebabs were seasoned right but the meat was a little on the tougher side.

Casual atmosphere. A little overpriced as far as food goes. Service is a bit slow in the food prep. You pay at the counter, and they give you a pager while you sit down and wait for your food. We waited a while for our food to come out, despite the fact that it wasn't a full house.

Would I come again? Maybe if I were in the immediate neighborhood but probably wouldn't come out of the way for it. There's many other good Mediterranean eateries out there, especially in Fremont.

For $1 a taco, you really can't complain much! The hubz and I have tried the pastor, asada, pollo, and carnitas. They were out of lengua, to our disappointment. Next time I think I'll ask for salsa on the side because it definitely was a kick in the mouth!

The Nitty Gritty: the carne asada sadly did not have the charred/grilled texture I like. It was more like braised pulled beef or something. Same with the carnitas. The pastor and chicken were both alright- not too shabby. Also- they have vegetarian burritos here for like $4 something. ARF? How interesting.

Highlights: Like I said earlier- you can't beat the price really. They load up the tacos with a good amount of meat and pile it onto two tortillas. And then you get a free small horchata or tamarindo drink when you buy 5 tacos.

Knocking off a star because I was really disappointed with their strawberry white cake. It was extremely dry inside and I now feel robbed at the price we paid on it because it did not deliver in quality.

I came back for a second taste. I ordered the same pork roll sandwich, and although this time the girl gave a good amount of veggie fillers, she only slathered the yellow mayo/pate mixture on the bottom of the bread roll. I asked if she could put some on the top as well, and she said, "75 cents extra".

Well I'll be, missy. This mayo better be God's gift to Earth if you're charging that much for an extra slop of it. But you'll never catch me paying 75 cents more for a teaspoon of mayo. Me, a cheapskate? Maybe. I handed her my $2 and bailed.

The sandwich was the same as before, just OK. I do like the sticks of cucumber, it gives such freshness to the sandwich. I think the extra mayo (and A LOT of it, please!) would've been the key to earning another star from me.

I finally got to try out  the sandwiches here. They had a few varieties to choose from, even had regular american ham (yes, the Oscar Meyer kind) which I thought was a little strange. I opted for a banh mi cha (pork roll). The girl making it for me was being stingy with all the ingredients for some reason. I had to keep asking her to add more of each thing as she went along. The mayo is indeed, yellow, and tastes much better than regular mayo. Next time I'll ask her for more of that, too. Heh heh.

I toasted the sandwich in the toaster oven for a few minutes, maybe a TINY bit too long, crumbs got everywhere when I was eating. Overall the sandwich was just OK for me. I'll definitely ask for more mayo spread all over because I despise dry sandwiches, and then I'll update this review accordingly. But for $2, it wasn't a bad deal.

    CASH ONLY.

I'm sure gonna miss this little place when I move out of the area... so until I do, I promise to come here at least twice a week to get my daily coffee and croissant fix. I've been there enough times that the owner needs not ask me what I'd like, but instead just greets me 'hello' with a smile, and proceeds to make my usual drink.

I love the fruit filled croissants here (all $1.75 each). I've tried the apple, strawberry, and apricot, the latter being my fave-- along with the ham and cheese croissant. They also have muffins for about $1.20 each and I've considered many a time to try them out, but the croissants always win me over instead.

Plenty of parking available. Minimal lines [versus, say, Starbucks] so if you're in a hurry, this is a good place to visit! Cash only.

The fiance and I discovered this place on a whim. We were at home on a Saturday afternoon, after sleeping in most of the morning, and we wanted to get outside and do something. After doing a search online for a hiking trail that met all of our requirements: shady & dog-friendly, we decided on Loch Lomond. The directions it gives you online is a little vague so I'd recommend using your smart phone to navigate, although the reception is a little weak on the drive up. It definitely is a hidden gem! The drive up here is SUPER windy and twisty, so if you get carsick easily, this might not be the best place to come. You'll start to grumble and complain that the drive feels like a journey to Narnia [Are we there yet?] but once you get up to the top and see the view, the utter beauty will shut you right up.

You can hike, fish, picnic, BBQ or go boating. They have paddle boats and row boats you can rent out for pretty cheap! The trails are awesome and scenic. Definitely one of our top favorite hiking trails! You could probably come hiking out there on a hot day and still manage to stay cool with all the tree cover you get from the redwoods and various trees. Also, there's an island in the middle of the lake that you can boat to. I haven't had a chance to go boating but it's on the list of things to do when we come back here! One thing I must mention: NO alcohol is allowed here folks. So leave your keg at home.

First of all, I love how they call the sauce "lube". After an awesome hike with the pups and fiance at Loch Lomond, we headed down Ocean and was on the hunt for a casual place to grab a bite. This place popped up on my Yelp app and I remembered driving past this place many a time but never got the chance to try it out. And was it dog friendly? Yup!

I had the Chick-a-Dee, which is basically a grilled chicken breast on a whole wheat bun with Betty's secret lube. He had the Point Grinder, which is a half pound burger with sauteed mushrooms, bleu cheese and green onion lube. We ordered sweet potato fries to share, and a cup of chili on the side (for the chili loving guy). Fries were nom nom! Nice and crispy the way I like em.

Service was friendly. Food prep time was a little on the long side. I suppose if we wanted a fast cooked burger we should've gone to McDonalds, so I won't ding them on that. I'd come back!

Drive through is open til 3 am. That makes my boo happy. He can get his baked potato and chili after a night of binge drinking. And even better that those are both on the value menu!

That is all.

SHOCKER ALERT: Nem nuong cuon appetizer came out BEFORE our entrees! What the! Am I in the Twilight Zone? Seriously, this is the first time in my 20 something [ahem] years that I've experienced this phenomenon at a Vietnamese restaurant. LOL

Other than that, the food was your average com tam and noodle bowls. I think they're more known for the nem nuong spring rolls here that are very, very similar to the ones in SoCal.
