My Second Favorite Website
Last night B decided to surprise me with some fine French dining for my bday!
Warning to the ladies: more is more... and I'm talking about the length of your skirts here. Thank goodness my mini dress was equipped with long sleeves- otherwise the death stares I received from several patrons probably would have been accompanied by a full on riot!
We began our meal with the baby green and pear salad. It was so light and fresh... def the perfect way to start. I couldn't get enough of the assortment of breads or my iced tea. The tea had a hint of something exotic tasting that kept me reaching for it again and again, even though I knew I'd have trouble falling asleep with all that caffeine!
The main courses were amazing to look at and just as exciting to eat. B ordered the beef and I went with the pork. The meats were so tender they could be easily cut with a butter knife.
For dessert we shared a Grand Marnier Souffle with fresh berries. The flavor of the Marnier and the egg were pretty much all I could taste but the light and fluffy texture of the souffle was a nice way to end the meal.
Of course the service was top notch from start to finish, although I wish the server had described the dishes again as she was serving them.
The decor is simple and elegant but I did notice that it could use a good cleaning inside. The wall next to our table had drips and splatters on it!
Overall it was a fantastic evening.... great food and even better company!! ; )

This place is darn good. I wasn't in the mood for pork so I shared a chicken and beef teriyaki plate with a coworker. It comes with a generous portion of rice and coleslaw (of course I didn't eat the slaw... but my coworker liked it). Totally enough food for two, which keeps the price very reasonable at about $5 each.
The teriyaki is SPICY, just the way I like it. Next time I'm going to try the teriyaki cheesesteak!

This place was pretty good. I was immediately surprised how clean and friendly it was. My friend and I were seated right away and even though it was pretty busy, we got our food within ten minutes.
My pho was just alright. The noodles and broth were really good but the meatballs were way too dense and chewy. I didn't even eat them. My friend's beef looked amazing though. The spring rolls were average.
I'll go back... I'll just order the beef next time.

I had lunch here with B the other day. We arrived around 12:30 and the place was totally packed. I knew it would be from the full parking lot!
We decided to share a super chicken burrito served wet style. The wait was pretty long but I didn't really mind because their chips and salsa is so good! Spicy though- so make sure you have your water at hand before you dig in.
The burrito was really good. The chicken is absolutely saturated in their spicy delish sauce. One burrito was more than enough for both of us. Can't wait to go back!

My love for TB lives on with this location. This spot is the closest to my new part time gig at Pet Villa (love) so I'm sure I'll be frequenting it whenever I get a midday craving for something outside the bun.
The guy at the drive thru was super nice and repeated my order (all of two items, but still) back to mean in perfect, clear English. My food was exactly what I'd expect from a good TB experience- lots of chicken and sauce in my quesadilla and a perfectly made burrito!

UM... I know we're in a recession and everything, but c'mon. Both the Salvation Army and the Goodwill branches are really starting to disappoint me. The prices are getting out of control!
I had a few minutes the other day to stop by this location and see what the furniture/kitchenware section had to offer. What it had to offer was jacked up prices for a bunch of HIGHLY USED ITEMS!
These stores get these things for free- what's with the higher than craigslist price tags???!! No thanks, I'd rather go to Target and pay a few more bucks for something new.

I think of this place as the Chevy's or Chili's of Italian food. You'll get something edible but it's not fine dining by any means.
The wait was pretty severe for 6pm, even though it was a Saturday. B and I managed to solve this dilemma by eating at the bar. Our bartender/server was super nice and everything came out quickly but I wasn't blown away with what we got.
B ordered the chicken and steak skewers and I had the stuffed chicken marsala. For a $50.00 meal I was kind of disappointed. My "stuffed" chicken was two mashed chicken breasts slapped on top of each other with some cheese in between. B's plate looked good but it's nothing that I couldn't have made better at home.
I'd much rather go to a place like Osteria for Italian food at this price...

SAVED MY LIFE. Ok, well not yet- and like, not literally. But still, they deserve a five star review for their customer service alone.
I called tonight after getting a flat on my way to my pet sitting client's house. Total bummer. Even more of a bummer because it's the day before Xmas eve and every other jerk I called was ho-humming and price "adjusting" for the inconvenient timing. Sorry, flat tires happen on almost holidays too, people!
So after reaching maximum distraughtedness (yes, it was so bad I get to make up a word), I finally googled towing companies that accept State Farm.
Immediately Ray, the very awesome guy who answered the phone, put me at ease. He assured me that my insurance covered the cost of a tow and that I didn't have to pay out of pocket. UM, yeah- two other places tried to tell me otherwise (they were very mistaken).
I'm due to have my poor car picked up by them tomorrow. I don't even care if they're the biggest jerks ever from this point- they've given me peace of mind tonight and that's EXACTLY what I needed.
Update: Ray came and picked up my car this morning. Best service ever. Five stars all the way.
So people, when you need a tow, a tire change, etc. CALL THESE GUYS!

I love coming into this store. They have all of the wonderful girly indulgences that I adore. A friend of mine used to work here and got me hooked on their luxury shampoos, lotions, and cute little accessories.
My typical shopping list includes: Burts Bees everything, OPI polishes (they have tons of colors), Supre Hempz lotion, and maybe a crystal hair pin or toe ring. They also have a wide array of salon quality hair products and tools.
I even found a random little porcelain box shaped like a mail truck that held stamps! My aunt works for the post office so I was super excited to get it for her.

I'd been to this venue when it was under its previous names so I was not surprised to find it just as lackluster and typical as any other SJ spot. Beyond the purple lighting and some new seating areas this place is exactly the same. Same hip hop "hits", same SJ crowd, same overpriced drinks.... nothing special at all.
It was supposedly "Jersey Shore" night featuring Ronnie. By "feature" they mean that he sits in a blocked off area by himself (with the occasional half naked girl allowed in for a photo op). It was pretty pointless to even have him there, no one seemed to care anyways.
The stripper boxes are hilarious. My friend and I decided to hop up to get a better look at the zoo exhibit for the night (Ronnie). We left on the early side when a group of rude people decided to commandeer our VIP seating area. So much for security.
I got in for free so whatever. I definitely wouldn't pay to come in here and if I ever happen to go again I'll be sure to have a drink somewhere else first.
