In an area where you are more likely to purchase some speed than you would barbeque, you will stumble upon Speed Queen!  A Milwaukee hidden barbeque treasure.   Milwaukee isn't known for barbeque, but I stumbled across this place about a year ago and have been dying to try it again.  

Things you should know about Speed Queen-
1) This area is pretty sketchy, not a place to go after dark, or by yourself.
2) The register and kitchen are separated by bullet proof glass.
3) Understanding 1 and 2, you should probably plan on ordering food over the phone to-go.
4) Unless you are black, you are minority in this area.
5) If you decide to eat here, you may end up getting what I like to call the "White Boy Cut".
6) Get the sauce on the side, they like to pile it on.

The first time I had Speed Queen I had it to-go.  I had the ribs.  The ribs were honest to God some of the best I have ever had.  Since then, I have been waiting to come back to Milwaukee.

For my second trip I decided to eat at Speed Queen.  I ordered some Pork Ribs.  This is where I am pretty I got the "White Boy Cut".  The cut of Pork Ribs I got weren't nearly as good as I have had in the past.  However they were still pretty good.  The Ribs have a great smoke flavor, great rub flavor and little char on them.  The Ribs are cooked perfectly, the generally still have some pink in them and are really juicy.  The sauce is pretty good, but they pile it on.  So I recommend getting on the side, I made the mistake of not doing that this time. The sauce is very sweet and kinda reminds me of a sweet and sour sauce.

I am giving this place 4 stars, because I think more people should know about and try this place, but my experience this time wasn't nearly that good.  From what I have had in the past, this place has some unstoppable ribs.  If you follow my directions you will have a much better experience.

Wrigleysville Dogs is just down the street from Wrigley Field.  It is near a bunch of different bars which makes this a great place to eat when you are whorishly drunk.  The hotdogs are decent other wise.  Depending on how much you have had to drink you might just fall in love.

The best sausage I have had here would have to be the Smoked Shrimp and Pork.  It was mind blowing.

Finally Pequod's!  I have had you bookmarked for too long.

I am a big fan of deep dish pizza.  I have heard good things about Pequod's and was happy to get the opportunity to eat here.  So I put on my pizza eating pants and made way for Deep Dish.   Most of the time I got out to eat, I am a Lone Ranger.  So I don't normally go to pizza places because I feel awkward ordering an entire pizza to myself.  

I went for the Sausage and Pepperoni with/ Onions Deep Dish-  Here's a couple things you need to know about Pequod's Pizza.  
1) The Crust is dark and a little charred
2) Most of the deep dish will be dough
The ingredients were spot on.  The sausage was crispy on the outside and moist on the inside.  The spices in the sausage were insanely delicious.  The pepperoni's were average.  The crust is crisp and the middle of the pizza is doughy and delicious, but not undercooked.  The sauce was flavorful.  This was a excellent pizza.

I would recommend this if you are ever in this area.  The pizza is some of the best deep dish I have had.

So apparently in Hell's Kitchen they don't serve molten lava, I've been confused my whole life.  I think there are restaurants all over the country called Hell's Kitchen.  This one is located in Minneapolis.  

This place was pretty good.  I went in during Happy Hour and got some killer deals.  I had a small Bison Burger, a Crab Cake, BBQ Pork Nachos, and 2 surprise beers for less than $20.  

The Bison Burger was delicious, it was lean and flavorful.  The ketchup that comes with the fries is house made, and tastes like a mixture of cocktail and ketchup.  It was pretty delicious.

The Crab Cake was pretty decent.  It wasn't life changing, but it was well prepared and the remoulade sauce was tasty.

The BBQ Pork Nachos were pretty outstanding.  It had delicious pork, sweet bbq sauce, coleslaw and a couple different types of cheese over chips.  Damn good.  I would recommend this if you come here.

The surprise beers were a special for $2 that the bartender picks for you.  I loved this.  

All this for $20, this is worth a visit when you are in Minneapolis.

If you ever get an opportunity to travel British Columbia through the Canadian Rockies be prepared for some of the most beautiful scenery in North America.  Imagine the US Rocky Mountains on steroids.  The US Rockies have better highways to travel on, the Canadian Rockies go down to a 2 lane highway with challenging turns and steep grades.  The rivers, lakes, wildlife and mountain tops you will be viewing will make it all worth it.

Wawa!  No, not the convenient store.  Wawa, ON, a town of 3,500 people located in the middle of nowhere on the east bank of Lake Superior.  Be prepared to be stared at, like you are from another planet, by the locals if you ever visit here.   There were only a few restaurants and I decided to go to a Chinese restaurant near the hotel.

I had a Chicken Balls and Beef Chop Suey combination.  Chicken Balls?  They were actually pretty good.  Chunks of chicken battered, fried and served with sweet and sour sauce.  The Beef Chop Suey was pretty good as well.  I was hungry so my socks would have been good at this point.  I would recommend this place if you ever here.

Keep your eyes peeled for the high population of Moose in the area.

Saskatoon!  Another Canadian city with not a lot of good food, so I just went to the hotel bar.  This bar was actually kinda cool and had a decent selection of beers.  Like Heineken on tap?  You don't see that very often.  I also had a MGD on draft just for the sake of kicking ass.

I had a Bacon Cheeseburger and fries.  I think I enjoyed this more than it probably was, I was just extremely hungry.  Decent bar food.  The fries were good.

If you are ever in Saskatoon, this would be a good place to have some drinks.  More importantly, if you find yourself in Saskatoon, it is probably a good idea to go out and drink a lot.

So while in Edmonton, I decided to hit up some Indian cuisine.  Seeing how Haweli was near my hotel I walked over.  This place is a upscale Indian restaurant.

I ordered the Tiki Masala and some Naan bread.

The Tiki Masala came out on a hot griddle, similar to fajitas.  I love this dish.  The chicken was tender and the sauce was tasty.  The only thing not great about this dish was the lack of sauce and had too many bell peppers.  The sauce is the main focus of Indian dishes, so give it to me.

This place is worth a visit if you are in Edmonton, it could easily be 4 stars.

I guess you would figure I would go after some Barbeque while in Calgary.  This place just happened to be near my hotel, so I walked over there.

They had a few different selection of meat.  I went with the St Louis Pork Ribs, which came with cornbread, hush puppies, baked beans and coleslaw.  I wouldn't expect to find great ribs in Canada, but these weren't that bad.  The St Louis Style had a decent dry rub on it with some sauce.  The sauce wasn't that great, but the dry rub and pork were fairly decent.  The meat didn't have a lot of smoke flavor and I was disappointed to see the chefs using the microwave.  As for all the sides, I thought they were all below average.

All in all this place wasn't bad, but I would only come here for a sandwich.  But Canada isn't known for barbeque.  I would give this 2 stars if it were in the USA, but since its Canada I will give it 3.
