Hollingshead's Delicatessen

My favorite deli in Orange County! This is a family owned business run by 3 generations - grandfather, father, grandson. Everything is made from scratch including the sides: macaroni salad, devils egg, potato salad. Hollingshead makes awesome homemade sandwiches with a a wide selection of beers to drink with. Great place to hangout with friends. However, it gets really busy especially during live game broadcasts. Either way though, I really enjoy coming here after work to just unwind and relax. Casual atmosphere w/ easy-going people.

I'm so glad I was able to stop by Tilth during my visit to Seattle. In addition to awesome late-night happy hours in Seattle, they have great breakfast/brunch places!

This cozy little restaurant is hidden in a residential home. Loved the atmosphere indoors/outdoors. Food was amazing - my bf and I must've ordered 5 entrees/dishes for just the two of us. Brunch was real comforting, New American cuisine style. The chef is inspired by use of local farmers and organic ingredients. I especially loved the duck burgers, pasta olio, heirloom apple salad. It's too bad I didn't have enough time to stay for lunch and dinner! hahaha

Great place for a small groups 2-5. Restaurant capacity 100-125.  Average brunch meal for 2 including beverage, tips  $30-50.

Would definitely revisit Tilth if I come to Seattle again!

One of my favorite lunch spots in bev-weho areas. Used to come here on Fridays for lunch with coworkers and lemonade always manages to surprise with something new on the menu. Comfort  food infused with all sorts of cuisines - curries, lamb stews, pasta salads, duck confit. Best of all- the price is great. I have yet ordered anything that I disliked, and I usually end up ordering food to take home for dinner (I don't think they are open at night). And of course, when you visit lemonade -- you must try their lemonades! I love the blueberry mint lemonade complemented by one of their desserts. Located in a cute small cottage, but an awesome place to try for brunch with a small group 2-4 ppl. Price including tip approx $15 a person. Would love to go back but it's so hard to make it there, esp now that I live in OC :(

Awesome price. $2-10 for pants depending on the hem. Owner used to make custom suits. He is very knowledgeable and has a keen eye. Excellent service - hemmed and also ironned my pants, quick (10 minutes per pair of pants if needed urgently), and there is a lounge u can hangout and wait at on the 2nd floor/loft.

K'ya Street Fare

Located on Harbor Blvd. intersection of Ball in Anaheim near Disneyland. It's connected to a hotel lobby/lounge. Inspired by tapa from around the world, street fare. K'ya is definitely a restaurant with an interesting concept.

All the dishes range between $5-10 dollars. The cool thing is that you can go with 5 friends and order 20 dishes and try almost everything on the menu. Japanese, French, Italian, Cuban, Hawaiian, Mexican, Cajun, Chinese cuisines - make your pick!

I give K'ya a 3-star. They won me over by their concept and dessert. Must try their Berry Bread Pudding it's divine. Otherwise, the tapas are mediocre, since there really isn't a focus on a specific cuisine. Even so, I definitely recommend K'ya for a good meal after a trip to Disneyland. Good price and food with lots of choices!

Complementary valet service up to 3 hours. Perfect for groups of 5-10. Great open space interior. Price range for food, drinks, tip included approx. $20-25 per person.

Located in old town Culver City. Situated near to the Historic Culver Hotel. In a historic building, it is a two-level bar, lounge. Surprisingly though, they do serve some awesome food.

Full-bar downstairs, and a smaller bar upstairs for drinks. It gets really crowded at Rush on weekends, as they are known for their lounge. However if you ever decide to stop by on a weekday night, you must sit-in and dine.

I love Love LOVE their sliders!! OMG. You know being a girl, I'm usually turned off by burgers or anything red meat and carbs. But I thought Rush's sliders were amazing. Their fries are also one of my favorites. I have also tried a few other dishes on their menu, and they are also pretty good.

Great for groups of 5-10. Capacity: 200+, price range for dine-in experience approx. $25 per person.

Located and hidden in the heart of old town Chapman. Great selection of hearty American food and beer.

Homemade potato chips. Frites, buttermilk fried chicken, sheperd's pie, mac n cheese. Some good and greasy for the heart. I enjoyed mostly everything I had, but maybe they're all food that pair well w/ some beer :D I must say though, I was a little disappointed by the main entrees. My sheperd pie wasn't an actual pie - tasted more like just mashed potatoes w/ grits. The "pie" was just crusted over the top w/ cheese.

There's a variety of beer as well. What's cool is you can select 4 shot-size beers for tasting for $2 each, total of $8. Of course, then you can order your favorite selection in full size later on.

Most memorable dish: i'm a sweet tooth, but can be fairly picky sometimes. Even so, I loved the dessert. It's called the Cafe y Cigaro must be of age to consume. Expresso chocolate cookie ice-cream sandwich. The ice cream inside is over the top, made from vanilla bean infused w/ tobacco, which adds a tingly sensation to the icey feeling in your mouth.

I'd definitely come back here for food and drinks--  I think the dessert won me over. Good for groups from 5-10 people. Capacity at Haven is approx. 100. Price range for one w/ food, drinks, tip included.. approx $25-30 per person.

Gastro-pub, bar located in Santa Monica (capacity: approx. 50) and old town Culver City (capacity: approx. 150).

Great beer selection, paired with awesome gourmet burger. What more can I say? The burgers at Father's Office are one of a kind - literally, they serve one kind. You cannot customize, request or make changes. No ketchup! What's in the burger? Some fine quality A grade beef, caramelized onions, bleu cheese, arugula, and some secret ingredient house made sauce..

To complement the burger and beer, Father's Office also has awesome frites - potato or sweet patoto. They fry them when you order, so they definitely come out crisp and crunchy. The rest of the menu is also worth trying, not as good, but just as interesting.

Beer selection: endless, since they get new beer all the time every season. Bartenders are all beer connoisseurs, and fairly friendly.

Note: Food, beverage, and tip included $25/person. Great for 5-10 people. Just remember, Father's Office is pretty much self serve. You need to seat yourself, and it gets packed Mon-Sunday.  Be sure to arrive early!

Hamamori Restaurant and Lounge

Best Japanese fusion restaurant in Orange County area. Located at the Crystal Court mall on the 3rd floor. Casual small chic restaurant. Capacity approx. 60. Sushi bar seats about 15 - so get there early!

Hamamori-san definitely takes Japanese food to a different level. Sit at the sushi bar and he will take care of you. Sit, relax and enjoy. It's always fun to watch him prepare food, he adds a contemporary touch to Japanese cuisine. Hamamori always finds a way to surprise me with something new from beginning to end of meal.

He will make sure to give you the highest quality food. I've seen him toss a whole box of freshly opened uni away, because it was not up to his standards.

Some creative cool dishes:
-seared scallop w/ truffle
-Hammamori pizza
-kobacha squash creme brulee

Listed in: Great sushi!

yum. i love the tacos and flatbreads. Tacos are awesome - reminds me of Kogi's. Succulent, marinated meat - duck and carnitas. One thing though, I've visited a few times now and I feel that it's not very consistent. The meat is a little dry sometimes on some days.

However, they do have an amazing ambience at this small dive bar located in Santa Ana. The staff is extremely friendly and hospitable. Did I mention they make some really cool drinks? Lola Gaspar is good for small groups. Capacity: approx 40-50. I will definitely come back for more and try their other dishes.

My ending note, I wish they could keep the kitchen a little cleaner.. I could see the dirty floors from sitting outside.
