Alright, it's been said they have new ownership and new vets but I'm telling you this is still the place. Everyone there was friendly, knowledgeable and took the care they provided seriously! I love that at the end of my visit they asked for survey feedback. Awesome!

Little miss flea bag went in today for a check up and the care was spot on. She was a little stressed from the car ride and the construction outside but once she got into the office she calmed right down. We saw Dr. Fong who is compassionate, knowledgeable, has a great sense of humor and most importantly really really good with her. She's an easy going cat but that didn't stop him from checking her out on more or less her terms - which she likes. The entire check up felt more like we were doting on her rather than examining her.

He listens to what my concerns were and didn't try to upsale but rather encouraged me to shop around for the best deal. I also love that they don't over vaccinate - she's indoors and they only give the repiratory which I like.

Anyway, Furball 2 is going next week for her shots and check up and she's a tad more neurotic but I have confidence that it will be another good visit.

They'll probably give you fair warning on the phone but this bears repeating - MAJOR construction on practically the entire neighborhood. Street parking is rooooough. Give yourself 20 mins to park - save yourself and animals the stress of looking for a spot.

I love Irving Pet Hospital and highly recommend taking your fuzzy/scaly/balding animal friends here!

This place (I think most do?) gives newly adopted friends a free check up to make sure all the nuts and bolts are in working order. I took my newly adopted kitten little to see Dr. Borat who spent an entire 30 mins with us checking her out. He gave me helpful advice on how to help her become more confident and insight on what her past might have included before her shelter days by looking at her clipped ears. I was impressed by his knowledge, attention to detail and that he didn't rush us out of there for our free visit. I also forgot our paperwork proving that she was recently adopted and they didn't bat an eye, didn't charge us, just wished us the best of luck. Outstanding!

Turns out she needed eye goo and she's been back once for a stomach mishap. She really wasn't very sick and we still didn't get a hard time!

As you can probably tell, I am anal about my cat's health, the fact that she goes here is proof that they are a great group of professionals.

This place is still solid! It's been a while since we've been and I was a little bummed to see that my all time favorite salad in the world is no longer on the menu. However, it forced me to spread my wings and I loved their take on the relleno I had instead.

Tasty drinks, tasty food and what really stood out is the service. It's chill, they don't get all up in your business. What I really appreciated was on my error, I ordered a flavor of margarita I didn't like. I should have known better, it wasn't my favorite fruit flavor so naturally it wasn't going down smooth for me. I hate sending things back so I simply ordered another - they asked why I apologized for not liking it and whattddaya know, they comped the drink I didn't like.

A nice touch, and I'll continue to pop in now and then.

    Manzanita salad and cilantro gimlet.

Best meal ever. Had it two times now and both times I left feeling very very happy.

One time my bartender had a very heavy hand and I had a warm belly. The other time the drink was balanced and pretty much perfect.

The dressing on the salad, the cool and crispy lettuce with the warm saucy beans is TO DIE FOR!

Never had a problem, super tasty. I think the dude likes the enchiladas. I will be back again.

I usually like to hold off on a 5 star review until I've had the chance to visit a place more than once however my experience today at Hair Candy is causing me to break form.

I just spent a good 3 hours with Dimitrios and it was one of the most positive hair experiences I've ever had in San Francisco. He didn't flinch at the solid inch of split ends and honestly listened to what shortly became my new hair vision. I say this because it was one of the best hair consultations I've ever had. He had hair samples, showed me length ideas with my hair and I felt like we really communicated what was going on. This continued during the cut, he was constantly asking for feedback and thinned out a few layers with precision and grace.

My hair vision involved dying old highlights back to my base color and adding other pieces of highlights underneath the top layer. He's fantastic with color, my hair is richer and the highlights have just the right amount of warmth that I wanted.

He did a great job on the cut as well. I could tell that he was genuinely excited about what the final result would be and I just love, love, love it.

My entire visit I really felt at home, never rushed and in a really fun / chill environment. I've been salon hopping these last 2 years and I can say with conviction that I've found a home.

Hands down I recommend Hair Candy and Dimitrios. I don't see how Crystal A could have had the experience she describes in her review because everyone was so genuinely interested in getting my hair how I wanted it  and are all really lovely people.

What a fantastic store. Large enough to have just about anything you could possibly desire but not so large that you feel overwhelmed browsing the aisles.

Super helpful, friendly and approachable staff. Not to mention, they know their stuff! They've helped me choose everything from sleeping bags, long johns, running accessories...you name it! If you need help, they're there. If you just want to browse, they'll let you be. I love it.

I think prices are reasonable, everything has a marked down sticker on it so I know I can spend more somewhere else. Usually outdoor gear is something I spurge in (nothing is worse than being too cold, or wet). I have found absolutely anything and everything I've ever wanted to do outdoors at this place.

The final bonus point is the community involvement from recycling old gear to message boards with cool stuff to being pooch friendly...these guys rock.

This is the type of place that inspires you to cook a fresh meal. I totally splurged and got 2 types of cheeses. I earned it after getting my flu shot right?

Yes, not cheap but also not cheap ingredients. The special occasion corner store if you will.

Thankfully it's a little far of a walk or else every Tuesday would end up being a special occasion and I'd be broke.

Dug this place with it's cozy atmosphere and fresh drinks. Service was attentive yet not pushy. I had a really tough time deciding what I wanted to try and ultimately chose one with bubbly and tequilla amongst other tasty ingredients.

Not super close to me but close to friend's work. A place worth recommending for an afterwork drink.

ps yelp addy is a little off for us non Oaklanders who don't know our way around. The entrance is on Clay  between 11th and 12th.

Went here thinking it was Bonny Doon...has it really been 3 years? Where the hell have I been? We were halfway through our tasting when I thought...hmmm this artwork looks really dull. So needless to say, they haven't changed the interior very much.

Decent wines - fav was a chard! I never buy that wine but I loved it. Our guy pouring was neglectful, he forgot one wine and vanished for a bit. We called him on it, he gave us an off the list pour and made up for it.

Met a new friend which is awesome! We ended up drinking the dessert wine under the redwoods. She's rad and now I need to find her email address to say yo!

Not sure if I'll be back. I always made the trip for Bonny Doon ...these guys didn't wow me the same way.

Came here for drinks and they were outstanding. One of them involved being lit on fire. ON FIRE people! Service was friendlyish.

Anyway. I love rye. It's seriously my favorite beverage and they do it justice here. That being said, a great time was had, loved the drinks, but I don't ever find myself craving to return. I'm more likely going to check out a new place that also serves up some tasty rye libations.

This place makes shopping, cooking and eating a delight. I struggle to spend more than $10 on a few days worth of produce. I now always have fresh salad fixings, garlic, shallots and fruits on hand.

Super nice owners and everyone working here makes me smile. Love being called hon. I still haven't tried the OJ...but I will. don't worry I will.

Highest produce quality in the immediate area. Go here!

The arcade game makes my inner and outter geek so incredibly happy. Strong pours, good beers on tap, friendly patrons. One of my favorite spots!
