Mt. Baldy is definitely "chee-hoo!" status! Let me tell you why:
Price. Mt. Baldy had a promotion last winter, allowing me to get a season pass for $50, which means for $50 I can ride the slopes whenever I want for how many times I can for the whole season. This is the best deal ever. All of my friends whoever got this ticket got so stoked by that.
Distance. It IS really close. If the traffic is not that bad, it only takes about 1 hour 40 minutes. Image you go from Malibu, where you can lay on the gorgeous beach or catch some epic waves, probably 2 hours later you will be surrounded by snow! All you need to do is to get ready to rock the slopes!
Now the down part:
The facilities are very old; signs aren't so clear.
Not too many easy-ride and beginner-friendly runs.
The driving up to the top of the mountain is pretty crazy, especially when the road is icy. But I think it makes this place more of a badass--it's a challenge, you make it, you make it.
Although Mt. Baldy has limitations, nothing can beat the price and distance. For that, it deserves five stars.

Yeah, call me subjective, yeah I take it personal, whatever.
The food taste the same as Panda Express. Panda is good for what it is (you can't beat the prince), but this is just not the place I'd go for Chinese food.
It's not their fault to try to appeal everybody's taste bud and make the food less authentic, but there's no excuse for mediocre service.
When 2 stars come, it means "very whatever". Mehhhh....
