Let's put this straight--it is VERY alright.
Yeah, call me subjective, yeah  I take it personal, whatever.
The food taste the same as Panda Express. Panda is good for what it is (you can't beat the prince), but this is just not the place I'd go for Chinese food.
It's not their fault to try to appeal everybody's taste bud and make the food less authentic, but there's no excuse for mediocre service.
When 2 stars come, it means "very whatever". Mehhhh....

I was sold on this place!
Pretty much everything is fantastic.
Sangria...pink or red, you name it, they do it right.
Their Caesar salad, so simple yet complex. Best Caesar salad so far!
They have some pretty good technique at their shrimps. Those smoky, juicy, tender, a little bit chewy and a little big spicy shrimp is what you can't miss.
Service is fantastic. This is the first place where every dish is surprisingly satisfying...
Def come back for more!

Wakasaya - CLOSED

I wouldnt' say Wakasaya's food is mind-blowing but this is my go-to spot and it has more sentimental values when it comes to rating this place.

They have a menu that looks like a book but I always get the Ara soup, just because I seriously think that's the best of Wakasaya. Seared fatty tuna is my second recommendation.

This is a great convenient place if you happen to be in Sawtelle and want to get small plates, if you want get soup, if you want to get small portion but sill a meal that's full of variety, if you want to get your Japanese food craving fixed but don't want to spend a ton of money...this is the place to go.

Went here on Sunday for dinner.

One word, this is literally a party in your mouth, every dish.

Me and my boi ordered tom yum soup, mussel noodle and a fish dish. Tom Yum soup is so flavorful with a strong kick. Mussel is fat and full. Fish is crispy, fatty, and of course, yummy.

I would highly recommend this place if you are looking for a low-key, tasty, casual and relaxing dinner place.

The service is fantastic.
The deco is very old school bohemian French. You feel like you are dining in an old chateau. Very romantic and sophisticated place.
Came here on Saturday, once get in, it felt like another world from the outside Hollywood zoo.
The wine(Chateau Pin de Fleurs) was great-- warm, full, rustic,  and with the right dryness and complexity.
The background music is a bit random. However, for the most part we dined happily in a jazzy and soul feel slow tone.
In terms of the food, I would recommend Crab Napoleon.
Nice surprise: check in on Foursquare and you get a free Mac'n Cheese with any order of an entree. Gotta love that! ;)

With the amount of food they served, the price is actually not that bad. But the seafood was just alrite. I can see that they are known for the Oceanarium show. But the service was very cordial.
Three stars.

What else can I say about this place?! Musha is where is at!

Once I walked in, I felt like I was in Japan: the whole room feels hustle bustle but service is pretty quick and friendly.

The menu, which is written in traditional Japanese characters, is a bad ass design.

All the items we ordered are pretty good. However, there is one thing that I feel it's a crime not to point out-- BUTA KAKUNI--the perfectly chosen pork belly soaked in braising liquid, even the potatoes have perfectly absorbed the flavor. Look at that meat, it's like they are waving at you. I have a natural high just by looking at it! After the performance of Buta Kakuni, all the other dishes are overshadowed, although they are all insanely good.

Musha is as good as you can get in the U.S.

Three things to remember about this place:
Concept, ***** .This is a place with gourmet American food and affordable price. Just like what they say "upscale yet unpretentious, satisfying yet healthy, gourmet yet generous".
Best Mac n' cheese *****. To a person like me who couldn't care less about mac n chest, Granville's Uptown Mac & Cheese is full, big, tasty, and high quality. It's not starchy as the one you usually eat and they use premium Gruyere Cheese.
Granville's Chicken & Blue Pizza is a must-try ***** Again, for this place concept is key. You can taste the very distinct fig preserve flavor in pizza.
After the meal, I am full but not stuffed, happy and satisfied

Update - 4/14/2010
Went here for the season's last run and it was so far the best snow I've have in Spring.
Although it is week day morning the driving was pretty fast--an hour I'm there.
Because it is week day there were hardly nobody on the mountain.  There are a couple of times that I feel I own the whole run.
It snowed on Monday and Tuesday. So the snow is soft and powdery.
My boyfriend and I stayed on the mountain until 4:30, ending the season on a great note!

Mt. Baldy is definitely "chee-hoo!" status! Let me tell you why:

Price. Mt. Baldy had a promotion last winter, allowing me to get a season pass for $50, which means for $50 I can ride the slopes whenever I want for how many times I can for the whole season. This is the best deal ever. All of my friends whoever got this ticket got so stoked by that.
Distance. It IS really close. If the traffic is not that bad, it only takes about 1 hour 40 minutes. Image you go from Malibu, where you can lay on the gorgeous beach or catch some epic waves, probably 2 hours later you will be surrounded by snow! All you need to do is to get ready to rock the slopes!

    Now the down part:
The facilities are very old; signs aren't so clear.
Not too many easy-ride and beginner-friendly runs.
The driving up to the top of the mountain is pretty crazy, especially when the road is icy. But I think it makes this place more of a badass--it's a challenge, you make it, you make it.

Although Mt. Baldy has limitations, nothing can beat the price and distance. For that, it deserves five stars.

Wilshire Spa

It is a blend of traditional spa with modern luxury.

Great facility, *****. The place is nice and clean. They have steam room, dry sauna, Jacuzzi, cold pool, the ocher room, and the salt room. The ocher room and salt room have specific herb hanging inside.
The service is nice, ****. The counter server gave me a tour since it was my first time. You can order food and drink as well.
Parking lot next to the spa across brass monkey, *****.
If you want other service, look into their massage and facial.
Also, for gentlemen, they have a men's spa next to the corner.

Going to Wilshire spa is like a retreat, I can easily stay half day there. After the spa, I feel very relaxed, energized, regenerated, and clean.
