Had a client meeting at this place earlier and it completely sealed the deal! Right when we walked in, we warmed up right away.  The decor did make us feel comfy and the service was tops.  Got a seat fast, the server was all smiles and she even hooked me up with two half sides instead of just one (although she made sure I knew it may not be okay next time-with a smile, of course).  My client ordered GUMBO, the special of the day, and I ordered CATFISH POBOY with a side of (half/half) blackeyed peas and candied yams, lemonade for the both of us, and off she went.

Right away, we got our lemonade in those pickle glass jar mugs and I was sold.  Then one of the other servers plopped corn muffins and butter to keep us chappy happy and our food arrives in less than 10 minutes.  The GUMBO was freakin' goooood!!!!  The CATFISH POBOY was hecka goooood!!!!  We had an excellent lunch meeting and the food and service at this place was great.  By the end, the owner(?) chatted with us and suggested we try the chicken wings next time and gave us a run down on the history of the place and the food that locals come to eat the most.

We're definitely bringing the girls and bros there.

My 17" laptop was dropped by the bellhop at the ski resort we visited last month and completely damaged the top and bottom pan plus the display casing in such a way that it wouldn't shut.  I called MacService and have been glad since.

Their customer service is sharp and the person who I worked with on the phone guided me through the best possible fix for the situation and even consulted me in making sure that I resolve the issue with the ski resort positively by providing me with all the expense rates and estimates for the product fix to funnel through them.  MacService was prompt and gave me all the information I needed.  The computer casing was fixed the best possible way and they even gave me a 10% discount to make the rates most competitive for the ski resort, which afforded the matter in resolution in good faith.

The only glitch was that there was a slight mishap with the shipping and I received a computer that wasn't mine.  I called them right away and they fixed the situation immediately.  I received my laptop the next day and had a final conversation with their rep that left me satisfied.  For that, I still give them kudos.

I definitely recommend them for Mac fixes and will use them as my Mac Hospital from now on.

We get there at 6:30pm before the dinner rush and all 6 of us get seats right away.  The smiley server gets to us with just the right amount of time for questions before we order.  Our sangria pitcher and strawberry lemonade for the kids come right away and we all delight over how tasty they were.

The food came at a perfect time and we were all blown away with the halibut ceviche, yuca fries, tacu-tacu, sirloin steak strips, the short ribs, and the rotisserie chicken that was so delicious.  We ate to our satisfaction and the kids loved the food.  It might've been the drinks at the start or the vibe of the whole place in general but we were beaming with goodness all the way up to the check, which was reasonable and well worth it.

I highly recommend this place for a good energy, good food, good drinks, dinner spot in the heart of the Mission!

Wednesday nights have been fun to go.  It can get crowded at times but is never over packed like weekends.  Lots of pretty girls seem to come on Wednesdays and the dudes that come are all fairly positive and music centric.

The music is a mixture from heavy metal/rock to indie rock and electro-pop.  The bartenders on Wednesdays are these two kick ass chicks and the drinks are cheaper and better there than the other bars in the neighborhood.

This place is a dive bar but could surely be a good place to meet good looking folks and get your swerve on for sure.

We've been coming here for about 8 years now.  It's become a place that we go to as a family because of their warm and welcoming atmosphere as well as the kick ass sushi boat.  The owners are a couple and are real nice to us and especially our son, who always get a complimentary green tea ice-cream from the mom who absolutely adores him.  The dad, sushi chef, always prepare special rolls and nigiri for us that's off the menu (special requests like no wasabi or extra dose of sea urchin).

The pricing is just right, the food is excellent, it's cozy, and the service is quick and friendly.  This place is wonderful and we'd like to keep it to ourselves.

My experience with these guys was fair until one fateful evening after work when I came right before their closing time to pick up my car.  I had just spent over $700 at their consultation to fix an oil spillage on the engine.  I phoned to tell them that I will get there right before 6pm, as I was coming from right by the AT&T ballpark by bus right after work at 5:30pm.  The person answering the phone agreed to wait.

When I got there at 5:45, the mechanic that worked on my car was on the phone, saw me, then turned around.  I then waited for him for the next 15 minutes talking on the phone.  I thought that there may be someone else there to help while he was busy but no one else was there.  I tried interrupting him so as to get his attention in case he didn't realize I was there to pick up my car.  He then turned around and told me in a very rude tone to "wait!"

I waited for 5 more minutes then he got off the phone all mad and started yelling at me for being late??  "Can't you see I'm on the phone?!  I waited for you!  You should wait for me!  I should be off by now!"  I told him that I was simply trying to get his attention because I knew they were closing at 6pm and that he had not recognized my presence there.  He continued to yell.  So I said, "F*ck this!"

At that point, we got into a yelling match with fighting words.  The argument ended when he realized I was ready to physically fight.  We both calmed down enough to swipe my card and sign off.  But as soon as I signed the credit slip, we started at it again and just flipped each other off as I drove away.

"Excellent Service"

Sugar Bowl Ski Resort

We just got back from a half-day snow play at Sugar Bowl and had a blast!  The five of us, 3 adults and 2 kids, all signed up for first time ski and snowboard lessons.  The adults got the lessons and gear rentals for free with a purchase of a $56 half day lift pass as their weekday incentive.  Not bad!  The kids got lessons, rentals, and a half-day lift pass for also $56.

We were rushing to make the 1pm class and was a bit late but instructors took us anyways and were good sports about it.  The instruction was clear and helpful.  I got along with our instructor very easily and had me going down the slopes in no time.  The kids also got a kick out of their lessons but were more impressed with going down the slopes on their own.  Overall, we all had a great time; albeit, we're sore and achy from falling on our arses a bunch.  No sweat!  We're coming back!

We planned on hitting Boreal as our first place for our son's 9th birthday snow getaway.  Our intention was to get him ski lessons, a lift, and time for galavanting around in the snow.  When we got there, it was quite crowded so we decided to just go tubing since we had only half the day by the time we got there.

We purchased 3 tickets for 2 hours at 1pm and expected to keep tubing until their 3pm closing time (for tubing).  We were told the tubes will be provided at the slides.  When we got there, they didn't have enough tubes (they overbooked!) and more people were behind us.  So, we waited for a tube until some people gave up, which was about 10-20 minutes.

As more people came, everyone formed a line and people slid down, gave up their tube to the next person, got in line, and waited for someone else to give up their tube.  Some people got really irate and it started to hamper our attitude also a bit.

In the end, 2pm, we went back and asked for a refund, although there was a big sign that said "ABSOLUTELY NO REFUNDS."  The reason why I'm giving these guys 3 stars is because their staff were really good about handling the overbooking and the refund request.

The staff at the slides kept their cool and organized the line situation to accommodate the overbooking while staving off the angry customers.  The guy at the registry also treated us with respect and, after consulting the mgmt, refunded us our money and apologized.

Overall, we could've had a better time given better timing.  But, customer service is such a big variable and they did the right thing at the right time.  As far as the snow fun itself, our positive attitudes kept us smiling the whole time.  Plus, we got a few good slides down for free.

Squaw Valley Lodge

We're here right now making breakfast in our Deluxe Suite while the kids are hopping around just loving our time.  I'm compelled to give Squaw Valley Lodge a good rating and review after a well rested sleep from the gym, sauna, spa fun the 5 of us had last night.

There are two hot jacuzzis outdoors next to the unheated pool which we dipped in last night during a snowfall that reminded us of mineral hot baths in Japan.  We dipped in the cold pool screaming then jumped in the hot jacuzzi for a major thrill!  Then we all jumped in the steam sauna and the regular coal heated sauna for a finish before showering nicely and retiring finally after a whole day of snow fun.

Although we didn't take advantage of the ski packages, the stay at the lodge completed our day in the snow perfectly with a very comfortable studio complete with a kitchenette for the 5 of us.  The staff are quick and sharp and the village close by offered an array of restaurants and shops that made it easy for us to keep smiling the whole time.

We would definitely come back here.  The price is fair, parking is easy, accommodations are all up to date and facilities are clean.  You can even ski back right to the front of the lodge!  Fun times for kids.  Lots of smiles.
