"Meat on a stick! Meat on a stick!" Pearly, Matu and I chanted this during our first dining experience at Yakitori Boy (and I think we were clapping too in unison). We looked at the colorful picture menu and got even more excited. It must be related to our love for graphic novels, or something.

As we looked over the menu, a very friendly waitress appeared and explained to us the concept of the restaurant. It is based on a Izakaya, which is kinda like a japanese tavern that serves food to accompany the drinks. The food was japanese tapas-style and sushi. Obviously, we ordered a variety of meat on a stick. And, it was very tasty! Also, for the drinkers, the establishment had a wide variety of cocktails and sake. We kept that bill separate from the food. Drinks add up! Also, if you ask, they will gladly do veggies on a stick. Which was a great option for the vegans at the table.

I enjoyed eating there. It was cozy, friendly and fun. I recommend it, if you want to have a laid back dining experience with good friends.

For those who know me, I love hand-made jewelry, rocking gear by local designers and vintage clothing. And Topstitch has it. Yes, has it all. The boutique's lovely selection of crafts and one of a kind jewelry makes me flustered and happy. I almost always leave the place purchasing a couple items (I wish my ears were pierced 'cause I would buy all their feather earrings). It is one of my favorite philly shopping haunts. Also, the ladies of topstitch are sooooo friendly. The girls have a knack for capturing the essence of now fashion through their selections.

Zen Tea House is cute, cozy and the tea is delicious. It's a great place to go on a low key night with friends or strolling over after a show. The best part: Zen Tea House is vegan friendly. Just ask for soy and it's done & done. Yumtown, right!?! The service is extremely friendly and the vibe is very chill.
