You know, I forced myself back here 3 times since the original review, and whatever problems they had have been fixed. The food was great, price was fair, and more importantly, they got my order correct. This is a good place that must of went down a bad road, but thanks to places like Yelp, I think they turned the car around and have fixed their problems. I like this place, its good people and good food.

This place is all love and hate for me. I love the food, when it's right.. which it never is. I have never given a place so many chances. I have quit my weekly vist twice in the last 2 years. I just came back from a 3 month absence and when I ordered a cobb salad with NO BLUE CHEESE they replaced the cheese with graded cheddar cheese. So when I said I didn't want ANY cheese it seemed at first I almost had to talk the waiter into fixing something I didn't order. Of course they just picked the cheese out and I got the same salad back with pieces of cheese all mixed in it. I didn't even want to bother trying to get them to fix it/replace it again. If I was allergic to cheese I would have flipped.

Thats the problem with this place.. they act cheap, they constantly get your order wrong, like in all seriousness.. maybe 2/3 of my orders are wrong. Finding a refill? Do it yourself... or at least thats what I always have to do. Table not have sugar, only has one kind of jelly? The management needs to focus on side work, quality control... and almost every aspect.

Im not being unfair here either, they also charged my girlfriends credit card twice in the past for the same bill.. they also messed my credit card total up once by adding the cash tip I had put on the table to the final bill. The tip section on the bill I actually wrote "CASH ON TABLE" how do you mess that up? - Sketchy, or just really sloppy.

They fixed both of these issues in the past, but if I hadn't caught it, it would have most likely never been fixed. We also had to stop by with a copy of our credit card slip just for them to fix it. Really?

I have ate here over 30 times, and the last 10 times I have asked myself.. why do I even bother. I never reviewed this place because I didnt want to say anything bad about it, because it was close to my house.. and well neighborhood pride and all.. But...

I give up.. no seriously this time. Skip this place, its like a restaurant with mommy issues.

Ordered the all you can eat special, our first round was very poorly made and bland tasting sushi. It was mushy, and honestly tasted like it was old fish. We didnt like the rolls, and even after only a few bites they wouldnt let us just pay for what we ate, and get something different. We had to pay full price, for a few pieces of bad sushi. We ended up leaving without ordering or eating anymore, angry... I will never return. Nasty sushi, a scam deal, and horrible customer service. Felt sick all night from this poor quality, generic over priced sushi.

Shame on you Midori.

These guys were so friendly, I thought it was some kind of joke.. like an undercover camera show.. my girlfriend had two bad tires that they plugged up, rotated all the tires and then they actually said it was "on the house"... wait.. WHAT??? When has a tire place ever been nice? I tipped them $20, and WILL return when I need new tires on any of our cars.

See.. they get it. You do me a favor, you have me for life.

Firefly

This place made me come out of my Yelp-Tirement because I have never had a dish make me instantly ill. We decided to check out Firefly on a Saturday night, and while an hour wait was going on we were told we could eat on the patio. So the super low tables made eating uncomfortable,  but we were starving and dealt with it. We ordered several dishes, and while some were decent, like the Steak TarTare sliders and the Squash Blossom. Others like the homemade chips were boring and overpriced and the mediocre Calamari with its nasty dipping sauce was quickly ignored and thrown away. The atmosphere was very romantic and cool, definitely the main reason to come here.

The free bread, and what seemed like homemade butter was better than the food honestly.

Now the awful.. The Crab Cake was disgusting.. no seriously.. it tasted old and had a very strong fish taste. The dish actually seemed slimy, which might have been on purpose, but when something tastes so rancid, and the texture feels rancid.. it an extreme failure. We both started to immediately feel sick after only one bite.. and while the waitress did take it off our bill we both are were trying to hold our food in. We decided to try dessert to calm our stomachs.. and the peach cobbler was delicious (better than the bread!) - but we left both feeling sick, and I ended up puking as soon as I got home. While I type this im trying to hold down awful burps of dead fish and my girlfriend is laying in bed trying to calm herself down as if she's on drugs.

While I saw another recent review of someone else getting sick, I think its the management's responsibility to figure out whats going on in their kitchen. I hate leaving a poor review to a place that seemed so cool, but I just paid $60 to ruin my night, and my date.

The only reason I didnt give 1 star, was because its has a very cool atmosphere, the waitress was very nice, and the dessert and bread was great. Skip the food, grab some wine and bread and use this place for a romantic place to trick dates into liking you. I wont return here, unless its to collect evidence or to place flowers if my date expires tonight.

Samba Brazilian Steakhouse

Im a huge fan of Brazilian Steakhouses, especially Fogo De Chao. Im not a fan of Samba. The salad bar was decent, the normal variety.. not as big of a selection as Fogo, but the price difference between Samba and Fogo I was expecting some quality loss. This comes to the biggest problem with Samba. The service, we were 1/2 through a plate of food before we even had a glass of water on our table. In 30 mins, we had only TWO people come to our table for meat.. One was a RAW/RARE meat that I believe was rib eye, and a guy with those mini sausages. We asked for a more medium to medium well meat, specifically a Picanha. We couldn't get meat for the life of us, we asked twice to our waitress for help getting some, but no luck.

Then these dancers came out to really LOUD music.. I guess this was to confuse people, and make them forget how little meat they were serving. We sat the mojority of the night looking at empty plates, and around the room for help...We finally became more upset, and we were about to leave (which we told of waitress, after a third request for food).

Some meat finally came to us.. undercooked (rare) still but at least it was food. I felt like a starving child by this time. The meat actually was decent,  but was really salty, I guess so your body absorbs more water and you get stuffed faster.

This whole experience was bad, spend your money at Fogo, or even the grocery store.. this is just a trick.

More staff is needed, more meats, less salt, less annoying dancers and loud music, and maybe some kind of management to come to the table and give us an explanation at why they ruined our dining experience.

Trust me, this place is a unmanaged tourist trap of crap.

Pretty close to feeling like I was back in college. Cheap beer, jello shots, and a bunch of drunk people. The place is really a great find, and the only negative comments I could even say about the place wasn't about the place at all. There were a few almost fights out front which will happen when you mix $5 pitchers of bud lights and karaoke madness. Their food looked good, the bartenders were all really nice, and the people that went there all seemed like they were looking to have fun.

Not many places surprise me like this place did, it was so much fun I want to return, but living in Burbank makes it difficult. Maybe I should move to Playa Del Ray just so I can party it up there.

Hmmmm...

Im mad that I just found out about this place. It's by far the best place around NoHo. You get 2 free joints on your first visit, and other goodies the next few times. The selection was great, and the place was just nice and clean.

Check it out. TRUST ME, Tell them "Brian Reichle" reefer-ed you.

Mimi's Cafe

So I found out about Mimi's from a recent trip to Vegas. I ate at the Vegas location twice, and appreciated the breads, muffins, and the unique twists that this place offered on its menu. This location was extremely slow in comparison to both Vegas location experiences.  They also never brought us the basket of assorted breads. My diet coke remained empty most of the time, but the Veggie Burger with a side of extremely fresh fruit was top notch.  The pot pie was also delicious as usual, and the price was great, coming under $10 per person on average.

I really like this place both for breakfast with its fresh and warm muffins that come with your meal and lunch, I like the quality of food, and if it wasn't for the questionable service at this location I would have given this place 4 stars.

Try it out, especially if you live by a different location.

Nobu

Yeah I get it.. Its Vegas, everything is overpriced and the restaurants have some of the best chefs in the business. Well, im a sushi fanatic, and I live in LA. I have found places like Sushi Joint in Glendale, and even the Wokcano chain in Burbank. Both offer, in my opinion some fantastic Sushi. Then comes the overpriced Nobu in the Hard Rock. Sure the presentation is nice, but when the waiter told me to eat cloves in between bites of the Yellowtail I was laughing in the inside. No eating cloves in between bites does NOT make the YellowTail taste any better than normal.

You know what this place is, its above average Sushi that if you believe the nonsense, you might think this place is something amazing. But I thought the Sushi had a stronger fish taste than normal, and the dishes to be overpriced for the quality/quantity that was given. Its ok, its better thank ok.. but its not $150 for two people ok.

We have amazing sushi in LA, so I wasn't impressed with Nobu.

Eastland Sushi & Asian Cuisine

Oh my.. you ever sit trying to eat what you have in front of you but you cant stop thinking how much you want to "Yelp" about it when you get home? Well this is one of those places for me. Now I might be a little spoiled since I live in Los Angeles, so you locals might not get where im coming from.

First, this was the only time in my life that I was not offered chopsticks at a Sushi place. I was given a fork, and I had to hunt down someone for  what should be the default.

Forks? Really??

Meat, it was fishy, covered up with sauces. The spicy tuna looked like a childs thumb in a snowball of rice. Lots of rice, but they are cheap on the meat.  The overall quality seemed low, and fast food. Like grocery store Sushi. The Edamame was dry and saltless. The only good thing was the Soke, which is almost impossible to mess up since im guessing it was no made by them.

The service was ok, the order was messed up and it had to be remade. We asked for one roll to be rolled in cucumber instead of rice which is nothing too crazy if you're at a real Sushi place.. but forget about it, this was like asking for a taco at a pet store. We had to visually explain it multiple times to the waiter, and they still messed it up.

Overall I can only judge the sushi at this place, so the "Asian Cuisine" might be decent. But I guessing the locals of this place think its great, only because they dont know what better is. Depressing, and days later im still turned off with Sushi because of this place.
