Tacos are really hard to mess up and a test to measure how good some of there other offering are the basis to judge for me.

Start with a good grilled corn tortilla, then construct the taco  with various meats and finally garnish to finish. Some say soft, others say crispy (classic gringo style I say!) So I order both! The soft taco was filled with mucho carnitas and mild salsa, thumb up!! Next was the crispy taco filled with my fav, beef tongue and a little shredded lettuce and hot sauce and your on the way to a happy tummy.

Pupusas are comfort food to the max. Balompie makes a decent one, but I feel they somewhat lack on some of the fillings in them. Yes, they are good and properly grilled to a nice browning crust. Topped them with the mild vinegary cabbage and some salsa and they make a filling lunch with 2 pupusas.

My fish, shrimp pupusas was OK, like I said, not to much filling as was the sausage and cheese. At $3.50 each, they were OK, expected more, as I had some from a excellent pupusas from the North Bay.

Believe the hype!! I've waited the right opportunity on Monday just as they open and only 4 people in line, LUCKY me. Yes, I get to park within a few feet away and was anxious to finally try these jumbo over size sushirrito.

I settled for the Salmon Samba and was made with ultra fresh ingredients: teriyaki-baked king salmon, asparagus, cucumbers, delicate lettuce, avocado and green onions & wasabi mayo. It was what l"ve always thought what a great sushi roll should be from a high quality sushi restaurant, but without the fuss. I could have easily devour two of these, but will definitely have to come back soon.

The last time I was here was more than 3 years ago and still enjoy their rotisserie chicken very much. The 1/2 chicken was very moist through out , even the breast was not dried out. Perfectly marinated with herbs & spice and just a right amount of saltiness. The full meal had a nice salad with a vinaigrette and the side of the rice pilaf is the best choice. The special pita bread is SO good that you may want to order some to bring home.

Why not more reviews for Wing Lee? Perhaps a whole lot of us just don't admitted that we all had one time or other been here, but just not brother to review this Chinese "fast food" joint because its always there and dependable damn inexpensive compare to other "American fast food junk". You gotta see the wide choices of typical Chinese standards and at least they got asst. veggies right?? McD,KF what ever don't. OK, I must confessed that I been here over 50 times.....

A must try no nonsense sandwich deli in the Soma/Potrero Hill area. Truly a no fuss with veggie fillers,  just meat and bread almost (peppers, pepperoncini, etc). Every sandwich is made on the spot with the best cold cuts and daily hot specials with very good sides of salads like potato, macaroni, marinated mushrooms , etc. Very friendly staff and exceptionally clean deli!! Excellent sour dough, sweet roll, Dutch crunch & ciabbatta bread.

A unique light and airy square pizza that will please even the die hard round pizza eater. The pizza are on display in front of the window so you can make your choice before you enter the counter inside. Very very reasonably price for such heavenly pizza. No lines for me on a Good Friday before Easter around noon!

Located on the lower side of University Ave in Berkeley, this small & charming little Vietnamese is worth a try. Family owner  greets you and service is pleasant and attentive.

I was a little skeptic when I walk in and found this place was almost empty, perhaps because of their location from the more busy upper college area. The starter of the imperial rolls were a combo of pork and morsels of shrimp. Came out hot and crunchy with fish sauce and was OK. The shrimp pad thad was satisfying with the combination of eggs, green onions, bean sprouts, chili peppers & red bell peppers. Dish was mild not too spicy for me.

The vermicelli spicy beef soup had thinly sliced beef, imitation crab, shrimp and Thai basil, bean sprouts & lemon that you add. The green bean with garlic, beef & tofu rice plate was enjoyable. Finely sliced beef and bits of fried tofu and garlicky green beans was prepare on the light sweet sauce and a hint of saltiness.

Defiantly Asian food for the masses. Saturdays are very crowded as I was invited to a Red Egg party and the  mixed general lunch crowds. The sushi rolls are your best bet  here with a good variety. The grilled selection was pretty good as was the roast chicken, bbq pork ribs, roasted pork, beef stew with turnips/diakon, and grilled mackerel. Fair amount of veggie items to get your minimum amount of intake for the day. Dessert was so-so, bite size package items mini cakes, jello, ice cream, etc. one plate was enough for me, really!

Food for the masses it is, family style it is, for 2 or less its not. Basically pasta in every conceivable way with pizzas as well. Food is OK, don't get me wrong. For a big food chain, it is consistence that you will always at least get to see first who cooks your meal when you past thur the kitchen.
