I've only been here once, but I will definitely be back. I ordered the mofongo - mashed plantains mixed in pork fat with a delicious beef sauce poured over the top. This is a perfect little mom and pops joint to grab good grub and head to 1 of the gardens at 9th and C to enjoy an afternoon.

A true gem. I always stop here on my way to east river park. They serve a proper cafe con leche, meaning STEAMED milk with Bustela. And that's only 75 cents. I'm also a big fan of the breakfast sandwiches, like the bacon egg and cheese roll. The beef empanadas are a good cheap snack - the dough is on the dry side, but the meat saturates it and makes up for it.
So. Good food. Super cheap. Awesome stop to ERP. And they let me practice my Spanish.

Despite the east villagers that hate this establishment, it's pretty damn good. The ambience, service and price point is a bit over the top, however, the pizza is great. I recommend the Polpettini pie which is covered in delicious meatballs.

I had extremely high hopes for this slice. From the street, the window looks like a portal to the perfect slice. The ingredients tasted super fresh, but the flavor was void of any personality. I'll probably give it 1 more shot.
The margherita pizza is very good. I would prefer a bit more sauce and cheese on the pie, but that's a minor preferential complaint. It's a fun place to bring tourists because of it's history, location and classic pizzeria ambience.

My first experience, I was not wowed. But it had more to do with the toppings we added which distracted us from the foundational elements - crust, sauce, cheese.

This is a good, consistent pie, and a cozy yet romantic environment. If you want more fashionable, trendy experience, it's a nice place, however, I'd walk around the corner to Luzzos for a superior slice in a more casual pizzeria atmosphere.

My favorite pizza. Anywhere. Super thin crust (much thinner than a traditional NY slice), perfect medley of cheese, sauce and crust. I've explored various toppings, and the meats really add to the experience.
For 2, I recommend ordering 1 margherita pizza, and 1 order of cheesy bread.
And remember, if you order between 4 and 7 any day of the week, it's $20 for large pizza and either pitcher of beer or bottle of wine. also, their lunch special is absurd - $4 for 2 slices and a coke.
If I had to find a complaint, I'd like them to change out their beer taps with a better, more boutique selection.

Memorable pizza. Perfect crust, slightly charred, crisp not chewy. Wonderful sauce to cheese to crust ratio. 5 stars. I've even liked the broccoli pizza they gave me by accident.

The abysmal service at this place never ceases to amaze me. Regardless, I eat here a couple times a week because the food, coffee and atmosphere can not be found elsewhere in DUMBO.
