Miami Shine Cleaners

I recently returned home after months away and had an abysmal task ahead of me with only days to get it done before I set off again.

After a little phone tag I was able to reach Alan who promptly set me up for an appt, and gave me a full brief on what I could expect.

What they did was phenomenal! I had been nervous about unfulfilled expectations but by the time they left, I was hugs and gratitude! (I may have scared her with the hug but I couldn't help myself)

In the city that I love, I've found in short supply people who can come in and  deliver. They did and I am so appreciative.

I will be using Miami Shine again.

Ps. You may not reach them on the first try, but don't give up. They're worth it. Show owner comment »

I'm not from LA, but the 4 months I found myself living there for work also found me desperately looking for a dentist since I couldn't go home.

Yelp, led me to this office and dental Gods gave me Dr. Joyce Chen.
I debated even writing this review because truly, I want Dr. Joyce to only have the nicest, sweetest, and most deserving customers.  Because she goes the extra MILE all the time.  After having an emergency procedure done here for my pain, I decided to do everything I had been putting off (due to work, life, time blah blah blah) here at the this office.

I saw Dr. Joyce once every 2 weeks until I left LA and it was a sad goodbye! Their treatment is phenomenal, she personally calls for follow ups and (dare I say) dragged herself into her office when she was not supposed to be there to help me.

I may taking the trips back just for her. :-)

At Cumberland Falls Bed and Breakfast Inn

This Valentines day my boyfriend and I wanted to take a romantic vacation and Asheville was the place. After scouring the internet for the best possible combination's, big tubs, great food, fireplaces, I had a matrix with information, and we sat on it. As I went in and then looked at all the real people reviews: That's where Patti & Gary come in.

As nice as the other inn's and B&B's appeared online, nothing came across as loudly as the reviews of Patti & Gary's Cumberland Falls B&B. So we booked it and couldn't of been any happier about it!
A reviewer commented on them being the nicest. people. ever. She was right.

The house is exquisite, we arrived late on a Sunday and they left us a note and instructions, as well as twilight goodies, for tea and cookie hour! (Patti bakes something delicious daily for all her guests in the early evening.) Scrumptious!

So we went about exploring the house, taking photos, and just as the sun was setting my boyfriend was bringing in the bags, thinking to himself "that Gary sure does think of everything, but he could use a light back...here" and the motion sensor kicked on and all was illuminated.

Every morning Gary's breakfast would be a treat to the senses, baked goods, fruit (poached pear with Chantilly cream anyone?), and delicious entrees, fresh coffee, tea, and plenty of help on anything you could possibly need or think to need in Asheville. Amazing!

You will not feel more at ease, relaxed or at home, then you will here with Patti & Gary.

What a concept! Take a cookie cutter national hotel chain, mix it with personalized service, boutique hotel amenities,  unique world 2k design and Voila! you end up with ALoft Hotels. I'm so glad the W decided to launch this chain. The idea of a small chain hotel with more then one person working the desk at any hour (you would think its not novel) provides for a great experience. During our stay we were able to see a local artist showing in the main lobby, beer tastings, and live music. It is a chain hotel with a boutique mentality and its fantastic. I just wish their coffee was stronger.

The Ritz is known.. well for being the Ritz. The name pretty much says it all, superstar service, creature comforts, all that one could ask for when traveling. From the moment you check in you will be known,  you will be greeted and it feels like they really do want to remember your name.  Service for me was exceptional, Jim gave me a tour of my rooms amenities as well as the hotels, Court took great care of the cars we had in Valet, and In-Room dining food was delicious. Especially, when my party and I were able to order dinner & drinks 14 floors up, from the Aqua Lounge Menu. After doing some laps in the pool we felt we deserved it. I hope everyone at the Ritz-Carlton knows how much I enjoyed my stay.
**I never did get to ask if they do some kind of aromatherapy in the rooms but I swear, every time I picked up the phone in my room I smelled fresh cut cedar**

I grew up in NY, so whenever I go back I think " how in the world did this happen?" regarding times square...
Now there is seating in the middle of the road, pedestrian walkways and everything is illuminated!
Its nice and full of consumerism, it just feels like an outdoor mall now. So if you like that kind of thing, and you like sports, hit up the ESPN zone.
Its a chain, with predictable menus' and tv's everywhere, but the staff was really nice and attentive and the food came out right on time.

They had these dreamseats, next to our table that you could sit in (as if you were at home) order food, recline, put your beer in the cup holder and watch any of the 30 screens going. Our table had a little audio splitter where we could pick what feed we wanted to hear.

We kept it on mute, but loved the Sudden Death Brownie.

My very dear friend lives on the same block as Sofia (formerly known as S'Agapo) as the restaurant still wears the name of its old incarnation on its outside awnings.

On a wonderful evening we decided to give them a try and what a great dinner we had! Everyone was extremely gracious with us, the hostess, the busboy, even the owner took the time to come to our table and have a nice chat.

We ordered the lamb chops, shrimp, lemon potatoes, and spinach. We were so happy with our meal that we will be returning soon!

I'm conflicted. A group of us went out for the evening and decided to try this place on a recommendation. I ordered the Pork Trio, Truffled Mashed Potatoes, and Asparagus Flan. The Potatoes were a bit runny, but everything else was delicious, (even the runny potatoes were tasty).
That's the good part. I felt horrible, because we went for Miami spice and  everyone else ordered off that menu.
I cannot speak for everyone in my party, but I will say that food was sent back, meals left untouched, and nothing offered in lieu.
Had I dined alone, they would've received a better rating but based on the service my friends received, I cannot.

Whenever I'm on this side of town during the morning hours, I make it a point to stop by.
I'm originally a New Yorker, and that meant as a child I spent alot of time going into places like this with my dad to pick up Knishes.
It's diner counter and classic decor, make you feel right at ease, that is if the sweet ladies behind the counter didn't right as you walked in.
It has a great staff, smiles and fast service.
My favorite is also the pumpernickel and nova (someone else mentioned it) and well, its delish.
I wish I lived closer.

I have lived in the Gables area for almost ten years and this place is walking distance!
I have gone from post college to grown up and still find that taking people here for breakfast is a win win situation.

The decor is that there is none.
The floor is usually dirty.
There are no reservations and no hostess.

The IS always water in your cup, a friendly waitress who remembers your name if you tell her, delicious cuban food, and even better cafe con leche.

I am such a fan of this restaurant, everyone who has ever stayed with me, visited Miami, or has been within earshot knows that I love it.

YUM YUM, when my family visits from Orlando, they actually stop there before getting to my house.
Sometimes, they even call to see if I want anything...
