Newark Self Serve Car Wash

This place is really beat up, but I guess at the end of the day the primary goal of washing your car does get accomplished. I'm not coming back unless this really is the only self-serve car wash around.

The foam brush I used had some bad leaks in the fittings, so the soap leaked (read: constantly poured) all over my hands and everything else. There wasn't even any foam at all, just a sticky pink liquid that sort of made bubbles; I'm not even convinced it was pumping any water.

When I moved from WA to CA my plans changed at the last minute and I had to scramble to find help moving into my new place. I saw that these guys had good yelp reviews so I gave them a call. They were able to help me the next day. Kenny and JD are great guys, everything went smoothly and quickly. I'd recommend giving them a call!

On The Go Moving

I needed somebody at the last minute because the snow messed up my plans and On The Go was able to do it. I did my own packing and driving, I just needed help loading. Jimmy and Donald were the crew, and both were friendly, professional, and efficient.

Jimmy in particular made sure all of my furniture was properly wrapped, giving advice to the other guy (his 1st day?) as he went along on how to do the best job. I even learned a few things myself on how to pack better. They did a great job loading the truck, everything was methodically stacked and secured and it never shifted after 1000 miles. The movers at the other end of the trip even commented what a good job they did, nothing was broken or out of place.

I'd recommend!

This is by far my favorite place to eat in Austin. Breakfast or dinner, it's awesome food. Fantastic biscuits and gravy! I especially loved coming here late at night to sit at the counter and read. The staff always remembered what I wanted and were fun to chat with. The weekends are always a mess, but worth the wait!

It is a requirement that I must go here every time I'm in PDX and buy bacon maple bars. The whole concept is sickeningly sweet and bacon-ly delicious!

(I'm a bit biased since the place is literally across the street from me, so it's a very convenient go-to.)

The food is usually above average to great. The bacon-infused waffle is an awesome concept, and coffee is plentiful. It's practically all local and regular customers, somewhat even Norman Rockwell-ish. The waitresses are all charming and friendly.

If you want a table on the weekends, you're going to wait a while. There's usually quick seating at the counter though.

I really wish this place was open later. It closes at 3 PM every day, and it would be so nice to have a Tillamook cheddar burger for dinner or sit at the counter to study at night. The one in Woodinville is open later, but that's a bit of a drive for a casual outing.

Tony Maroni's Pizza

I love this place because it's always quick, consistent, and reliable delivery. I can phone in an order for my usual and be off the phone in 30 seconds (the record was 23!), and have it show up within 40 minutes.

I've probably ordered a couple dozen pizzas over the last year and each have been great.

I do wish they'd stay open later, at least on the weekends. Several times I've wanted pizza at 11 PM on a Friday or Saturday and they'd long be closed. I'd spin the Wheel of Yelp to find another place in Bellevue to try and it wouldn't be nearly as good as Tony Maroni's.

This is my favorite breakfast/brunch place on the east side. The servings are huge and heavy, you're not leaving hungry. Back in my cycling days I could finish off a Big Mike (two plates of pancakes, bacon, eggs, hash browns) by myself, but now I occasionally order it just to relive the tasty glory days.

The waits on the weekend can vary drastically, anywhere from 10 minutes to an hour. More than a few times I've had to abort my plans because it was just too busy. Great place to sit with friends and talk over coffee while waiting on your food.

When I moved here from Austin, I was pleased that there were actually several "Mexican" places here, but I was disappointed by the quality. Then my friends pointed me to Oooba.

I love their skirt steak tacos, the meat is just the right texture - not too dried and sinew, not sopping wet. I frequently go to the one in Bellevue for lunch too and both locations have equally good food. The Redmond location being open until 9 PM is handy too, it's one of the few places open at night.

I always feel ashamed that I order the exact same thing here over and over again without trying something new because my favorite dish is so outstanding and amazing.

I always get the coconut curry with chicken, extra hot (much to the shock of my tamer dining companions). It's very tasty and just enough spice to start a bit of a sweat. Combine this with their garlic basil naan and mango lemonade, it's quite an awesome meal.

All the people I've taken there really like it, yet I can't figure out why it's always empty when I go in. I guess this says more about the city of Redmond shutting down in the evening rather than the establishment.
