This Dominicks will be closing around October 23, 2009. The building (and the closed hotel next door) will both be torn down and a big brand new Dominick's will be built on the site. Some of the shelves are already more empty than normal, and there will be more clearances coming up here.

This Dominick's location has long been one step away from the chopping block. But somehow, it keeps going. This location is a fairly small location that hasn't seen any of the renovations that other locations in the area have. I use this location as an overgrown convenience store; mostly to pick up stuff that the wife asks me to get on my way home from work. It's usually not too crowded and all of the food staples are well represented.
One more important fact, I feel the service is better than the Broadway Jewel, which is a few blocks east on Berwyn.

She called up our vet and got some inaccurate information regarding the cat we have now. Rather than ask us about it, she came at us like we were lying and had to diffuse her.
Once we were done with the SNL member, it was all smooth going. We got our big cat home and he's doing well. Out adoption fee was $60 which gave us a bag of Science Diet food and a nice cat carrier.
Should we adopt again, I would once again consider adopting from ACS.

One note, I did have a root canal here and it was NOT a pleasant experience. I did not like the guy who does the root canals at all. He's a no personality chop shop kind of oral surgeon.

Stanley's also has a machine that knocks out fresh potato chips. I got a bag and boy, they were really fresh and really good!
Course play moved along way better than it used to. Also, if you want to try this course out, and you have some flexibility, go to http://ezlinks.com and name your price. I got me and my friend on for $6 each!

I used to play Robert Black a lot. It's a decent 9 hole course with some challenging holes. But I haven't been playing it anymore due to a few issues:
1. This course can be very, very slow play. With hole #1 being a short par 5 (only about 480 yards), tee times start backing up when you get people that play slow. Hole #4 (par 3 about 165 yds) gets a huge backup of foursomes.
2. The maintenance of this course isn't very good. It's a great course to play in the spring as its in pretty good shape. But as the spring and summer go on, this course gets pretty beat up and for me, is not worth playing.
So that's it. If you're going to play at Black, play early in the season when it's in good shape.
