I'm updating my review once again as it's been 6 months, and I wanted some time to evaluate Zume's after my original post. I don't think we'll ever have another berating incident, as the mood here has seemed to pick up. The food / coffee is fairly consistent and nice to have in the neighborhood.

Updating my previous review as the owner took the time to send me a personal note agreeing that she could have handled the situation better. That gives me hope for other patrons who bring in their dogs accidentally.

I try not to go here after the woman (owner?) at the counter berated my husband for bringing in our 5 lb dog, who's accepted at most Starbuck's and Dunkin Donuts. All she had to do was say to him "I'm sorry we don't allow dogs here, even carried in" like most places will say if they don't accept dogs. Instead she told him to "get that dog out of here" in a manner that is much to our distaste. I have no issues with leaving our dog outside, but I do have issues with people treating us that way.

Massage Envy

Wow, I can't believe I am the first to review this place. I received a gift certificate for Massage Envy which I redeemed today. I had a very positive experience overall. When I entered, the receptionist gave me a warm neck pillow - a nice touch, especially given the fierce cold and wind I stepped out of. They take a personal approach, so after filling in a form on my current bodily complaints, I spoke with the receptionist for a few minutes about my issues and what to expect. After that, I met my masseuse Josina, with whom I had an hour session. She was very attentive to my needs, and she was very strong. She also had a lot of good information for me on things to try to help improve my issues. After the massage I learned about their wellness program, which is a year-long subscription that entitles you to discounts on massages. This seemed like a good option if you plan to get weekly or bi-weekly massages, which I do not do. I will very likely go back and visit Josina.

Bagel Bin

I became addicted to these bagels having visited my in-laws in the area numerous times. On our last visit we discovered they SHIP bagels. Yes, I will get bagels shipped to me in Boston, as you cannot get bagels this good anywhere near here.

Perhaps the sushi here is good, but the rest of the menu - what a waste. We ordered dinner and had it delivered through Foodler. I had hot and sour soup that was the most tasteless version I've had. I had the teriyaki chicken combo dinner plate, which included a child's portion of tiny chicken strips, a wad of plain white rice, and 4 pork dumplings which were ok but very greasy. Hubs had General Tao's chicken which was bland and tasteless. He had wonton soup which was ok. All this for a whopping $50, not including Foodler's fees for delivery.

We had our kitchen countertops replaced with granite from Louis Mian. We purchased a granite countertop piece at the annual remnant sale. We got a great price, including template, fabrication & installation. We worked with Jon Mian who was thorough, very patient, and accommodating. The gentleman who did my templates and installation was also thorough and precise. We're looking forward to working with them again for our bathroom vanity.

I came home to a flyer from Unique Dumpling on my doorstep, and quickly shoved it in a drawer like I do all these menus. It wasn't long before the flyer called to me from the drawer. We decided to give it a try and thought the food was surprisingly good. My favorite is still Hsin Hsin on Mass Ave (although I don't eat regular Chinese food there), but this does come a close second.
