This has been the MOST PAINFUL AND DIFFICULT process I've been through since child birth. Seriously!
I called and ordered photos, when they did not arrive I called again. My photos were not printed and no one could tell me why. They processed the order again. They didn't arive AGAIN. I called AGAIN and was told they must have been delivered to the wrong address. The order has been processed again, for the THIRD TIME. The photos won't arrive until December 15 at the earliest.
Some of these photos were supposed to be part of relitives b-day gifts, now they are Christmas gifts; and even that is in jeapordy becuase I still have to purchase frames and ship them. I can't even see the photo to get an idea what frames to purchase because the half-wit photographer didn't give the children an access code when the photo was taken.
This has been a nightmare. I will be letting my church/school/and anyone else who will listen how terrible LifeTouch is.
The Basil Rolls ROCKED...but they were tiny for the price. The lunch special was huge, but it didn't taste as good as other places I'm used to. I had the basil beef but the sauce was a little thin on flavor. There was enough between the rolls and the lunch special for two meals, easily.
My favorite part of the meal was the spicy peanut sauce which came with the Basil Rolls. I could have drank it straight. But I didn't...co-workers were watching and it would have been poor form. If I were alone I totally would have used my fingers to get every last bit a sauce out of the ramekin.
5% discount if you pay cash. Decent for a little lunch walk from the new office digs.

There was more food than any two little women could eat...but yah, we ate it all anyway. Butternut and I went here on a Saturday afternoon. We were starving like marvin because we'd skipped traditional lunch time immersed in the JFK-ness of the Sixth Floor Museum.
1. We sat in the trolley car--which is always awesome. "Look I'm on a TROLLEY CAR INSIDE A RESTAURANT!
2. Huge plate meant to feed 2 Dallas Cowboys Linebackers--big ones. And yes, we ate it all. Did you really think for a second we couldn't.
3. Food was awesome and the waiter took our photo for us so we didn't have to stop stuffing our face to snap it ourselves.
GREAT FOOD and just like I remember it being when I was a little butternut myself.
I still love this place and I've yet to be disappointed by it. Maybe I got lucky and hit it at the right time, maybe everyone else hit it on an off day. Who knows, but I'll go there again on Memorial Day for sure.

I wonder how long they would let me sit there and eat chips and hot sauce. I'd like to test that theory some day. Because I'm cheap? Well, yah because I'm cheap, but really because they were THAT good. The chips were lite, crisp and salty. The sauce was thick and tomatoey with the right amount of zip. Even when my food arrived I couldn't stop on the chips.
I ordered the spinach enchilada/puffy taco combo. Yes, I know it has a name but I've slept since then. And while I do not like cooked spinach, the enchilada was effing sweet! I would totally Popeye up that plate'o'joy again. The downside was that the puffy taco shell was stale and hard to rip apart. The brisket inside was completely worth the effort, but I would have loved for the shell to be a little more crispy. Don't worry...I managed.
Service was extra perfect. Atmosphere is swankier than most Mexican places. All in all, this was a four star all the way.

But if your child didn't feed from Lakewood, Stonewall or a private school--it will be an uphill battle. The school is very slanted towards the haves and often leaves the have-nots sitting on the bench. If you can't get your own transportation, you cannot participate in most of the schools after school activities.
I'm a working mother and I have litereally had to move mountains for my daughter to be able to participate in the activities--even in summer.
The teachers are good. The new principal is pulling things together. But the progams are administed haphazardly at best. My daughter was in a Spanish class with a substitute-turned-permanent for the first six weeks. There were over 40 children in the class and not enough desks. Children had to sit in the floor for the first six weeks. A second teacher was eventually hired but they are all very behind now.
My daughter is in the IB program. For the most part, the teachers are AMAZING. But often we find their time taken up with all the meetings they have to attend, leaving little time for tutoring. And if you are in IB, eventually you will need tutoring.
Woodrow, compared to other DISD schools is 4 stars. I will stand by it, but it needs to improve. And while I'm glad y'all are out there pumping sunshine, it comes off very candy coated. Yelpers are smart enough to hear the truth and smart enough to recognize propaganda.
