Serendipity - we needed a place to take ourselves and our two year old for dinner, and everything worked. He enjoyed the small play area (though I was a bit nervous about its placement next to the fireplace, which had an uneven edge on the floor), the fun tables and the small pizza we ordered him.

Solid menu, and the staff was extremely nice. They only have one highchair at the moment, but I can't imagine they won't buy more soon - families with kids were their sole clientele when we were there, and the place packed up quickly at dinner.

They appear to have worked out the heat and smoke issues that the previous reviewer mentioned (at least the night we were there, 1/22/2011).

love it. everything i need in a coffee shop - good joe, nice light, friendly baristas, decent grub, an old couch, and wifi. so far the art has been easy on the eyes - they sell vinyl as well, but i haven't checked out the stacks. will definitely be back, hopefully for a reading.

I'm the DJ for Salon of Shame - we just moved the show from downstairs to this space for our November 2010 show, and I already love it!  One big room with a bar, lots of couches and a stage - everything needed to make it all happen.  Looking forward to settling in!

I've been a lunch regular here for over a year and am just getting around to reviewing them, finally. Friendly staff, reliable, fresh food and coffee, good ambience.  There's places to sit by the window for people watching, or a sort of cozy, cave-like area in the back if you'd like some quiet time. Don't miss the lox if you're a fan of such fare - very tasty.

Sometimes giving directions to this location can be a challenge, given the name, and the fact that there's another one on the same street (in Belltown). Your best bet is identify it with the Seattle Art Museum, which is just one block north.

I've had Jessica work on me numerous times and had nothing but good experiences - she is knowledgeable, kind and professional.  If you've never has acupuncture before, she will explain how it works and what to expect - it's as important to her as it is to you that the right path for your health and well-being is chosen.  If you've had acupuncture before, you'll find that she definitely knows her stuff - I was amazed to find out how little I really knew about the practice until I received her care and advice.

She's the sort of person I would feel equally comfortable sending either my funkiest friends or my mother to.  Her practice, Artemesia Healing Arts is one of several in the Northwest Healing Studio, and is convenient to both the highway and the busline as well as all the food goodness to be found in both Wallingford and Fremont.

Update - 12/15/2009 5 photos
UPDATE: raising my rating from 4 to 5 stars. These guys are great - they've expanded their product line and they're reaching out to the community via Twitter and Facebook in fun and effective ways. Definitely one of my favorite places on the Hill to shop and/or drop by to chat with the staff and other members of the gaming community.

I agree with Emily C for the most part - there's a lot of potential here for some great community confluence amongst gamers and the like to be had here, if said community keeps the support steady.

The inventory is currently low, but after speaking with the owner I would say it will double at the very least as he finds out what people are looking for. For now, there's mostly board/card games - Settlers of Cataan, Munchkins, Magic the Gathering, etc., as well as gaming dice (Chessex). There are currently only a handful of RPG titles (4ed D&D), but this *will change* - I threw in a request for Shadowrun and Call of Cthulhu. There's also strong interest in getting used stuff for either cash or trade as well, which will be excellent to see.

The gaming area upstairs is small, but honestly I'm happy about that - it's more intimate without feeling cut-off from the world. I could totally see hosting a game up there some evening - he's considering doing some vending, water/juice/snacks for hungry gamers, though there's plenty of good food options around already.

I dig the overall minimalist decor - feels spacey, almost like the inside of a mod-70s UFO. They'll likely start putting more stuff up soon, though.

I'll be visiting/keeping a close eye on this place. I would really love to see them thrive - the whole notion of having a gaming store within walking distance thrills me to no end, especially given how connected with the community they're looking to be.

so delightful. my new favorite lunch spot now that i've fallen off the vegan wagon - perfect coffee, ambiance, freshness of ingredients combined with a friendly and attentive staff that always make me smile.

there's seating for individuals and couples in the front + plenty of room for groups in the Diller Room in back.

the sandwiches are naturally primo, but be sure to try the desserts as well - the cheesecake is particularly fantastic.

Delightful!  Picked up a selection of vegetable rice rolls today - fresh, tasty, just what I wanted. Spoke with the owner for awhile, a really nice lady who's all about what she does. She's not sure if they're going to have a menu per se - she's into making things different ways, different days, which sounds fine to me.

I got my food to go, but if I had the time I'd been happy to stick around and eat - the seats and the overall decor are very inviting, a respite from the busyness just a few feet outside.  She's always got food ready to grab, but I get the feeling you could she'd make you anything you wanted in the realm of bento/sushi/rice rolls if you had a special request.

I recently hired Andreas at AcroCore to be my personal trainer, and the experience has been excellent - he understands my goals and is as determined as I am to see them come to fruition through core strength and aerobic exercise, as well as yoga techniques and mental discipline. I would (and have) recommend him to anyone who's seeking to "level up", whether they're a beginner or an advanced participant.  Andreas himself is in amazing shape, and seeing what he's accomplished for himself is half the pleasure - he's also super nice and professional and will push you just enough to be both healthy and productive.

Good times! Thanks to the Yelp staff for another sweet fest. I dug the balance of music, games, food, drink and different "spaces" to hang out and meet people in, and I liked how Katie welcomed everyone who arrived. Next time bring more hoodies! :)
