I am so glad I found this WingTsun school after my relocation from New York City. I had missed training WingTsun greatly and this is just the perfect place to train and develop your skills under very experienced and friendly instructors.
WingTsun is an awesome form of martial arts that really speaks to me as a woman and as a person who really just want something simple with which to protect myself should the occasion come up. I don't have to remember a million things (although after training the muscles will take over and just react on their own), but just the notion that I have to go forward and to hit with intention. If you are truly trying to learn a martial art for practical purposes, then WingTsun is definitely your choice.
The school itself is pretty easy to get to from the freeway. What I like the most are the people. Who you train with really makes a huge difference in how quickly and efficiently you learn. If you ever have questions, no matter what level student you are, you could just ask one of the senior students and they're only too happy to share what they know. The atmosphere is always very pleasant and the training vigorous (really, sometimes we end class collapsed on the floor but always really happy with what we just learned).
I think the combination of factors really makes this school an ideal choice for people who want to train WingTsun and those who want to give it a try. What're you waiting for!?

Hair Salons
Neighborhoods: Little Italy, Chinatown
I've been here quite a few times and I really don't go to any other salon now. I tend to forget how ridiculous prices are for haircuts in the city because all my life I've cut my hair either at home or at a Chinese salon. This place is on the "high" end for Chinese salons but it's definitely an incredible deal if you get your haircut in NYC anywhere outside of Chinatown.
I'd say most of the stylists are great. They all have their own little quirks, but who doesn't. If you have a good idea what you want, you should definitely tell them, but the good thing is that they'll probably do a decent job on your hair even if you don't have any clue what you want to do with it. I had my hair cut from around waist area to right below my ears (yea) by Gary and he did a great job (took FOREVER - which, mind you, is his little quirk - but awesome job).
I agree with everyone that the hair washers can be a little pushy... ok very pushy. I've been duped into getting a package for oil treatments and have had to share it with friends because I just don't do that many oil treatments (the card doesn't expire, but still, it's been 3 years). But you really just have to put your foot down and say no. They try to separate themselves from the other salons by offering a more client/service oriented style - offering tea, giving you a robe before hand... etc, and in general I've found it quite pleasant.
