Simply Thai Restaurant

I thought this place was pretty good for the price and the food.

It's very clean and fresh, not greasy.  We had the Tom Kha, sticky rice and the Drunken Noodles with chicken. Everything came out fast except for the drinks, which they were happy to comp (we were nearly done eating by the time they arrived).

It is probably not as authentic (or inexpensive) as the places in Thai Town but it is a good option for the neighborhood with nice decor.

Possibly the best Roasted Chicken lunch special (Wednesdays). $9.95 w/ rice and salad and it's totally addictive. We get it regularly in the office. Have yet to try the Thursday Baked Salmon special but will have to soon. SHOCKED that I'm the first to review this place -- I was actually looking for it on Yelp for months but wasn't sure of the spelling.

The service and ambience here is fabulous... very cozy spot in a sort of middle-of-nowhere area between culver city and marina del rey.

We had salmon and lamp chop tapas as well as some excellent wine. They wouldn't let us leave without dessert.

Looking forward to returning on a night when there is live music.

Il Capriccio Wood Fire Pizzeria

Nice to see some quasi-green initiatives as stated on their menu, however, the pizza itself seemed to be lacking in both cheese and sauce. Two things that I find to be quite central to my pizza. Our only other topping was Pepperoni -- it was good, the thin crust wood-fired action was tasty, however, this just isn't the best option in the neighborhood.

Also, they weren't delivering tonight because "the delivery guy didn't show up." D'oh!

I would be interested in checking out the courtyard eating area as mentioned below.

Restaurant 15 - CLOSED

On my most recent visit to 15 I learned that the restaurant will soon be taken over by (another) wine bar. Come October 24th 15 will be no more. To that end, there are numerous items on the menu that are unavailable. Still, the food is excellent, get it while you can or wait until they move into a new place, likely with higher prices.

I still really like this place after three visits. The topic of "new Echo Park" or whatever inevitably comes up each time but if 15 is a glimpse of things to come, at least they keep it real, keep it reasonable, and keep it damn tasty.

Think about it: There's 40-some condos going in across from Chango down the street, and undoubtedly the block east of Masa and across from Walgreen's will be seeing it's makeover in the coming years.

Anyway, back to 15 -- great service here, great variety of wine available for about $30 / bottle, and it's hard to beat a $12 Kobe burger w/ pomme frites.

The irony of people thinking it's too fancy for the area is the fact that it actually is kind of shaped like a mobile home, especially with the way you walk up a couple stairs and enter right in the middle of the joint.

Nice little Thai BBQ joint. I got the Chicken & Beef Teriyaki lunch special. There were no veggies, which is fine with me -- the beef was large pieces of skirt steak and the chicken was tasty (also large strips). Very friendly, and the only Thai takeout I could find on Yelp near Wilshire/Robertson.

Best turkey burger I've had in ages. Just started working down the street and have already visited Cafe A 3 times -- 2x the turkey burger, and 1x the Chinese Chicken salad, which was very tasty with hot grilled chicken on top... not much different from Feast from the East. But the turkey burger will keep me coming back (and getting free deliver on orders over $10). 1/2 pound of turkey spiced with rosemary on a wheat bun w/ grilled onions. hellz yeah. not to mention, some nicely spiced, skin-on fries. Under $10

Second try and I wish I worked from home so I could hang out there for an entire morning. Everything was looking good, and the cold press iced coffee was a real treat.

NOTE: Preliminary review -- just had [soft] open.

It's at least the 3rd coffee joint to open in the past few years in the one mile of Echo Park Ave north of Sunset Blvd. And NONE of them are Starbucks, thankfully.

Grabbed a shot of espresso this morning, the owner, Marc was very friendly and I'm sure I'll be seeing him again soon. Great outdoor seating area, very dog-friendly. 4 panninis on the menu, as well as the usual morning muffins, bagels, etc.

I look forward to adding more stars to this review when it really gets rolling!

No sign yet, look for it at the NE corner of Echo Park / Baxter.

Good lookin' out once again, Yelp! Found this via http://m.yelp.com on my phone since my battery died -- searched watch battery and walla -- 3 solid reviews. It's in the strip mall with Pattaya Thai, hours were 9-6 on this particular Friday and the nice man behind the counter switched out my battery for a new one in 2-3 minutes for $5.

Nice one!

Psyched about FO2 finally opening... just a slight detour on the way home making for an enjoyable way to ditch rush hour traffic.

72 taps mirrored with 36 types of beer. More in bottles. And they have some cocktail options although no vodka is available.

Menu is the same, again, I'll never give this place a perfect score as long as they insist on serving their burger one way and one way only. That ain't right.

Great, well trained staff, with excellent knowledge of the oh-so-tasty brews. Best selection of Craftsman brews in the area.
