Don't bother looking for ticket machines.  There aren't any.  Plus, the lobby is closed on the weekends.  So, if you take the train from Bethel, you have to buy your tickets from the conductor on the train.  And, he looks at you like you've just burned the American flag, or something.

I could do without the fruit flies on the wall next to our table.  Attention Rye: bust out a can of Raid, or something.

This was a real mixed bag.  The warm chocolate cake and vanilla ice cream was the definition of ordinary.  Okay, but no different from a hundred others I've tried.  And, $9?!  I can see charging maybe $5 for it.

Nice martini and old fashioned, but again I have issues.  The martini was $12.  They are $9 at The Richardson and every bit as good.  The old fashioned was served with one giant cube of ice which filled much of the glass.  Like 5 sips and the drink was gone.  Note to restauranteurs on a budget: giant ice cubes are a good way to cheat your customers out of actual booze.

We were going to order oysters until they said they were close to $4 each.  WTF?!

The lobster bisque was very good, as was the grilled quail, although I wasn't crazy about the sweet sauce with the quail.

You would think that the monkfish wrapped in ham would be amazing, but it was pretty bland.  The lamb shank special was really great, however, and should be on the regular menu.

5 stars for the excellent waitstaff.

I'd probably have less eater's remorse if they dropped their prices a little.  Walking home, I kept thinking I would've been more happy just ordering a pizza or Thai food.

When we first moved to Greenpoint, the people at 4 Seasons really went the extra mile with help and advice on our various home-improvement tasks.  Go, ask questions, don't be afraid.  No hardware snobs here.

They have a fax machine that comes in handy when documents need to be faxed.  Ah-hem . . .

Also, I might start shopping here just to avoid the terrible, small, Duane Reade down the street.

The cut felt rushed and I had to do some touching-up when I got home.  Seriously, I have like 12 hairs on my head.  How can you f*ck up this cut?

Great pumpkin pie.  Different, though.  Almost like a pumpkin mousse (sp?), and it has a ginger-snap crust.  Whole pies are expensive -- $22 for pumpkin, $27 for apple.

Enter the transparent cube, descend the spiral staircase, and enter into a world where a sales clerk can scan your credit card with a gizmo on his belt.  We are truly living in the future.

Okay BBQ.  Nothing to write home about.  Barely something to write a review about.

I just stopped in for coffee to-go while I was waiting for the train back to the city.  I can't say anything about the food.  It's a tiny diner.  Maybe next time I'll grab a bite.  Coffee was good.  I never take it light and sweet, but this day I did.  I needed some lightness and sweetness, I guess.
