I started off with the mushroom soup, which was a little disappointing. It was way oversalted, to the point that the soup broth was unedible. The ingredients in it were good and the poached egg cut the saltiness, but too much is too much. My entree was the pan roasted sea bass and my gf had the half-chicken, both were excellent and made up for the soup misstep. We also had a plate of fries with saffron aioli. For dessert I had the blueberry pie and she had the rocky road, both were seriously good and a nice way to end the meal.
Our server was attentive and knowledgeable about the dishes, but he did have a few lapses here and there, mainly forgetting to give us our leftovers. Chalk it up to new restaurant jitters. Really the best part was the Chef coming out himself to serve us and taking the time after our dinner to chat with us for 5 minutes, knowing that my gf used to go to his previous restaurant. Things like that make you want to go back, despite its imperfections.
