I have recently changed my diet to Vegan and am moving to Venice and I was really worried that I was going to have a hard time finding anything good to eat.

I tried out the southwest burger at Seed and it was the best burger I have ever had in my life. No joke.  I went back 2 more times in a row I enjoyed it so much.

The staff is really friendly and mentioned that they recognized me and that made the experience even better.

The green tea cupcakes are the perfect dessert compliment to the burger.

Charging a $5 cover at 1:30AM is unacceptable.  I also think the days of rude door bouncers is over.

I work in Redmond and live in Seattle so Bellevue Square is conveniently located on the way home for me.

One day I really needed a haircut and I was able to get a last minute appointment.  The stylist available was named 'Tara' and because that is my name, I thought that meant good karma.

Turned out, I was right and 3 styles later we are still going strong. In fact, I am going to see her today.

The vibe at 7 is OK..the music is a bit much if I have had a long day...don't get me wrong, I love the DJ and all, and I am big into getting my groove on, but sometimes I just want to sit back and relax and get shampoo'd and a nice head massage without my ears bleeding.

The green tea and piece of chocolate makes up for it, sometimes.

Bottom line, I continue to go back for Tara.  Oh, and the product is pretty good too.

Slave To The Needle

After many many years of contemplating my first tat, I finally just went for it.  I decided to start with one on my neck because I think it looks hot on women.  I decided to put something meaningful and due to lack of space on the back of my neck, I chose initials "FI" which stands for Fuck It.  My friend Sean designed it and it has a cute little heart.

I called up Slave to the Needle because they have a great reputation and happen to be just a few blocks from my house. I love convenience!  They were able to take me the same evening I called which I was greatful for because when I decide to do something I want to do it right away!

I got to the shop and was greeted by friendly peeps and good tuneage.  I met the artist, Brian, and showed him my mockup. After a couple of iterations we settled on the lettering.

Then I sat in the chair and my BFF Ryan started clicking away with my camera.  Brian placed the trace paper, Ryan took a pic and I reviewed. I was happy and Brian got to work.  I was a bit worried about the pain but Brian didn't lie, and said ya, it would hurt a bit. I love honesty!! :)

It took very little time and was over quickly.  Brian was super cool and we were both happy with the results.

I can't wait to go back for my tiger tattoo which I will have done along my side.

Great job!

p.s. I am bummed that they don't do piercings at the Wallingford location anymore...I also wanted to add a new earring. ah well

This park is my oasis - my happy place.  I jog here alone or with my chocolate lab almost every morning and it just makes my day brighter even if its raining.  i love jogging up the "mound" and looking at the art on the ground then out at the water, the city and the rowers and sailboats.  Even the refinery equipment puts a smile on my face.  Sunny weekends are an extra special bonus when the bikers take rest after zooming down the burke gilman trail...in other words, I've seen a good many hot guys chilling here so take note girls!  I've seen many photographers here with plenty to snap at and kites flying in the sky.  Closer to summer the food stand opens up to serve hot dogs - sustenance after sweating it out on the trail.

I liked this eatery...I went with about 8 other people and they easily accommodated us.  The lighting was just right, our waitress was attentive and the food was delicious.  I had very good ahi tuna there and I'm picky being from Vancouver....The restroom was roomy and smelled good - just one of those things that's important to me.  One last thing - the desserts were delicious!! Tiramasu was particularly good.

I checked out the diggs this past Friday as part of their grand opening weekend to the public.  I brought quite a few peeps with me - about 10 I think and we all had a fabulous time.  I think my fave activities were taking pictures on the video camera, arguing over whether the MJ pic was actually made of cereal, dancing to 80s music, and getting interviewed by Buster for his adhoc matchmaking service.  Oh and the art installaion with the 3d pics was tres cool.  The best "art" in my opinion was definitely the wallpaper which I believe was ordered online. Is there anything that can't be anymore?  BONUS: there are plenty of rooms if you need to get away from certain people or make out with a new hottie that you unexpectedly meet.  That didn't happen to me but there is always a next time and I plan on returning. See you there! :)

Nectar is my absolute fave fave fave bar in Seattle.  I've been there to watch bands, for a "crush" party, for an Indian dance party, etc. and I always have a great time. I love the second floor when you need to get away, make out, or watch your peeps on the floor below.  The bar staff is always great and I've never encountered an unfriendly person.

I'm not a huge fan of eating on the eastside because I live in Seattle and after work want to get the heck over the 520.  I made an exception and joined some friends for a Seattle wine meetup.  The parking was of course easy and FREE with both Lincoln Square and Belleve Square offering up plenty of it.  After a quick walk we reached the restaurant which had good signage.  The restaurant had an OK entrance...kind of strange with the large metal object being the first thing you step into and the hostess off to the side and not noticeable.  We ended up in a back room which was roomy and simply decorated.  Unfortunately I wasn't happy with the rest of my stay.  I felt uncomfortable that the waiter wanted to know my name, bread wasn't offered up by default, we had to ask for it, twice.  My friends and I weren't served our appetizers at the same time and mine got cold by the time my last friend received hers.  I ordered warm spinach salad and it was cold and bland and just not good.  My Ahi Tuna Poke was pretty good but award winning? I don't think so.  When I was ready for the bill I signalled the waiter and he looked at me, then looked away and walked right by me without any sort of acknowledgment that he was coming back for me.  It really is too bad b/c the restaurant has such a cool name!!
